Hairdressers to Indoctrinate Clients on Global Warming
Neutral territory does not exist under totalitarianism. There can be no escape anywhere from the ideology of the ruling class. For example, in Australia, hairdressers have been enlisted to indoctrinate a captive audience while cutting their hair:
More than 400 hairdressers have attended workshops as part of a project called A Brush With Climate being driven by Paloma’s owner, Paloma Rose Garcia.
Paloma’s is a hair salon in Sydney.
During the sessions, hairdressers hear the basics of climate science and get to role play how conversations might go. They also take one of the posters back to their own salons.
The posters read, “This salon chats about love, life & climate action.”
Garcia tells a story about one regular client, a mother of two. After having the climate chat and talking about solar power and ethical banking, she left happy.
Solar power means paying more for unreliable electricity generated using hardware made by our communist Chinese adversaries. Ethical banking means entrusting your money to woke banks that invest in green energy boondoggles. The only lesson learned from Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank is that Big Government is there to hand out other people’s money when banks run by leftists fail.
Schemes Paloma Rose Garcia,
“You’re letting someone touch your hair and so you have to like them. That trust allows them to start that conversation.”
That is, you can exploit trust to manipulate clients for political ends.
The pitch has to be hard and relentless to convince people to give up their freedom and their standard of living in the name of an ideology that is farcical on its face. Hairdressers are not known for their scientific acumen, but it is doubtful many truly believe there is anything wrong with the weather that bureaucrats can fix through taxation and hyperregulation.

India: Hindu protesting Quran recitation during Belur temple festival lathi-charged
Karnataka Police on Tuesday lathi-charged Bajrang Dal and Hindu activists when their protest against recital of Quran at a historical Hindu religious fair turned violent in Beluru town of the district.
The Hindu organisations had given a bandh call in this regard in Beluru town. The situation turned volatile when a Muslim youth raised the “Quran Zindabad” slogan amid the protest.
The Bajrang Dal and Hindu activists questioned the youth and surrounded him. The situation turned serious when the youth got into an argument with the agitators. Later, he was chased by protesters. Meanwhile, another group of agitators blocked the road.
Taking no chance, the police resorted to lathi charge and quelled the mob. It also took the youth into custody and interrogated him.
The Hindu activists had submitted a memorandum to the Tehsildar office demanding that the verses of Quran should not be recited at the Hindu religious fair. They also urged the authorities to release the order in this regard by April 3.
Hindu activists have opposed the ritual of reciting the Quran during historical Chennakeshava Rathotsava in Beluru town. The Hindu organisations maintain that the ritual should not be observed as it is against Hindu religion.
The historical religious fair is scheduled to be held on April 4 and district administration is concerned about the developments taking a communal turn at the time of elections.
Beluru Chennakeshava is a 12th century Hindu temple. Its architecture is considered a marvel. It was built over three generations and took 103 years to finish. The temple is expected to get a heritage tag from the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
Last year, amid the opposition by Hindu activists, the Quran recitation was carried out during the religious fair. However, Hindu activists are claiming that the ritual of Quran recitation before Hindu God was forcefully added in 1932.
Dr Ramesh, a doctor and author, has released a book in this regard and explained how it is unnecessary to carry out a Quran recitation before the Hindu God Sri Channakeshava.
The Hindu activists are questioning is it possible to recite Hindu prayers at mosques and dargahs. They claimed that the ritual was forced upon Hindus as a part of appeasement politics.
The ‘Rathotsav’ ceremony at Belur Chennakeshava temple is performed only for two days. Channakeshava’s idol will be embellished with gold guard and diamond jewels gifted by the erstwhile Kings of Mysuru kingdom. Lakhs of devotees gather during the temple fair.
Hindu organisations had objected to the age-old tradition of reciting the Quran before moving the chariot last year following a series of developments in the state.
The administrator of the temple then had written to the Muzrai department seeking clarification over the continuation of the ritual which has been carried over for years symbolising Hindu-Muslim unity.
Rohini Sindhuri, who was the Commissioner of Muzrai Department had given green signal for the continuation of the ritual. She had stated that according to Section 58 of the Hindu Religious Act 2002, there should not be any interference in the rituals and traditions of the temple. After the direction, the temple committee decided to carry out the ritual recitation of verses from the Quran last year.
At least 2 dead in stabbing spree at Ismaili Center in Lisbon, Afghan migrant shot by police and arrested
At least two people have been stabbed to death outside the Ismaili Center in Lisbon on Tuesday in what authorities are investigating as a possible terror attack.
Police were alerted to the scene shortly before 11 a.m. local time after reports of a male assailant attacking members of the public with a large knife at the Islamic place of worship located on Avenida Lusíada in the Portuguese capital.
Authorities approached the man and gave orders to drop the weapon which were disobeyed. The armed attacker was shot in the leg by police after making advances towards them. He was rushed to hospital where he was treated for his injuries, and has been detained in police custody.
CNN Portugal reported the attacker as being of Afghan origin, though no formal identification has yet been made.
“The attack resulted in several injuries and, so far, two fatalities,” a police statement read. Two other victims are understood to have been hospitalized with serious injuries.
“The Public Security Police appeals to the serenity and tranquility of all our fellow citizens, having mobilized the necessary staff for the implementation of adequate and urgent security measures,” the police statement added.
A heavy police presence has secured the perimeter of the crime scene as security services and national police conduct their investigation.
Prime Minister António Costa told reporters on Tuesday that “everything indicates this was an isolated act, but we are not going to get ahead of ourselves.”
The Ismaili community belongs to the Shia branch of Muslims, often considered to be a persecuted minority within the wider Islam religion. Ismaili groups have frequently been attacked by Sunni extremists in countries such as Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Large numbers of Ismaili Muslims fled Afghanistan when the Taliban first came to power in the late 1990s, with reports of mass killings by the extremist group of those who remained in the country.
Belgium: Eight people arrested for plotting an Islamist terrorist attack
Eight people were arrested in Belgium on Monday evening as part of two investigations on suspicion of a “terrorist attack”, the federal prosecutor’s office announced on Tuesday (March 28).
According to a judicial source contacted by the AFP news agency, those arrested are “very young radicalised people” from the jihadist movement. Possible targets have not yet been determined at this time. The public prosecutor’s office stated that in both cases a planned attack had been assumed and that there were links between the two cases.
Five house searches were carried out in Molenbeek (Brussels region), Eupen (east) and in the Dutch-speaking part of Belgium (north) in the three Antwerp districts of Merksem, Borgerhout and Deurne as part of the first case being investigated in Antwerp. At least two of the five suspects are suspected of “preparing to carry out a terrorist attack in Belgium”.
In the second case, investigated in Brussels, three suspects were arrested in Molenbeek, Schaerbeek (another Brussels municipality) and Zaventem, very close to the capital. These people are also suspected of having planned an attack on Belgian soil. France24
A Woke Shooter, a Christian School, is it a Hate Crime? Guns don’t kill people, the evil and the mentally deranged do
We know of course how the story would have played out if a transgender event had been shot up by a devout Christian. For that matter, all evidence to the contrary, Joe Biden recently repeatedly the false claim that the spa shooter had been driven by hatred of Asians. And each anniversary of the Islamic terrorist attack on the Pulse nightclub, the Islamic part is ignored while we’re falsely told the terrorist was motivated by homophobia.
The media’s coverage of the Covenant School shooting by a woke transgender ex-student, Audrey Hale, who had begun calling herself, Aidan, focused predictably on the technique, the types of guns and the plans, which are the sorts of things relevant to law enforcement, but really meaningless when it comes to determining motive. And that is what the public is actually more interested in. But it’s also what the media isn’t interested in, in the Nashville attack.
The media and the Democrats have gone all in on crying about the existence of guns (if only some ancient Chinese hadn’t begun experimenting with gunpowder, we’d all live in safety and security under King Charles III or, worse yet, some Spanish monarch) and platforming activist stunts to demand the abolition of the Bill of Rights.
They don’t want to talk about what combination of medications and woke programming might have made Audrey want to kill kids outside the scope of a Planned Parenthood volunteer event.
The same lefties who think that 12-year-olds should be on puberty blocks are furiously arguing that 28-year-olds can’t be trusted with guns. But guns don’t kill people, the evil and the mentally deranged do.

Ramadan: Tunisian Man Stabbed After Being Spotted by Muslims Drinking Beer in Italy
A Tunisian man in the Italian city of Milan was stabbed over the weekend after being attacked by three other North Africans who noticed he was drinking a beer during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
The Tunisian, who was drinking with another Tunisian man, was attacked near Milan’s central railway station on Sunday as he and his friend were drinking beers.
The two men, aged 47 and 39, were set upon by three other North African men, said to be practising Muslims, who became enraged the Tunisian nationals were violating the Ramadan dawn until dusk fast, along with drinking alcohol, which is prohibited in Islam, Il Giornale reports.
During the violence, one of the Tunisians was stabbed in the side with a knife and was later taken to a local hospital in Milan where he was described as being in stable condition.
The two victims described the three attackers to local Carabinieri but the three North Africans fled the scene before the officers arrived and had not yet been arrested. Carabinieri says they are examining CCTV footage of the area in an effort to identify the attackers.
The incident comes just weeks after six people in the same area were stabbed by a North African migrant from Morocco, who went on a robbery and stabbing rampage while armed with a box cutter.
Alessandro Cattaneo, a member of the Italian parliament for the centre-right Forza Italia led by former Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, stated that the area around the main train station was out of control, blaming mass migration for the increase in crime.
“I don’t know today anyone imagines being able to return to the model made from 2012 onwards, when almost 200,000 migrants were disembarked every year and then abandoned to themselves, in the streets of our cities, leaving them to fall victim to criminal organizations,” he said.
India: Muslim and his family members force his girlfriend to drink acid for insisting on marriage
In Bihar’s Khagaria district, a youth named Mohammad Ishtaaq along with his family members has been accused of forcing a girl to consume acid. The father of the victim has complained against Mohammad Ishtaaq and five others at the Khagaria police station, based on which the police are probing the case. The accused is said to be a clerk in the Indian Army.
According to reports, the incident happened on March 20, 2023, in the Baburaha village of Parbatta block of Khagaria district, Bihar. The victim, who sustained serious injuries on her face, lips and tongue was rushed to a private hospital for treatment. As her condition deteriorated, she was referred to the Bhagalpur Medical College Hospital where she is currently undergoing treatment.
Mohammad Ishtaaq and the girl, both natives of Baburaha village, had been in a love relationship for the past ten years, according to the police. Since the girls and Ishtaaq’s families were disapproving of the relationship, they took the couple to court and the panchayat to settle the matter. Yet, the two’s love affair persisted. Meanwhile, Ishtaaq joined the army in the year 2020 and moved to Delhi for his training.
It was agreed between the two that they would marry after the training was completed. Meanwhile, Ishtaaq parents fixed his marriage elsewhere, for which he visited his village. When the victim came to know about this, she reached Ishtaaq’s house and pressurised him to marry her. Since he did not intend to marry her, he and his family forced her to consume acid.
The victim’s father stated in his complaint that Ishtaaq sexually exploited her under the false promise of marrying her after he gets a job. However, once he got a job in the Indian Army Ishtaaq started avoiding his daughter.
Meanwhile, the accused family, in its defence, have produced a screen recording of a video call that took place between Ishtaaq and the girl to the police, which the latter is also looking into.
Saving the Climate in Portugal, and More
By Christopher Chantrill
I’ve been in Portugal for the last week, visiting Lisbon, Porto, going to listen to Fado music — made world-famous by Fado singer Amália Rodrigues — and visiting the Douro port-wine growing region.
Thank goodness I am a racist-sexist-homophobe insurrectionist and not in the least worried about the end of the world from climate change and environmental degradation.
Once you get out of Lisbon and Porto and their crazy winding streets there are only three things going on. There are endless forests of eucalyptus, used for papermaking; there are terraced vineyards and olive orchards on every hillside; and there are cork trees.
I had a major revelation on the cork tree front. I have never understood how they removed the bark from cork trees without killing the tree. No problem. You can strip the bark off the trunk all the way up past the first branches, and the cork tree just grows the bark back in seven years or so.
So much for cork trees. Now let’s get serious. When people view the Portuguese vineyards growing good British port, they ooh and aah at the pretty landscape: the terraces, the vines, the villages, and the olive orchards in-between.
But I was shocked.
These vineyards typically sit on hillsides that were terraced eons ago for the convenience of the vines and the humans exploiting them. In the old days the terraces were held up by dry stone walls, which was fine unless the wall was breached by a flood of water during a thunderstorm. Today, the terraces are excavated by construction excavators with a steep slope between terraces. OMG.
Do you see what I see? A natural landscape of pine forest has been ravaged by greedy British port-wine corporations: brands like Taylor, Blackett, Symington. And people come to visit and think it is cute!
And the Douro River! Back in the day, the Douro was home to migratory salmon, and barcos rabelos — sailing cargo boats — brought the port wine barrels down the fast-flowing Douro to Porto. Gangs of men warped os barcos rabelos back up the river for the next batch of barrels.
Today the Douro is dammed, and the salmon can forget it. But there is hope, as “Scientists uncover new information on the Douro river ecosystem” and “the threats to freshwater biodiversity stemming from hydropower dams and obstacles in the Douro river.” Anyway, who needs hydropower when Portugal is already saturated in climate-saving wind turbines along every ridge?
More good news. They were planning to dam a tributary of the Douro, the Côa river. But then someone found ancient rock art in the Côa valley, and the rock art site is now a UNESCO protected site, where you can see 12,000 to 28,000-year-old rock drawings of mountain goats, horses, aurochs and the occasional deer or fish. Did the ancients gather at the protected rock art site for feasting on roast auroch? Or for rock-art chiseling lessons? Or what?
One thing about travel to foreign parts is that you get to see a major U.S. export — the stupid and expensive conceits and fashions of our educated-class rulers — being adopted by stupid and conceited educated-class rulers elsewhere in the world. You fly over Britain early in the morning and notice lots of offshore wind farms and you think: Oy. Then you fly over the North Sea and see more offshore wind farms and you think: Oy. Then you finally fly towards the Dutch/German shore and you see more offshore wind farms and you think: Oy.
And you get to thinking — or at least I get to thinking — that the last thing a middle-income country like Portugal needs is the wealth and income drain of fashionable educated-class nostrums from the imperial U.S. HQ, ably assisted by the globalist EU HQ.
Will we ever get to push back against ruinous ruling-class fashion?
I was reading a piece by Keith Naughton about how even GOP voters back Biden’s giveaways, from price caps on insulin to maternal health care. And don’t even breathe about cuts to Social Security and Medicare. Everyone wants free stuff.
The only time we get to cut back the giveaway state is when it breaks. Reagan only got elected when voters were screaming bloody murder from Carter “stagflation.” Trump got elected after eight years of sub-par Obama economic growth. So we won’t get a chance to stop green energy until it is actually killing little old ladies that can’t afford to heat their homes. We won’t get a chance to kill the ban on gas-powered car production until people are freezing to death on mountain passes because their EVs quit on them. We can’t breathe a world about entitlement reform until after the checks stop coming.
‘Twas ever thus.

Europe’s human rights chief slams Britain’s migration bill, urges MPs to vote it down
Europe’s top human rights chief has urged U.K. lawmakers to prevent the passing of a new law to detain and deport asylum seekers who illegally enter the country in the latest intervention by a European body into Britain’s domestic agenda.
Dunja Mijatović, who currently serves as the human rights commissioner for the Council of Europe, penned a letteron Friday to the speakers of Britain’s bicameral legislatures, the House of Commons and the House of Lords, calling on parliamentarians to block the small boat migrants bill, recently proposed by the country’s Conservative government.
The commissioner argued the legislation would “add to the already significant regression of the protection of the human rights of refugees, asylum seekers, and migrants” in Britain, and claimed the proposed law would “provide an incentive to other states, in Europe and beyond, to follow the U.K.’s lead in evading and abdicating its responsibilities to people in need of protection.”
Mijatović took issue with several aspects of the bill, which would see anyone who arrives illegally in Britain, with or without a genuine asylum claim, detained upon entry and deported. Their asylum claim would only be considered once they are out of the country. The government signed an agreement with Rwanda last year where deportees will be sent to have their asylum application considered.
The commissioner objected to the U.K. government focusing solely on stopping the small boat crossings, which have seen record numbers of illegal arrivals into Britain in the past three years. While Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has vowed to expand safe and legal routes for people to apply for asylum before arriving in Britain, these routes will only be explored once the irregular border crossings have ceased, a timeline Mijatović considers to be unacceptable.
“In short, my assessment is that the bill would have serious consequences both for the rights of refugees, asylum seekers and migrants in the U.K., and for the upholding of the U.K.’s international obligations more generally,” Mijatović wrote.
The international obligations the commissioner refers to include the European Convention on Human Rights, a treaty to which the U.K. is currently a signatory despite major protestations by many Conservative backbenchers who have long claimed the convention prevents the U.K. government from adequately protecting its borders.
“It is now essential that members of parliament and peers prevent legislation that is incompatible with the UK’s international obligations (from) being passed,” Mijatović added.
The extent to which the proposed legislation complies with Britain’s international obligations is currently unknown, even by the British government. When announcing the bill earlier this month, Home Secretary Suella Braverman told the House of Commons she was unable to offer a guarantee of its compliance with human rights obligations due to the approach toward tackling illegal immigration being “robust and novel.”
“This does not mean the provisions in the bill are incompatible with the Convention rights, only that there is a more than 50 percent chance that they may not be,” she added.
In a statement on the front page of the bill, the U.K. home secretary even wrote: “I am unable to make a statement that in my view the provisions of the Illegal Migration Bill are compatible with convention rights, but the government nevertheless wishes the house to proceed with the bill.”
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak remained defiant on Monday, telling reporters: “It is a tough piece of legislation, the likes of which we’ve never seen.
“It’s important that it’s effective, which it will be, but it’s also important that we abide by our international obligations. This is a country and a government that does follow the law.”
