Britain’s top diplomat in Jerusalem met cleric who had compared Jews to ‘apes and pigs’

The tweet by the UK mission about the meeting

Britain’s top diplomat in Jerusalem, the UK Consul-General Diane Corner, held a formal meeting last week with a senior Palestinian cleric who has claimed on television that Jews are “cursed by Allah” and comparable to “apes and pigs”.

Mahmoud al-Habbash, the Palestinian Authority’s foremost Shariah judge and the spiritual adviser to PA president Mahmoud Abbas, gave a sermon last September in which he also said Muslims should not allow the al-Aqsa mosque to be “abandoned as prey to the grazing herd of humanoids, of people or creatures that Allah created in the form of humans.”

The cleric has also previously said that there was a “supreme duty” to ensure that the Temple Mount in Jerusalem was “returned, liberated, defended and purified from the defilement of the occupation and theft”.

It follows the revelation that Corner’s deputy, Anne McEwen, led a UK team of Foreign Office colleagues in the Palestine Marathon, an event held in protest against Israel’s “apartheid wall”. The diplomats were pictured at the event in T-shirts showing a map which campaigners claimed “erases Israel”,  prompting fury among MPs.

Parliamentary chair of Conservative Friends of Israel Stephen Crabb attacked the diplomats’ involvement as “incredibly ill-judged”, and Labour Friends of Israel chair Steve McCabe MP has requested an explanation from Foreign Secretary James Cleverly.

A tweet issued by the official UK mission to the Palestinians states that Corner had met al-Habbash “to discuss what more could be done to protect and progress Palestinian women’s rights in law”.

The post included a photograph of the pair standing in front of a furled Palestinian flag, and ended with the hashtag “#8MarchWomensDay”.

The tweet revealing that Corner met Habbash on March 8 was first noticed by the Jerusalem NGO Palestinian Media Watch (PMW), the same organisation that initially drew attention to Team UK’s participation in the marathon race.

Maurice Hirsch, PMW’s legal director, told the JC that “something evil” seemed to be afoot at the UK mission.

He said: “There is no reason in the world why any British diplomat with any self-respect should be meeting someone who has referred to Jews as grazing humanoids and likened us to apes and pigs. This is an absolute and shameful disgrace and Diane Corner should be immediately removed from her post if she does not know the views of the people she is meeting.

“It amounts to condoning and endorsing pure antisemitism.”

On Thursday Steve McCabe MP, chair of Labour Friends of Israel, tabled a written parliamentary question to Foreign Secretary James Cleverly, asking him “what assessment he has made of reports that staff from the British Consulate General in Jerusalem took part in a marathon event wearing t-shirts which erase Israel’s existence on 10 March 2023”.

McCabe told the JC: “If these reports are accurate they are a cause for concern, and we need to hear some explanation as to why this happened and who authorised it. That is why I have tabled a Parliamentary Question for the Foreign Secretary.”

Pressed repeatedly by the JC, the Foreign Office has so far refused to comment on the UK mission’s role in the race, saying only that British foreign policy is to support a two-state solution to the Israel-Palestine conflict.

McCabe’s Tory counterpart, Stephen Crabb, the parliamentary chair of Conservative Friends of Israel, has already slammed the British officials who took part. He told the JC: “It is deeply troubling that British diplomats have been happily photographed with maps appearing to replace Israel with a Palestinian state.

“The UK Foreign Office often asserts that it challenges the Palestinian Authority over its denial of Israel’s existence. I trust that the Foreign Secretary will now make clear to his own officials how incredibly ill-judged it was for them to seemingly endorse the removal of one of our closest allies – Israel – from the map.”

Diplomatic sources have told the JC that Israel’s foreign ministry is “deeply concerned” by the marathon affair, and intends to raise it with UK officials. Next week Israel’s foreign minister Eli Cohen is due to meet Cleverly in London, while PM Binyamin Netanyahu is expected to see Rishi Sunak in Downing St shortly afterwards.

The Foreign Office declined to comment on the meeting between Corner and Habbash.

Moonbats Realize That Eating Insects Oppresses Them

Image: Pixabay / Pixabay License

Our globalist overlords bark that we must eat bugs to stop the climate from fluctuating. However, it has been discovered that eating insects oppresses them.

Leftists need to destroy agriculture in the name of the global warming hoax before imposing a ban on eating bugs. For now, only moonbats would eat them anyway. But Wired has laid the groundwork:

“We’re at the starting point of a conversation about insect welfare,” says Jonathan Birch, a philosopher at the London School of Economics. One of the key questions here is whether insects are sentient and have the capacity to feel pain and suffer.

If only liberals would start to care whether the children they rip to pieces in the womb feel pain and suffer.

Right now there are no widely recognized welfare guidelines for farmed insects, and few laws that specifically require insect farmers to meet certain welfare standards.

Such laws may appear first in California, which has imposed repressive restrictions on the production of pork and chicken in the name of animal welfare, driving up the price of food and no doubt putting farmers out of business.

“If there are welfare concerns, you’ve got to intervene at the planning stages, when those facilities are being designed and constructed,” says Bob Fischer, a professor at Texas State University who works on insect welfare. There are many factors that farm designers need to take into account, including temperature, moisture levels, lighting, how crowded the insects are, and what they eat.

The taxpayer money gushing into state universities buys time for moonbats to muse on how to make insects more comfortable.

An even bigger quandary is how insects should be slaughtered. In the EU, most animals must be stunned unconscious before they’re killed, but no such regulations exist for insects.

Good thing there is no shortage of bureauweenies to draft regulations on behalf of bugs.

Youth terrorism on alarming rise in the United Kingdom

With the massive influx of illegal immigrants and growing threats of jihadist activities, the United Kingdom now sees the volume of terrorism acts committed by youth on an alarming rise. A recent statistic reveals, the number of young people arrested on suspicion of terrorism related offenses in the UK continues to rise.

Figures released by the UK Home Office outline how police made 166 counterterrorism arrests in last year to December 31, 2022. Of those arrested, 32 were under 17 – an 11 percent increase compared to the previous calendar year.

Counter Terrorism Policing’s Deputy Senior National Coordinator Richard Smith said: “The reality is that children and teenagers, some as young as 12 or 13, are now featuring more frequently in our investigative casework.

“The statistics are stark and I know that they’re a difficult read for the public, particularly parents and carers – as police officers and investigators we absolutely share that concern.

“Our priority is always to protect the public and, at the sharpest end of the threat, individuals will be charged and prosecuted for criminal offenses. However, for others, there may be different options.

“When anyone enters the counterterrorism system, we will always consider whether multi-agency interventions and safeguarding protocols will help mitigate the risk to the public. These can also work in the best interests of the individual, which is especially important when dealing with young people.

“Much like the terrorist threat, our approach is always evolving and we have a responsibility to consider all legitimate options to keep people safe”.

In February 2023, the Head of Counter Terrorism Policing Matt Jukes highlighted continued concerns about the impact extreme online content is having on the youngest people in society, and how it can play a significant and influential role in the radicalization process.

ACT Early was launched in 2019, to provide support and advice for anyone who has concerns about a friend, family members of their child.

Commander Richard Smith continued: “Time and time again we are seeing online content, spaces and channels playing a big role in the radicalization process and it’s important that anyone with young people in their families or their lives are aware of this.

“If you see any content that is concerning you then report it via the iREPORTit app or police, and if you’re concerned that someone might be taking a dangerous path then seek support via ACT Early”.

A 2022 report by CBS said, UK lawmakers warned of a growing threat from right-wing extremists and urged the military and police to tighten background checks. The parliamentary Intelligence and Security Committee said in its annual report that the phenomenon had been steadily increasing since 2017, with tech-savvy young men driving the rise.

A growing number of young people under the age of 24 were now on the radar of the UK domestic security service MI5 investigating extreme right-wing terrorism (ERWT), it added.

Of the 25 attacks which the security services and counter-terrorism police prevented between March 2017 and January 2020, eight were motivated by an ERWT ideology.

“The new ERWT threat is fragmented and complex, increasingly driven by the internet and characterized by a technologically aware demographic of predominantly young men, many of them still in their teens, who are typically ‘Self-Initiated Terrorists’”, the report said.

Few of the individuals suspected belong to organized groups and are as a result difficult to identify and monitor.”Their motivation can be highly individualistic, according to their particular personal circumstances, the nature of their grievances and perceptions of their own capabilities”, the members of parliament (MPs) said.

France pension protests: Crowd clashes with police, retort with firecrackers

screen grab youtube

Protesters have clashed with police again in central Paris over the French government’s pension reforms. Thousands of demonstrators lit fires and some threw firecrackers at police, who used tear gas to disperse them.

It is the second night of unrest since President Emmanuel Macron decided to push through the controversial reforms to raise the retirement age from 62 to 64 without a vote, BBC reported.

No-confidence motions have been filed against his government in response.

The first was signed by independents and members of the left-wing Nupes coalition in parliament, while a second came from the far-right National Rally party.

Both are expected to be debated early next week, BBC reported.

Marine Le Pen, leader of the National Rally MPs in parliament, called the decision to push through the pension changes “a total failure for the government.”

Police made dozens of arrests during the unrest at Place de la Concorde, not far from the parliament building, BBC reported.

Protests also took place on Friday in other French cities – notably Bordeaux, Toulon and Strasbourg, BBC added.

“We won’t give up,” one demonstrator told AFP news agency. “There’s still hope that the reform can be revoked.”

Another told Reuters that pushing the legislation through without a vote was “a denial of democracy… a total denial of what has been happening in the streets for several weeks.”

The government has said the changes to pensions are essential to ensure the system is not overburdened and prevent it collapsing.

But many people, including union members, disagree and France has now seen more than two months of heated political debate and strikes over the issue.

Transport, public services and schools have all been affected, while a rolling walkout by waste collectors has seen thousands of tonnes of rubbish left on the streets of the capital, BBC reported.

Fuel deliveries have also been blocked and there are plans to stop production at a large refinery in Normandy in the coming days.

“Changing the government or prime minister will not put out this fire, only withdrawing the reform,” said the head of the moderate CFDT union, Laurent Berger.

British Muslim man found guilty of terrorism, was found making bombs

British Muslim man Asad Bhatti, accused of terrorism (image courtesy: Asad Bhatti’s LinkedIn)

A British Muslim from Surrey, a county in England, has been found guilty of terrorism offences, including possessing explosive substances, according to the statement released by Surrey police.

According to the statement, the culprit was identified as Asad Bhatti of Holland Close, Redhill was arrested on the charges in January 2021, and a search was carried out at an address in Redhill. On Friday, the 47-year-old was found guilty of two counts of possessing an article for the purpose of terrorism.

“Today (17/3), at the Old Bailey, the 47-year-old was found guilty of two counts of possessing an article for the purpose of terrorism, contrary to Section 57 of the Terrorism Act 2000 and three counts of making or possessing an explosive substance under suspicious circumstances contrary to Section 4 of the Explosive Substance Act,” the statement read.

“Bhatti was investigated by officers from Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTPSE) after he had taken his computer into a shop to be fixed and a member of staff found some concerning file titles which he reported,” the statement added.

Further, in the statement, Surrey Police revealed that after the investigation by CTPSE, some documents were discovered suggesting whoever was using the device had an interest in explosives and making explosive devices.

Following this discovery, Bhatti was arrested and a search was carried out at his home in Redhill and at a storage container he rented.

According to the statement, the police found chemicals, chemistry equipment, electronic circuitry and even an improvised explosive device, which was dismantled by a specialist explosive ordnance disposal team in the storage unit.

This device was not deemed to be functional due to some of the materials used. At his property, items including a USB stick containing guides to make explosive devices were seized.

“Bhatti was also found to be in possession of manuals he compiled and wrote himself. He had spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations on making explosives, shooting techniques and hand combat, along with manuals published by others on making explosives and combat. This resulted in a suspicion that the possession of all these documents was for a purpose connected with the commission, preparation or instigation of an act of terrorism,” the statement read.

In the statement, Detective Chief Superintendent Olly Wright, Head of CTPSE, said: “The case against Bhatti was strong, I am glad the jury have found him guilty today.”

“There was clear evidence of his extreme Islamist ideology and the danger he posed. He clearly hated those whom he considers do not follow his version of Islam, and he made a range of derogatory comments towards those he considers to be ‘unbelievers’,” he added.

“I am especially grateful to the member of the public who recognised the risks and took steps to call the police. This allowed Counter Terrorism Policing to stop Bhatti’s progress in manufacturing explosive devices which could otherwise have caused significant harm to the public,” Wright said.

Bhatti will be sentenced at the Old Bailey on April 25.

Dutch Farmers will probably be the majority party in the Netherlands’ Parliament

Image: Tractor protest in Holland. YouTube screen grab.

By Andrea Widburg

Last year, the Dutch government announced that it would seize 30% of Dutch farms to save the climate. This year, polling shows that the newly formed Boer-Burger Beweging (BBB), the farmers’ party, will be the largest single party in Parliament. However, the nature of the parliamentary system is that they still won’t have power, as it’s likely that two leftist parties will join for a voting majority.

For a long time, I’ve said that the left is returning us to a medieval world, one in which the world is dominated by a small group of rich, all-powerful aristocrats. The remainder of the people consists of a slightly larger group of “tradespeople” (i.e., the middle class), and a huge cohort of powerless, impoverished people who live in a world of darkness and hunger.

I’ve since rethought my theory. We’re not medieval, we’re Roman. The medieval world was a Biblical world, while we have reverted to a pagan world, complete with Earth worship and an intense focus on child sexuality. Ironically, though, it’s the powerful people’s Earth worship, though, that may change Holland’s political system for the better.

Most people don’t pay much attention to Holland, because it’s a very small country. That it was one of the most ideologically free countries in the world at the end of the Renaissance and beginning of the Enlightenment, as well as one of the wealthiest (probably thanks to its ideological liberty), doesn’t matter much when it’s just a corner of the European Union.

For that reason, nobody really noticed when the Dutch Parliament passed a law declaring that cattle farming—that is, providing nutrient-rich food for Holland and other countries—is killing Mother Gaia and must be ended. However, the cow patties hit the fan last summer, and for good reason:

According to calculations done by the Finance ministry, a whopping 11 200 livestock farmers will be forced to shut down by the government to reduce nitrogen emissions in order to meet European environmental rules. Another 17 600 farmers would need to reduce the amount of animals they keep to meet these climate goals.

And this is bad. Because there are about 54 000 farms in the Netherlands, meaning that around 1/5 of all farms will be forced to shut down and almost 1/3 of farms forced to scale down and reduce livestock.

Meaning that thousands and thousands of farmers will be losing their livelihoods in order to meet government climate goals.

The Dutch farmers opposed this madness heroically, with massive tractor protests, as well as protests using manure, a point only a farmer can really make.

Many of the Dutch people, being wiser than their politicians, were not angered by the protests, despite any inconvenience they caused. What upset them was the specter of pre-modern starvation. That’s probably why the BBB did very well in the last election:

As initial polling results show, Dutch farmers delivered a stunning blow to the country’s pro-EU establishment by emerging as the biggest political force in Wednesday’s regional elections.

The Boer-Burger Beweging (BBB), or Farmer-Citizen Movement, is set to become the largest party in the country’s senate, winning more seats than Prime Minister Mark Rutte’s ruling conservative VVD party.

According to exit polls, the farmers’ party will get more than 15 seats in a 75-seat senate, a body that has the power to block legislation passed by the lower house of parliament. “The BoerBurgerBeweging (Farmer-Citizen Movement), also known as the BBB, won almost 20 per cent of the vote, giving it 15 seats in the Senate, the upper house of parliament,” The Times of Londonreported.

But all is not wonderful in the lowlands. Holland has a parliamentary system, not a “winner take all” system. Getting lots of people into government doesn’t mean you get what you want (kind of like what happens when conservatives vote in Republicans, only to see them side with Democrats). Parliamentary systems are all about coalitions and, in this case, the second largest voting bloc will be the Groen-Links party (that is, the greenies). The third largest party is the VVD party, the current ruling party—the same one that went along with the Gaia worship in the first place.

Steven Hayward explains what that means:

So Dutch farmers did what every identifiable interest group does in a parliamentary system: they formed their own political party, Farmer-Citizen Movement Party, or BoerBurgerBeweging (BBB) in Dutch. In a high-turnout election earlier this week, the BBB  collected 20 percent of the vote, the largest of any party on the ballot, and 15 of 75 seats in the Dutch Senate. However, the Green Party and a left-labor party also won 15 seats, and are said likely to be part of an ideologically incoherent four-party coalition with current Prime Minister Mark Rutte’s conservative VVD party. In other words, business as usual may continue.

This is example 12,186 of why I hate multi-party parliamentary systems.

In leftist land, even when you win, you lose. But perhaps in the next election, as the crazy green leftists continue to return Holland to a pre-modern state, the BBB will get enough votes to bring some sanity back to Dutch politics, and food back to the Dutch people.
