Police Crackdown on So-Called ‘Far-Right Agitators’ Promised As Anti-Immigration Protests Grow

Police in Ireland are expected to launch a crackdown against so-called “far-right agitators” amid the continued growth of anti-mass immigration protests throughout the country.

An Garda Síochána, Ireland’s national police force, are reportedly expected to make a significant number of arrests in the near future as part of a crackdown on so-called “far-right agitators”, a report on Thursday has claimed.

It comes as unrest in the country grows over the Irish government’s open borders approach to its ongoing migrant crisis, which has seen tens of thousands of migrants from Ukraine and beyond arrive in the country which has a smaller population than many individual U.S. states.

With a growing number of large protests taking place in various regions across the island nation every single night, many authorities and officials have been keen to suggest that the protests — which are grassroots in nature — are in fact being orchestrated by a shadowy “far-right”.

Now, with one activist linked to the ongoing protests having already been detained, the Irish Independent reports that more arrests are to come, with one source telling the publication that the Irish police force is looking into the activities of more than 20 so-called “far-right agitators”.

“There will be more arrests,” the source, who is left unnamed, reportedly promised. “A very close eye is being kept on certain individuals’ online activities, which is translating into problems on the ground.”

However, the current activities by police in the country appear to have so far done little to quell public disquiet, with the number of protesters attending nightly demonstrations actually surging after the arrest of Graham Carey on Wednesday.

A local of Finglas — a part of Dublin which has seen some of the most well-attended demonstrations in the country protesting “unvetted, male migrants” being placed into the community by authorities — Carey was detained by armed police under Section 30 of Ireland’s Offences Against the State Act.

Carey had reportedly taken to social media allegedly tell the force that they would need “every f****** copper in the country” ahead of the ongoing migrant protests in Dublin’s Northside prior to his arrest, despite the fact that the demonstrations have largely taken place without violence thus far, at least on the side of the anti-immigration protesters.

While tensions appear to have flared somewhat in the wake of Carey’s arrest, with there reportedly being some calls for violence at Wednesday’s protest in Finglas, the demonstration appears to have passed off peacefully, with far more people at the demonstration reported as emphasising civility be maintained during the demonstrations.

“We are a peaceful people, a spiritual people,” Gript Media reports local organisers at the protest as telling the gathered crowd. “This is a peaceful assembly, let the energy rise.”

“We have a right to be heard,” they continued. “We need to get serious, and we need to not give anybody an excuse. These people are coming into Ireland unchecked and unvetted.”

“It’s all about the numbers and we build and we build and we build until we have the numbers,” the speakers went on to say.

India: Pressure to convert to Islam by Muslim in-laws drives Hindu to suicide

Source – OpIndia

23-year-old Dushyant Chaudhary committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan at his house in the Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh. As per the family of the deceased, Dushyant was forced to take such an extreme step as he was being pressured by his wife and in-laws to convert to Islam. This incident happened in the Chitrakoot colony in Meerut’s Nauchandi locality.

As per Upendra Singh Yadav (SHO, Nauchandi), Dushyant went to his room to sleep on Saturday night. When he did not come out of his room till late on Sunday morning, his mother Shiksha Devi went to wake him up and found his body hanging from the ceiling fan. She immediately informed the police, which came and then sent the dead body for post-mortem and further examination.

As per Dushyant’s cousin, Farah lured him into a relationship and both married three years ago without the permission of their families. Since the marriage happened without the consent of Dushyant’s family members, the two were living separately. She and her family members kept insisting that he should embrace Islam.

“Farah and her family members – her father Hanif, mother, brothers Amjad and Ibrahim, sisters and 7-8 unknown accomplices – also took Dushyant to Deoband to make him convert to Islam. They were harassing him mentally and physically. On the morning of 29 Jan 2023, Dushyant spoke to Farah for half an hour from 4.30 – 5 AM. Tired of the constant harassment, he hung himself to death,” the FIR states.

Despite the family’s statement in FIR about forced conversion attempts by Farha’s family, Meerut Police have invoked only abetment to suicide charge against them, tweeted journalist Swati Goel Sharma.

Swati added that at one point Dushyant did give in to the pressure and converted to Islam. But he soon reverted to his Hindu ways, which was unacceptable to his wife’s family. They took away his wife and daughter with them, putting the condition that he must read Kalma again and serve Tablighi Jamaat for 40 days. But Dushyant did not give in to their pressure and returned to his parents house.

However, the toll of being separated from his family, especially his child, took a heavy toll and he finally ended his life, becoming another victim of the Abrahamic compulsion to spread their religion by any means necessary.

Senators Demand Online Censorship After Public Backlash Against Mass Migration Explodes in Ireland

screen grab youtube

A number of Irish senators have called for stricter censorship to be implemented online after a sudden surge in public backlash against the ongoing migrant crisis plaguing the country.

Multiple senators in Ireland have made public calls for online censorship in Ireland to be tightened in the wake of growing disquiet over the country’s pro-open borders approach to its ongoing migrant crisis, which has seen tens of thousands of people arrive in a country of just five million over the last twelve months.

With the country having a population much smaller than that of many individual U.S. states, the impact of the thousands of arrivals has been devastating for many local communities, with many ordinary Irish people now struggling to find affordable accommodation in the country as the government focuses on housing both Ukrainian and non-Ukrainian migrants from abroad.

Such a political decision, which has also largely been backed by the country’s main opposition party, Sinn Féin, has sparked significant disquiet amongst the general public with a growing number of protests taking place across the country against the policy of moving hundreds of asylum seekers into local areas that are already struggling with housing supply issues.

In response to this growing resistance, senators from a variety of parties and none across the nation’s parliament have called for censorship to be stepped up online in the hopes that it will curb growing resistance to mass migration.

Speaking in the country’s Seanad Éireann on Tuesday, leftist Senator Marie Sherlock attempted to link general “anti-refugee sentiment” to an alleged violent incident that is said to have occurred at a migrant camp located in the country’s capital of Dublin.

Described as involving men with dogs and a baseball bat attacking a migrant camp in the capital, significant questions have been raised regarding the accuracy of legacy media reporting of the attack, with multiple major outlets in the country having since amended reports on the incident after discrepancies were highlighted by reports published in online news publication Gript Media.

“We have all seen the anti-refugee sentiment present now in many of our communities,” Senator Sherlock claimed in reference to the alleged incident that is now being investigated by police.

“There are, of course, many things the Government and the State can do to try to head off the rise in this very ugly sentiment,” she continued. “Some of the largest social media platform companies have their Europe, Middle East and Asia, EMEA, headquarters here in Dublin.”

“These social media platforms can do many things in respect of security checks, anonymous accounts, as we all know, and content moderation,” she went on to say.

Such a call was backed by independent Senator Eileen Flynn, who claimed that, while new legislation did not need to be put in place, social media companies needed to increase censorship in Ireland.

“We all have freedom of speech and should have freedom of speech but when your speech becomes a threat and becomes hate towards a community or individual, it is no longer freedom of speech. What you are doing is hate speech,” she told the Irish senate.

“Nobody is really safe around social media. We need to look at how we can keep people safe,” she added. The senator continued: “what we need is for Facebook, Twitter and all those apps and social media platforms to be able to act to protect ordinary citizens.”

Another politician, Senator Mark Daly from the government Fianna Fáil party, also decried social media, describing it as being a “wild west” with “people hiding behind it being able to say things that they would not be able to get away with in other media.”

The debate was then eventually finalised by Ireland’s senate leader and Daly’s fellow Fianna Fáil party member, Lisa Chambers, who agreed that the government must ” try to tackle” the growing anti-mass migration sentiment on social media, adding that she will request that the government further look into the issue.

Hungarian constitutional court upholds name-change ban for transgenders

The Hungarian Constitutional Court (AB) ruled on Thursday that a 2022 law prohibiting name changes for transsexuals in official documents is not against the country’s fundamental law.

“The fact that the State registers the individual’s sex at birth instead of or in addition to his or her self-identified sex, which corresponds to his or her gender identity, as a result of sex reassignment treatment, may be justified for several reasons,” the AB said in its ruling.

“On the one hand, an individual’s right to healthcare may require the inclusion of his or her sex at birth in civil registers as an indispensable piece of information about the individual provided to the healthcare institution, which may, for example, be necessary for the provision of appropriate healthcare,” it said.

“On the other hand, the need for the criminal authorities to know the sex of the suspect or offender may also be at the forefront of State criminal policy, just as it may be relevant in sports law or even in labor law.”

The AB added that “therefore, in the view of the Constitutional Court, the restriction of the privacy of the individual by the recording of his or her sex as data in the civil registry procedure cannot be considered either unnecessary or disproportionate. The Constitutional Court, therefore, rejected the judicial initiative.”

The Background Society, an NGO promoting LGBT rights, which brought the matter to the AB in the first place, said that the court’s ruling was based on technicalities instead of fundamental rights, and it will, therefore, bring the issue to the European Court of Human Rights.

Canadian ‘solidarity’ means no LNG for EU

Western energy solidarity is running out of steam. Canada is currently offering a chilling example of how Western “partners” should not treat each other.

When the EU announced its renunciation of Russian gas supplies in response to the war in Ukraine in spring 2022, all European governments praised the switch to liquefied natural gas – also known as LNG gas – as a great (and much more expensive) alternative.

The US and Canada, among others, were touted as suppliers who should step in to make up for the sanctioned Russian gas deliveries.

While the American LNG industry is now benefiting greatly from the loss of Russian competition, Canada is no longer sticking to its earlier aid commitments. The country does not want to build transhipment terminals for shipping LNG gas to Europe – citing concerns about “climate protection”.

In order to ship LNG to Europe, new LNG terminals would have to be built on Canada’s east coast. But the provinces there are opposed to such a project.

Canada’s western provinces of British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan currently supply the Asian market. From there, gas flows through pipelines to the United States and further to eastern Canada. There are no terminals on the east coast for LNG transport to Europe.

Canadian politicians have now made it absolutely clear that this is to remain the case. In doing so, the country is missing out on a huge opportunity in the midst of the gas crisis, while at the same time letting Europe down.

The behavior of the province of Québec is exemplary. In the summer of 2021, almost eight months before the Ukraine war broke out, the Quebec government decided to reduce its CO2 emissions by using low-carbon energy sources. It therefore refused approval for the $14 billion Energie Saguenay LNG export project. It should have transported natural gas from western Canada to a liquefaction and export terminal in Saguenay, Quebec. This would have required a new 780-kilometer gas pipeline from northern Ontario.

Quebec Premier Francois Legault initially supported the project but later changed his mind. One reason for this was local opposition, including a politically active and vocal group of environmentalists. Even the Ukraine war did not change the situation. What’s more, Québec has now started to ban all oil and gas production. This happened seven weeks after the outbreak of war in Ukraine.

Canada took part in a March 24 meeting with the International Energy Agency last year and made an explicit promise there that it would help Europe to replace Russian supplies of coal, oil and natural gas.

Canada’s Minister of Natural Resources, Jonathan Wilkinson, said Canada has the capacity to increase its oil and gas exports by up to 300 000 barrels per day by 2022 to improve global energy security following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Therefore, “Canada is exploring options to replace Russian gas with LNG from Canada, following requests from European countries”.

It turned out to be just empty promises as Canada’s “solidarity” with its European partners is non-existent.

Blackouts in northern Germany

Energy experts have long warned the German government about power outages if they pursue their current political course.  Now the long-feared emergency struck, initially “only” in the Harz, highland area in northern Germany. The first major blackout occurred there in the night from Sunday to Monday – the power was off for several hours. The power went out for four hours in Halberstadt and Blankenburg (Saxony-Anhalt). Tens of thousands of households sat in the dark, while hospitals had to switch to emergency power.

The first fluctuations in the power grid were already evident early on Sunday evening. The official reason given was some isolated iced and then torn power lines. From 10 pm the electricity in the Harz district was largely gone. The cell phone network was also down. The fire brigade had to man the equipment sheds in order to set off an alarm by radio in an emergency.

At the same time, the hospital in Halberstadt prepared for emergencies: “Our emergency power generator switched on immediately, and all critical areas could be supplied.” MRI and CT were shut down to save electricity.

At 10:38 pm, the state government in Magdeburg sent an official hazard notification to all cell phones: “Help the elderly, stock up on drinking water, prepare for an evacuation.” Another message followed at 0:27 am: “It is not foreseeable when a reconnection can be expected.”

The fire brigade began to move the first seriously ill people to ensure the continuity of artificial respiration.

The electricity only came back on at 2 am, four hours after the first outage. The danger report was canceled after another hour and a half – but in the morning thousands of households were suddenly without electricity again. The supply was not restored until 12:30 pm.

There was no reason to rejoice however, because on Tuesday the local network operator Avacon felt compelled to announce on its website that further disruptions could not be ruled out.

Big oil are the big winners

US oil producers “have raked in more than $200bn in profits” due to Western sanctions which sent global energy prices soaring.

China has meanwhile positioned itself in the Ukraine conflict with unusual clarity. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning on Monday openly named the United States as the culprit in the war in Ukraine: “The United States are the ones who triggered the Ukraine crisis.” The United States was also “the biggest factor fueling the crisis”.

And another reproach leveled at Washington was that by supplying Ukraine with heavy and offensive weapons, the US was prolonging and intensifying the conflict.

Mao Ning made the allegations in response to a question about American allegations that Chinese companies might be supporting the Russian side. The spokeswoman spoke of “unfounded suspicions” and “baseless blackmail”.

Why Muslims of the Indian subcontinent are always on the streets over alleged ‘blasphemy’ but Gulf Muslims never take to the streets

These protests calling for beheadings are common place in Indian subcontinent

Recently, Rasmus Paludan, the leader of the Danish far-right political party Hard Line, burnt a copy of the Quran in Sweden. The act outside the Turkish embassy was supposedly a protest against Turkey and its opposition to Sweden’s entry into NATO, but it offended Muslims worldwide. A couple of days later, the Dutch leader of the far-right group, Patriotic Europeans Against the Islamisation of the West (PEGIDA), destroyed a copy of the Quran in the Netherlands before setting it on fire.

Predictably, the Quran burning in Sweden led to public protests in Turkey since it was aimed at them. Countries like Egypt, Iraq, Iran, Lebanon, and Indonesia also saw such protests against the incident. When it comes to protests against Quran burnings, one name you can always rely on to appear, yes, Pakistan saw public protests as well. Just like Pakistan is always certain to appear in this list, there is one influential group that is almost certain never to appear, the Gulf countries.

The Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC) comprises 6 countries, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Oman. Together, they are one of the most influential countries in the world. All 6 countries are Islamic, and in Saudi Arabia, one of the members is the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques as well. After incidents of Quran burnings elsewhere or any other blasphemy against Islam religion, even if the governments of these countries express their displeasure, the people never come out to protest on the streets.

Unlike the Indian subcontinent, where Muslims in India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh are always out on the streets any time such ‘blasphemy’ occurs, Muslims in these countries are never on the streets shouting ‘sar tan se juda’ slogans, never burning effigies to express their anger, and most certainy never damaging any public property over it.

Even during the Nupur Sharma episode in 2022, when the former BJP spokesperson was accused of ‘blasphemy’, all GCC countries officially expressed their displeasure and wrote to the Indian government, there were no public protests in these countries by locals. If anyone protested, like the one protest in Kuwait where Indians protested, they were swiftly deported.

On the other hand, India saw protests every Friday for weeks, most of them violent in nature, over the same issue. Pakistan and Bangladesh also saw massive public protests full of angry Muslims demanding death for the ‘blasphemer’.

This got me thinking, why do Muslims in only some countries, like the Indian subcontinent, always take to the streets, and why Muslims in some Islamic countries never do the same? Some of the reasons that lead to this dichotomy could be as follows:

The difference in general law & order

Law and Order situation in Gulf countries is infinitely better than the situation in India. With all the riches of petrodollars, GCC countries can afford to spend significant sums on their local police force and provide them with the best equipment that money can buy. The much smaller populations compared to the countries in the subcontinent also make implementing law and order easier.

On the other hand, in the subcontinent, the police force is already stretched thin as it is, and this additional burden of controlling such protests gets a little overwhelming for the cops. During Islamic protests in India, if stone-pelting breaks out, we frequently see policemen wearing bike helmets to save their heads. That is the only anti-riot gear most of them are equipped with.

Interestingly, with this strict implementation of law & order, even the Muslims from the sub-continent don’t take to the streets while living in these countries. They know that they can’t riot with impunity there and any protest will mean a quick deportation or jail or fine, or all 3!

No political backing to violent protests in Gulf

In the Indian subcontinent, whenever any violence happens during such protests, one can always trace their links to a political party. In Pakistan and Bangladesh, they can do it directly and openly, while in India, most of them provide logistical support while trying to remain in the background. This political support ensures them the votes in return of those people, while the protesters get to run riot with impunity knowing that they will be saved by their political backers and their battery of lawyers if the need arises.

All the Gulf countries are monarchies, there is no democracy to speak of in these countries so nobody needs to play such gambits to ensure votes. There are some local elections for Shura Councils but at the end of the day, Royal decrees announce all the important decisions and the King rules with unchecked powers.

No complex, and hence no need to prove themselves as the “True Muslims” in Gulf

Even if Pakistanis keep tracing their ancestry to Turkey or the Arab world or some other part from time to time, the fact is that most of the Muslims in the Indian subcontinent are the ones whose forefathers converted during Islamic invasions. Unlike the Gulf, where Islam originated and most of the early adherents of Islam came from there, who then spread it around the world.

There is a saying in Hindi “Naya Mulla jyada pyaz khata hai”, which basically means that a new convert always tries to show that he is even better. The Muslims of the sub-continent are always eager to show that they are even more Muslims than the Arabs, so they go the extra mile to prove their Muslim identity. This involves taking personal offense after every alleged blasphemy around the world and then taking to the streets to protest for the same.

The desire to exhibit street power among Muslims in Indian sub-continent

For varying reasons, Muslims in the Indian sub-continent always have the desire to exhibit their street power. From taking up roads and public spaces for their prayers to blocking entire roads during these regular protests and stone-pelting, the exhibition of street power is always at play. When an Akbaruddin Owaisi says “remove police for 15 minutes”, it is not appearing out of thin air. It stems from the belief that they do have street power.

On the other hand, in Gulf, there is no such desire to exhibit on the streets who has all the power, that is pretty much settled.

So, to conclude, what we see is that Islam is there same everywhere, but Islamic protests are not. This is not to assume that the Muslims in the Gulf are not offended by or harbour the same sentiments as the subcontinent Muslims – perhaps more so.

However, they don’t come out on the streets because they are already in an Islamic nation that adheres to the principles of Islam rather strictly – that coupled with the fact that they have no interest in proving that they are “true Muslims”, given that they actually are, and with their economic affluence, they have no motivation to come out on the streets and protest.

Fresh calls for UK to ditch European human rights laws to take back control of its borders

sreen grab youtube

Conservative MPs who supported Britain’s withdrawal from the European Union have called for the country to either ignore or ditch the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR), which they claim is preventing the country from protecting its borders.

Speaking at the eurosceptic think tank European Foundation, Brexit-backing Jonathan Gullis MP told an audience of senior Brexiteers the government must not be afraid to tackle the ECHR issue head-on, insisting government policy should not be subject to the approval of foreign courts.

“Taking back control was also about taking back our borders. It is simply unacceptable that 44,000 people came to this country illegally last year,” Gullis said.

“We should not be afraid to, at the very least, derogate from the European Court of Human Rights as we did with prisoners’ voting rights. If the ECHR doesn’t like it, we will have on the table that we will leave the ECHR come what may. This country must have control of its borders,” he added.

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has vowed to make tackling illegal immigration one of his highest priorities and pledged his support for the Rwanda policy introduced by Boris Johnson’s administration, which would see illegal immigrants arriving in Britain deported to the African nation.

The policy, however, has been fraught with difficulty after the European Court on Human Rights intervened to prevent the first flight of deportations from embarking in June last year.

Former Home Secretary Priti Patel told the Daily Mail newspaper, “The meddling of the European Court of Human Rights to block flights to Rwanda only serves to support those who wish to abuse our asylum system and evil criminal gangs.

“It must stop, and it is right that we now act to curtail the powers of the European Court,” she added.

A record number of 45,756 people unlawfully arrived in Britain via small boats across the English Channel last year, according to Home Office figures. This was up significantly on the 28,561 crossings recorded. in 2021, which had also been a record year.

Campaigners against illegal immigration say the country’s asylum system has collapsed due to the influx, and the government has been left with no option but to spend exorbitant amounts of taxpayer money on block-booking hotels to accommodate them, a move that has caused social unrest in villages and towns across the country.

Local residents have often taken to the streets in protest about new arrivals in their area, citing concerns about security and the lack of local services to support them.
