Clear majority of Austrians say no to war

According to a recent survey by Unique Research, 65 percent of Austrians want Ukraine to stop fighting. They want peace talks. It is interesting to also note that only Green voters want fighting to continue.

The effects of the war are becoming more and more dramatic. A current survey done for the magazine Heute is therefore unsurprisingly very clear: the Austrians have had enough. They feel that Ukraine should finally sit down at the negotiating table with Russia, even if that means giving up territory.

Escalation spiral continues

“There are no compromises with the Russians,” according to Ukrainian President Zelensky. Not only has he demanded battle tanks, but Kiev wants cluster munitions and phosphorus bombs. The reason for the constant escalation lies not least in the situation at the front. After months of fighting with thousands of dead, the Donbass “fortress” Bakhmut is about to fall.

Only Greens are still for war

While many European politicians (and much of the media) continue  their warmongering, a peace movement is therefore sweeping through Austria. The war is only still popular among the Greens. Some 49 percent of the former pacifist party want Ukraine to keep fighting while 48 percent want peace – the rest are unsure.

Le Pen most likely to win future French presidency after Macron’s pension reform push, writes UK paper

One of the most popular French opposition politicians, Marine Le Pen, is the most likely to win the next elections in 2027, writes British newspaper The Times.

The right-leaning politician’s position has been strengthened by her strong stance over the last two weeks against the government’s proposed pension reform. She has been sharply critical of President Emmanuel Macron, who wants to keep French people working longer by extending the retirement age by two years from 62 to 64.

While addressing to French Prime Minister Élisabeth Borne, Le Pen said during a speech in parliament last month: “Is it good for the country to start this year by proposing a retirement reform that seeks to raise the age of retirement, something that 70% of French are opposed to? The government speaks of courage, but it is not courage to make French people, especially those who started working at an early age, pay for the failures of the policies of these last years.”

Le Pen was referring to polling which has consistently shown that the French public is overwhelmingly opposed to Macron’s pension reform. Her stance is winning over many French, and the British newspaper points out that her popularity has been on the rise recently, in fact it has been rising steadily since the elections last April thanks to Le Pen’s growing approval among the working- and lower-middle classes. The Times also highlights the current European context showing a move towards conservative and right-leaning parties, which is favorable for Le Pen, particularly with regard to the election of Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.

They point to a poll by Harris Interactive published at the end of January, which showed that 35 percent of respondents trust Le Pen, up from 29 percent in January 2022.

By contrast, Emmanuel Macron’s popularity is in decline, with the French president’s approval the lowest in three years, according to a survey conducted by Ifop for Le Journal du Dimanche. That poll shows that French people are less and less happy with the French head of state, with now only 32 percent saying yes to the question of whether they are satisfied with the leadership. The French president’s popularity has fallen by 2 percent in a month, to the lowest level since the outbreak of the coronavirus three years ago.

Compared with the results of a month ago, Macron’s popularity has fallen, especially among Republican Party supporters, who are 12 percent less likely to vote for him than before. However, even among supporters of the governing party, Macron’s popularity has fallen by 4 percent.

The poll also shows that Prime Minister Élisabeth Borne is not faring any better, with her popularity down by 3 percent to 29 percent, the lowest level since she took office. The dramatic drop in the popularity of the French head of state and prime minister is largely due to the pension reform, which has provoked strong opposition.

Germany: Tenants have to move out of their flat because of refugees

The housing association Lörrach has terminated the tenancy agreements of numerous tenants in order to accommodate Ukrainian refugees in their flats. However, new accommodation will be made available to the residents, an employee of the company told the newspaper JUNGE FREIHEIT. “No one will end up living on the street.”

In a letter to the residents, the authenticity of which the construction company confirmed to the newspaper JF, it says: “As you know, Germany is experiencing a considerable influx of refugees from Ukraine and other regions of the world. The city of Lörrach and the district are also obliged to accommodate refugees.” The municipality is located directly on the border with Switzerland.

Because of the “special suitability” of the flats in several properties in the city, it had been decided to make them available for the Ukrainians. For the tenants this means that the housing association will soon “terminate the agreed tenancy”. The existing residents will be offered “suitable living space” and helped to move.

Already “shortly the first flats will become available” for refugees to move into. “The plan is that around the end of the year the entire complex can be used as a refugee home.” The residents were invited to individual meetings with the management.

India: Muslim family kidnaps and converts teenage daughter of Hindu neighbour

Representational Image (File Photo)

A woman has accused her neighbour, Waiz Mohammed, and his relatives of kidnapping her 19-year-old daughter and forcibly converting her religion.

The woman, in a complaint to the police, alleged that her daughter was so shocked that she lost her mental balance after the incident and even tried to commit suicide.

Police said that an FIR under Section 366 of the IPC (inducing woman to compel her for marriage) and under the Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Act, 2021, has been lodged.

SHO, Haidergarh, Ajay Tripathi, said that first a complaint related to a 19-year-old girl going missing was lodged in November.

The police recovered the girl on Saturday from the Lucknow-Barabanki border and handed her over to the family.

The mother of the girl, Suman Pathak has alleged that she was lured by her neighbour Waiz and his parents for a job. Later, she was forced to change her religion.

“Suman also claimed that her daughter was subjected to such a brutal torture that it has had an impact on her mental health,” said the SHO.

Tripathi added that the statements of the girl recovered are yet to be recorded in front of a magistrate.

“We will also ask her who abducted her and where she stayed from November to February,” said the SHO.

Police said that Suman used to eke out a living by washing dishes in the neighbourhood.

Biggest Islamic seminary in India issues fatwa saying shaving beard is not allowed in Islam, students who trim or shave to be expelled

Image used for representational purpose

On Monday, Darul Uloom Deoband, the biggest Islamic seminary in India issued a fatwa warning the students against trimming their beards. The seminary stated that any student who would trim or shave his beard would be ostracized from the institution.

According to the reports, the notice was issued by Maulana Hussain Ahmad Haridwari, who oversees Darul Uloom’s education division. He mentioned in the notice that shaving or trimming of beard is a wrong practice as per Islam and that the students at the college shall never get their beards shaved.

The letter made it quite clear that any current student who shaves would be dismissed from the university. It added that any student attempting to enter the university for the next semester by shaving off his beard would not be admitted to the premises.

Reiterating that the students who shave beards would be ostracized, the notice stated that the university would not tolerate student disobedience. The fatwa further recalled that on February 6, four of the Darul Uloom Deoband students were dismissed for trimming their beards. Reports mention that the students had issued a letter of apology to the seminary, but the latter did not heed.

The fatwa issued by the seminary has been welcomed by the Ulema of Deoband, Maulana Mufti Asad Qasmi. Maulana Mufti Asad Qasmi of Madrasa Jamia Sheikhul Hind, who is also a former student of Darul Uloom said that everything that Hazrat Mohammad Sahib has adopted is Sunnat. “Every Muslim should spend his life by following Sunnat and Shariah principles. It is Sunnah to keep a handful of beards in Islam. If the beard growing more than this is cut, then there is no harm in it. But it should be maintained,” he said.

Earlier, the Ulema had issued a fatwa against Mulsim women and had barred them from taking “unnecessary photographs” and uploading them on social media. Also, Darul Uloom Deoband had issued a fatwa against the Mulsim women from shaping eyebrows or donning a haircut. The seminary had said that any woman who shapes eyebrows or gets a haircut is indulging in un-Islamic behaviour.

Spain Decriminalizes Sex With Animals

Spain was a great nation. It threw off Muslim occupation and spread an empire across the globe, from Mexico to the Philippines. But it fell into decline, and cultural rot set in. Instead of taking the lead in spreading Western Civilization, Spain now leads in hastening its collapse through moonbattery:

On Thursday, the Spanish Parliament approved a new Animal Welfare Law that decriminalizes bestiality so long as the creature does not receive “an injury that requires veterinary treatment.”

According to Mundotoro, “Bestiality will no longer be considered a criminal offense if there are no injuries to the animal. This is established by the new Penal Code through the new Animal Welfare Law promoted by Minister Ione Belarra that was approved in Congress on February 9.”

If a pervert figures his dog doesn’t need a veterinarian to stop the anal bleeding, all is copacetic — or at least, inclusive.

Ione Belarra is Minister of Social Rights. Liberals have done to the word “rights” what they did to the word “liberal.”

On pain of cancelation, we are now required to revere perversions that were universally reviled only recently. How long before bestiophobes lose their jobs for not approving of raping animals?

Ireland’s rallies against immigration wave? More battles in a larger culture war

by  HERMANN KELLY

Hermann Kelly, the president of the Irish Freedom Party, says that Ireland cannot sustain higher immigration.

The world has started to take notice of the increasing frequency and size of rallies in Ireland on the issue of immigration. Many people are asking, what is this about?

In typical Irish fashion, it’s not just a numbers game as it’s much more than that.

But the figures are startling. In 2022, over 286,000 new social security (PPS) numbers were given out by the state. Less than 23 percent, or 65,000, went to people born in Ireland. The number of social security numbers issued to people from other EU countries and from countries outside of the EU both outnumbered those to Irish nationals.

Given the population of Ireland South has increased by 46 percent since 1990 — from 3.5 million people to over 5 million people today — it’s clear a dramatic change in demographics is taking place in Ireland, especially as our birth rate is currently 1.5 children per woman. More on that later.

But no one ever asked the people of Ireland whether they consent to the new plantation or colonisation of Ireland. We had it before in the 17th century and it didn’t work out so well for the natives.

Over the last two months, rallies against uncontrolled, unvetted immigration have been increasing in frequency and size. Those who participate are mainly working-class people and concerned parents worried about whether their children will be able in the future to rent an apartment or even walk around their community in safety. In contrast to the government-financed NGO worker-heavy, middle-class, open-borders protesters, the #MakeIrelandSafeAgain rally participants are often young women with buggies and kids in tow. Indeed, a popular meme symbolising the rallies is a woman pushing a buggy. The rallies against uncontrolled immigration have been fastidiously peaceful and good-humoured so far. There has been violence, but solely from far-left counter-protesters who have on three occasions in three weeks driven their cars into rally participants. One Marxist fanatic has already been charged with running his car into a peaceful protester and endangering life during a rally in East Wall, central Dublin, last week.

People are protesting against the government’s immigration policy, which in practical terms is pretty much open border chaos. Discussion about immigration in Ireland has been more or less much Verboten by the mainstream political and media class for decades, but TV programmes on this issue are currently coming in thick and fast.

It was revealed during the Prime Time programme on state broadcaster RTE on Thursday, for instance, that over 60 percent of those who fly into Dublin airport to claim asylum say that they have lost their passport between getting on the plane and arriving at the customs kiosk in Dublin. An additional group also presented false papers. So it’s pretty clear that the International Protection procedure is being utterly scammed in Ireland.

The same holds true for the 70,000 or so Ukrainians who get immediate refugee status in Ireland. Whereas the state told the Irish people it would be all women and children, instead, 39 percent of those Ukrainians coming to Ireland are young males — certainly decades under 60 years of age and many with accents and “sun tans” suggesting they are not from Ukraine at all. Many people feel the political class are allowing the country to be taken for a ride, and it is making neighbourhoods far more dangerous. There have been a rash of stabbings, murders, and rapes over the last two years.

The government’s open borders immigration policy is egged on by the left-wing opposition of Sinn Fein, Labour, and People before Profit, whose mantra could easily be: “Brits out, everybody else in.” They are dripping with cultural self-hatred and Hibernophobia, dressed up as pathological altruism for foreigners.

The immigration crisis in Ireland has helped contribute to a significant housing crisis. As the number of immigrants coming into Ireland has increased, so has demand for houses and apartments, and as demand has increased, so too have house prices and rents. In turn, as more low-skilled migrants come in from safe countries such as Georgia and Albania, all claiming asylum, many highly-skilled Irish young people cross them at airports as they fly off to countries where Irish graduates can find a well-paid job, where they can afford a house and start a family. This is one of the core reasons why so many mammies with buggies turn up at the rallies.

But beneath the surface of the rallies, something much more profound is going on. For many of the people attending these rallies, it’s not just about the security and safety of their communities, nor if their children will be able to afford a home in the future. Scratch beneath the surface and it’s clear that a culture war is breaking out in Ireland.

On one side you have patriotic working-class people who love Ireland, who are, if not practicing Catholics, at least sympathetic to Christian teaching, who want to decide what is being taught to their children in school, are wary — indeed opposed — to the state imposing trans ideology on their children. These people instinctively rebel at the idea of foreign control by Big Bureaucrats, Big Tech, Big Banks, and Big Pharma. They would like to see their laws made and borders controlled by people they elect to a parliament in Dublin. And above all, they believe that the laws which should be made in Dublin should be for the benefit of Irish people.

We were not put on Earth to provide free housing, healthcare, and education to the rest of the world. Ireland is more than a wet rock in the middle of the Atlantic, full of rootless, nation-less consumers and producers. No. Ireland is our home, not an economic hostel. We are Irish, we are a people and a nation, bound by history and culture, by faith and by family to this land. We are a nation, not a colony, and we will not allow a second plantation of Ireland to take place.

In November 2018, the Irish Freedom Party organised a rally outside the Irish Parliament against the U.N. Migration Pact which dealt with illegal migration by, in a fashion, making it all legal by a stroke of a pen and rendering borders virtually meaningless. What started small with a crowd of 150 was the first successful right-of-centre rally in Ireland for many decades. What started off as a small acorn has started to take root and to grow. More people are now working for the beginning of a new national flourishing of Ireland where personal freedom, peace, prosperity, and national sovereignty can once again take root and grow.

Hermann Kelly is the founder and president of the Irish Freedom Party. He is from the Bogside in Derry and was once an editor of an Irish Catholic newspaper before becoming a columnist at the Irish Examiner and Irish Daily Mail. He worked as a press officer for the Eurosceptic EFDD group in the European Parliament for 10 years and currently works as a press officer for Romanian ECR MEP Cristian Terheș. As a guest writer, the above copy remains in British English.

EPP berates Berlusconi: ‘Support for Ukraine is not optional’

Silvio Berlusconi, FI leader. Facebook

European People’s Party (EPP) President Manfred Weber on Friday cancelled an event scheduled to take place in Naples this year in protest to comments by ex-premier and Forza Italia (FI) leader Silvio Berlusconi criticizing Ukrainian President Zelensky.

“Following the remarks by Silvio Berlusconi on Ukraine we decided to cancel our study days in Naples,” Weber said via Twitter.

The decision by the centre-right group in the European parliament sparked an angry reaction from FI’s politicians.

‘Support for Ukraine is not optional’

Berlusconi recently said he would never have met with Zelensky as Italian Premier Giorgia Meloni did on the sidelines of an EU summit in Brussels, adding that he had a “very, very negative” view of Zelensky’s conduct, suggesting that Moscow had been provoked into intervening in an already ongoing conflict in the Russian-speaking Donbass.

The EPP, which Forza Italia belongs to, publicly criticized Berlusconi on Friday. Weber singled out Berlusconi, but carefully noted that Forza Italia and its national coordinator, Foreign Minister and Deputy Premier Antonio Tajani, “have our full support”.

“We continue the cooperation with the Italian government on EU topics,” he added.

Meloni’s government, which governs with FI support, has been backing Ukrainefollowing the eruption of further hostilities, as did the previous executive of ex-premier Mario Draghi.

Tajani unhappy about EPP’s meddling

Tajani did not appreciate being singled out for Weber’s “support”. Instead he complained about the EPP intervening directly in domestic political party issues. “Berlusconi is Forza Italia. Forza Italia is Berlusconi,” Tajani tweeted. “I don’t agree with the decision to postpone the Naples meeting. Berlusconi and FI have always voted in the same way as the EPP on Ukraine”.

FI’s parliamentary whips, Licia Ronzulli and Alessandro Cattaneo, also signalled their anger in a statement, calling on Weber “not to intervene again”.

The statement continued: “The question is not just the cancellation of the study days, which harms not just the party, but Italy too, but also the desire to enter into the internal life of a party… excluding its leaders. This is unacceptable”.

Cancelling Russian artists

Last week the Russian foreign ministry summoned the Italian Ambassador in Moscow Giorgio Starace to express its “bewilderment” to the ambassador about the “recent cancellation of cultural events of Russian artists in Italy”.

It also said that it had informed Starace of Moscow’s assessments of “the current provision of weapons and military equipment to the Kiev regime, including offensive arms, the training of Ukrainian military personnel and, in general, the Western line of provoking an escalation of the conflict”.

At least 58 percent of Italians do not want to send weapons to Ukraine, according to a recent poll by Euromedia Research. The respondents fear, in particular, that “Germany’s decision to send Leopard tanks – and on the whole continuous sending of weapons to Kiev” may lead to an escalation of the conflict with the possibility of direct involvement of NATO.

At least 68.5 percent are against the entry of NATO into the conflict in Ukraine and only 16.2 percent are in favor.

Left implodes in regional elections

Center-right candidates have meanwhile held their ground in elections in Italy’s two most populous and key regions. According to preliminary election results, Regional President Attilio Fontana of the Lega managed to win re-election in Lombardy with the financial metropolis of Milan. In Lazio, with the capital Rome, the right-wing candidate Francesco Rocca won.

The lawyer Fontana, who has been President of Lombardy for five years, received 56 percent of the votes in Lombardy. His Social Democrat challenger, MEP Pierfrancesco Majorino, won a meager 32 percent of the vote.

More importantly, a political turning point is taking place in Lazio after ten years under the leadership of a centre-left alliance. In the region with the capital Rome, Francesco Rocca, candidate of the right-wing party Fratelli d’Italia, asserted himself and defeated the social democratic competitor Alessio D’Amato with a solid 50 percent of the votes. The Fratelli d’Italia came to 33 percent – another four percent more than in the parliamentary elections in September.

The Social Democrats of the Partito Democratico (PD – Democratic Party) suffered another defeat after embarrassing themselves in September’s general elections.

India: Islamist mob vandalizes Hindu temple, attacks devotees & Pujari

An Islamist mob led by a man named Sihab Uddin vandalized the yagnasthal (place for doing yagna) in Assam’s Karimganj district. The mob also attacked Hindu devotees and the Pujari. The incident took place in South Karimganj’s Nilambazar Kalibari Mandir.

Sihab Uddin was attempting to illegally increase his land area by grabbing the Mandir’s land. He built a tubewell at the Mandir entrance for this purpose. When the Mandir committee requested him to remove the same, he and his Islamist followers desecrated the Mandir and vandalized the yagnasthal. The violent mob did not stop at this and went on to attack both the devotees and members of the Mandir committee including the Pujari.

The police have arrested Sihab Uddin while other Islamists have managed to escape. The police are on the lookout for absconders. Hindu organizations including RSS and VHP have demanded action against the culprits.

Karimganj is one of the districts on the Assam-Nepal border where the Muslim population has increased by approximately 32 per cent and police have recorded active Islamist infiltration.
