Queen Mary University of London Student Union Votes to Disaffiliate with National Union of Students over Firing of Accused Antisemite
The Student Union of Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) has voted to dissociate from the National Union of Students (NUS).
According to The Tab, a student publication, the move was an act of protest against NUS firing its former president, Shaima Dallali, whom the union dismissed after internal investigators determined that she is guilty of antisemitism and other misconduct.
“Recently the NUS, for the first time in its entire history, removed its democratically elected President,” said a motion brought before the union. “The removal of an elected leader is an affront to the democratic natures that the NUS purports to obtain.”
The motion also charged that NUS has “contributed to the spread of anti-Palestinian racism,” arguing that Dallali’s firing “reflects a political context that has sought to toxify Palestine and is part of a wider pattern of endemic and systematic bigotry and prejudice.”
“Jewish students at QMUL have been clear throughout the debate that these motions would lead to an environment on campus which is hostile for Jewish students, leading to division and preventing the very measures needed for peace,” QMUL Jewish Society (JSoc) saidafter the motion passed. “They now feel betrayed and let down by their Students’ Union, with many Jewish students now feeling unsafe in their own Students’ Union which shrugs its shoulders at the expense of Jewish students.”
The National Union of Students (NUS), which represents over seven million university students in the UK, removed Shaima Dallali from office in November, ending a tenure that brimmed with controversy ever since Jewish student rights groups discovered tweets in which she called Hamas critics “Dirty Zionists” and quoted the battle cry, “Khaybar, Khaybar o Jews, the army of Muhammad will return,” a reference to the Battle of Khaybar in 628 that resulted in a massacre of Jews.
Dallali has also praised the extremist Islamic preacher Yusuf al-Qaradawi, who supports Palestinian suicide bombers and is banned from visiting four western countries and regarded as a terrorist by several Arab states, including Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates.
She has since threatened to sue NUS for discrimination.
“Ms. Dallali rejects the findings of the disciplinary panel, as she rejected the allegations about her that were investigated in the context of those investigations,” said a press release by Carter-Ruck Solicitors, a law firm based in London. “She considers the process to have constituted — and that it continues to constitute — discriminatory treatment of her as a black Muslim woman and her beliefs concerning the plight of the Palestinian people.”

What did the biggest anti-terror raid in German history uncover?
Some 36 hours after the largest raid in the history of Germany, there are increasing indications that the investigators apparently did not find the expected arsenal of weapons. The Attorney General has offered no explanation.
The massive raid continues to make waves, especially after more than 3 000 police officers searched more than 150 properties across Germany on Wednesday. At least 27 people were arrested and another 25 are being investigated. They are said to have planned an extensive armed coup.
But what have the investigators actually found in this unprecedented large-scale operation?
According to the Federal Criminal Police Office, weapons were found in 50 of the 150 locations searched. That sounds like an operation with a high risk potential, but conveys very little. In the past, baseball bats, Swiss army knives and brass knuckles were also considered “weapons” in comparable large-scale operations.
It is still not clear if the authorities have found machine guns, grenades or actual firearms. It would presumably take more than a handful of kitchen knives to launch a so-called planned military coup.
Attorney General is unusually unresponsive
Berlin weekly Junge Freiheit therefore sent the Federal Public Prosecutor a comprehensive catalog of questions about what items had been confiscated, how many firearms were among them and which of them were illegal. In view of the extent of the raid and the importance that Nancy Faeser’s (SPD) interior ministry has attached to it, it can be ruled out that the authorities do not know this already.
However, the Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office refuses to respond to the JF request: A spokesman asked “for your understanding that we are currently not commenting on the evidence found during the search measures – which have not yet been completed”.
It is apparently completely unclear why questions are raised in this regard or when the public will be informed. As a reminder, Faeser spoke of an “abyss of terrorist threat” from the rightwing.
These are strong words in a country where the RAF swept through Germany in the 1970s and where an Islamist with a truck killed twelve people and injured dozens more while driving into pedestrians at a Berlin Christmas market in 2016. It would be in Faeser’s interest to back up her peculiar comments with facts as soon as possible.
Service weapons found
According to German daily Welt, so far “a firearm”, stun guns, prepper supplies and thousands of euros in cash have been found. That sounds like a rather meager yield, especially since “thousands of euros” distributed over 150 houses searched certainly is no indication of the formation of a terrorist group. Notably, the Ministry of the Interior, in view of the risk of power cuts, has itself called for cash to be kept at home at all times.
The same applies to the supposed “prepper supplies”. The government has recommended that citizens prepare themselves extensively for emergencies due to risks associated with German support for the war in Ukraine.
It is therefore not clear where crisis prevention ends and supposed “prepping” starts. Since some of the suspects are said to have gun ownership cards, the discovery of stun guns is not surprising in the least. As a reminder, no parliament can be stormed with the latter.
The representatives of the Interior Committee in the Bundestag were said to have been informed a little more extensively on Friday. According to media reports, two rifles, a pistol and swords, stun guns and flare guns were confiscated. Even service weapons from accused police officers were taken. It is not yet known whether there were gun permits for the various weapons.
More and more media outlets have doubts
Meanwhile, doubts are growing in the media as to whether the historical raid was really appropriate. The editor-in-chief of Cicero, Alexander Marguier, wrote on Wednesday: “Today I spoke to a number of colleagues from other media – including those media that were at the forefront of the exuberant coverage of the treasonous plan. In unison (and of course only in confidence) it was said: It all seems completely exaggerated to us, but when the competition reacts so dramatically, we can’t take a tepid approach.”
The reporter Anna Schneider spoke on Twitter of an “extremely peculiar hysteria and staging of this spectacle”.
The former head of the parliamentary office of the Bild newspaper, Ralf Schuler, wrote on the social network that he could only hope that those responsible for the “giant raid” would also provide evidence of the alleged coup attempt.
The fact that numerous media had apparently been informed about the raids for some time can be considered proven in view of the fact that they arrived with camera teams on site at the same moment as the police task forces.
‘Organized media support’
The Neue Zürcher Zeitung (NZZ) commented: “The historical large-scale operation and the accompanying media reporting raise questions.”
The author noted: “In political Berlin it has been heard for days that there is ‘a big thing in the bush’. Some media obviously knew about the impending raids and arrests, because many editorial offices published extensive reports on the breaking news, which was actually quite new, almost at the same time – as if after an embargo.”
She considered the “organized media support of the operations” to be fundamentally problematic. “It indicates that the matter wasn’t that dangerous after all. In the latter case, the impression could arise that this is primarily – or also – a political public relations exercise.”
A ‘show’
The domestic policy spokeswoman for the Left Party in the Bundestag, Martina Renner, criticized the handling of the Interior Ministry with the raid by 3000 police officers. The so-called “anti-terror operation” against 25 suspects around the 71-year-old Heinrich XIII living in Frankfurt am Main, Prince Reuss shouldn’t be a “show”, said the politician, who has been in the Bundestag since 2013.
Ibrahim Hooper of CAIR blames ‘Hindutva’ and ‘Islamophobia’ in India after a Muslim mob beats up a Muslim couple for watching the movie Kantara
On 9th December 2022, Ibrahim Hooper from Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) took to his Twitter account to complain about ‘Hindutva’ and ‘Islamophobia’ in India after a Muslim mob beat up a Muslim couple. Hooper shared news from the Free Press Journal with a caption that suggested Muslims in India are under threat from Hindus.
The news was about a Muslim couple in Karnataka getting beaten by a mob for watching the Kannada blockbuster film Kantara. Ibrahim Hooper claimed in his tweet that Hindus beat this Muslim couple while in reality, it was a mob of Muslims that attacked this couple for watching Kantara.
Ibrahim Cooper wrote in his tweet, “A Muslim couple who had gone to watch the Kannada language film Kantara was assaulted by a mob, News18 reported. Islamophobia in India. Hindutva. BJP fails in India.” He also tagged the Twitter handles of Hindus for Human Rights and Indian American Muslim Council in his tweet. It is notable that Hindus for Human Rights and Indian American Muslim Council are known for their anti-India, anti-Hindu agenda, just like Council on American Islamic Relations.
While the news report shared by the National Communications Director of the CAIR did not mention specific information about the attackers, it is now well established that the mob of assaulters was that of Muslims.
Two young students, Mohammed Imtiyaz (20) and his 18-year-old girlfriend, both from the same community, were allegedly beaten in front of a movie theatre in Sullia, Dakshina Kannada district, Karnataka, by a group of Muslim men. The young couple was there to watch the blockbuster ‘Kantara’.
Imtiyaz and his friend later filed a complaint with Sullia police, naming the perpetrators of the assault. Abdul Hameed, Ashraf, Sadique, Jabeer Jattipalla, and Siddique Borugudde have been named as the suspects. According to the complaint, they allegedly threatened the young couple with death, but Ibrahim Hooper conveniently picked the news to spread the lie that Hindus attacked the Muslim couple.
CAIR, IAMC, and Hindus for Human Rights are America-based Islamist outfits that keep peddling anti-Hindu and anti-India agendas through their activities. Recently, these outfits cried foul after a mobile billboard truck displayed images of the 26/11 terror attack in New Jersey. On the 14th anniversary of the dastardly attack on the Indian financial capital Mumbai, Indian Americans took out demonstrations outside the Pakistan Community center in New Jersey.
CAIR took offense at the display of the names of the LeT terrorists (referred to as ‘suspects’ in the article) and scenes from the deadly terror attack. CAIR called it a deliberate and well-coordinated move giving a message of hate.
CAIR and its anti-India propaganda
CAIR is an Islamist group that has spoken against India and Hindus on several occasions. It is noteworthy that CAIR has links with the terrorist organization Hamas. The organization has been vehemently pushing Hinduphobia and anti-Hindu propaganda in India. Previously, CAIR extended support for the extremely Hinduphobic ‘Dismantling Global Hindutva‘ conference.
In January 2022, CAIR launched Hinduphobic propaganda based on a report by alleged journalist Rana Ayyub. In a press release, CAIR demanded the movie theatres not to release Sooryavanshi, a Hindi movie. In the press release, CAIR alleged the movie spreads “disgusting and dangerous” anti-Muslim propaganda inspired by the fascist Hindutva movement.” The organization has also called for the release of 49-year-old Pakistani terrorist Aafia Siddiqui, who is currently serving 86 years in prison for attacking US Army and FBI personnel in Afghanistan.

Twitter and Brazil, too?
By Silvio Canto, Jr.
Did Twitter get involved in another election? Maybe yes, according to Mr. Musk. This is the story:
Twitter owner Elon Musk said on Saturday he thought it was “possible” that personnel at the social media firm gave preference to left-wing candidates during Brazil’s election this year, without providing evidence.
Musk completed his acquisition of Twitter on Oct. 27, just days before Brazil’s presidential second round runoff vote, when far-right incumbent Jair Bolsonaro was defeated by leftist Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.
“I’ve seen a lot of concerning tweets about the recent Brazil election,” Musk wrote on Twitter when asked by a user about elections possibly “handled” by the company’s previous management.
“If those tweets are accurate, it’s possible that Twitter personnel gave preference to left wing candidates,” added the billionaire.
Bolsonaro earlier this year hosted Musk at a meeting in the Brazilian state of Sao Paulo, when he called the U.S. billionaire’s takeover of Twitter a “breath of hope” and dubbed him a “legend of liberty”.
We don’t know for sure, but I wouldn’t be shocked.
First, the left hated Brazil’s sitting President Jair Bolsonaro. He was often referred to as the Trump of Brazil, or “Tropical Trump.” We do know that Nikolas Ferreira, a Bolsonaro ally, had his account suspended for questioning the election results. Does that sound familiar?
The Tweet “influence” story is giving many in Brazil another reason to say that the results were not legitimate. Some are even suggesting a military coup to prevent leftist President-elect Lula da Silva from assuming office. It won’t happen but it just shows how angry some people are.
As in the U.S., the real loser is Twitter and the many journalists who pretended that their coverage was balanced. It won’t change the results in either Brazil or the U.S., but some people in the media have a little explaining to do.
Last, but not least, I quit Twitter two years ago when the New York Post story was “spiked.” I felt that Twitter was a fraud and pulled out. In recent weeks, I opened a new account to see if the Musk version is worthwhile. So far, I like it but time will tell.

Euthanasia as cure for depression? Canada to expand assisted suicide laws to mentally ill
In March of next year, Canada will introduce a new law enabling people with psychiatric illnesses to choose euthanasia. If a patient feels his state of mind is unbearable, it will only take two doctors to legalize a lethal cocktail of drugs to be applied.
This is simply the next stage of a process that began in 2016 when the Canadian parliament passed the law on Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID) which effectively legalized euthanasia. So “maid” became a word synonymous with the wish to die.
The law was to be applied only in cases of incurable diseases or for people whose state of health meant that death was imminent. In the first year of the law’s operation, just over 1,000 people, mainly suffering from cancer, were put to death in this way.
In 2021, the law was changed to include other conditions patients deemed to be “unbearable.” As a result, the number of deaths legalized in this way reached over 10,000, over 30 percent higher than in 2020.
Now, in March 2023, Canadian law will allow for the euthanasia of psychiatric patients. According to Toronto law professor Trudo Lemmens, this means that suicide will essentially become a way of treating psychiatric illness. It opens up the possibility that a person suffering from chronic depression and seeking help may find that a therapist recommends death as a way out.
The way the law is written, according to Gus Aleviou, an expert in disabilities, could lead not only to depression being treated with euthanasia but also post-traumatic stress disorder, autism, ADHD, bulimia, anorexia, and addiction.
Until recently, we only found reference to such situations in sci-fi literature that described social engineering in totalitarian dystopias. Today that dystopia is becoming reality.
Macron’s best friend convicted of drugging former employee to rape her
Laurent Bigorgne, a close friend of French President Macron, and former director of the Montaigne Institute, who resigned on 27 February, has been found guilty by the courts of drugging his ex-sister-in-law and former employee to commit “rape or sexual assault”.
While the prosecution had requested 18 months’ suspended prison sentence, the criminal court has revised this penalty downwards. French daily Le Figaro reported that Emmanuel Macron’s close friend was finally given a one-year suspended prison sentence for drugging his ex-sister-in-law and former collaborator Sophie Conrad.
The court found that the drug was poured into the victim’s drink “in order to commit rape or sexual assault against her”.
The affair began on the night of 22-23 February 2022, during a dinner at Bigorgne’s home. After drinking half a glass of champagne, Sarah Conrad began to feel ill and left the premises, heading for hospital. Toxicological tests confirmed the presence of MDMA, a rape drug from the amphetamine family in the blood of woman.
“It is a recognition of what happened and the facts, a complete recognition,” said Conrad after the verdict. “Today, I no longer have any doubt that his intention was, unfortunately, sexual and to rape me,” she said at the hearing.
Bigorgne’s lawyer announced that he would “immediately” appeal this “senseless, incoherent decision”. His client was not present at the hearing. Placed in police custody, Bigorgne had quickly admitted to having taken cocaine and poured MDMA into Conrad’s drink that evening, but denied sexual intent.
