In 4 years, 343 terror convicts have been released in France

Prisoners convicted of terrorism-related offences are monitored by the judiciary and intelligence services upon their release. This has been a huge cost to French taxpayers.

What happens to men and women convicted of acts related to Islamist terrorism in France? As FranceInfo reported on November 14, they are released after their sentence and placed under judicial and intelligence surveillance. In total in 4 years, 343 have been released from prison, including 72 in 2022.

The Ministry of Justice indicated that 406 “TIS” prisoners (Islamic Terrorists) are still behind bars on French territory.

Control measures

Some of these detainees were convicted of having left to wage jihad in Syria and found guilty of “criminal association of a terrorist nature”. After having served a few years in prison, they are in 80 percent of cases subject to an Individual Administrative Control and Surveillance Measure (MICAS).

In concrete terms, this measure obliges released individuals, for example, to report to the police twice a day for several months. Some must also report to the local DGSI office once a day and be monitored by a psychologist.

In rare cases, those convicted of terrorism are also confronted with the loss of nationality, a means for the intelligence services to obtain the removal of some prison leavers. The deprivation of nationality of people convicted of terrorism is nevertheless very rare (about ten since 2020) but it is a way to deal with the threat.

The internal intelligence services apply common sense: For them, an Islamist who has been involved in violent action has every chance of remaining in the movement and reoffending.

“All people who come out of prison after having served a sentence for terrorism must be monitored. It’s a certainty,” argued one of the heads of UCLAT, the DGSI unit that coordinates the monitoring of those leaving prison. Potentially, they can indeed take action again or try to take action again.

“We are perfectly aware of the very slim probability of disengagement of people who have been convicted of terrorist acts. We have had to hinder convicted terrorists again, after their release from prison or in the years that followed, because they were once again plotting a terrorist action. For us, this is a reality.”

Leftist judiciary protect potential attackers

However, these post-detention measures posed a legal problem for leftist lawyer Dylan Slama. Indeed, the lawyer told FranceInfo that there was a before and after the attack in the church of Saint-Etienne de Rouveray committed in 2016 by a former radicalised prisoner wearing an electronic bracelet.

“I think that this case has created a real trauma among judges who will be making a decision guided by the fear that ‘something could happen if I take a less restrictive measure’.”

However, he reminded his audience that after serving their full sentence, individuals should be free because they had paid their “debt to society”.

“Imposing administrative constraints on an individual not for what he has done, but for what he is likely to do, is in my view a serious problem.”

Voters blame Macron for insecurity

In France, insecurity seems to be present in all regions, based on the many news items that regularly make the headlines. It is a concern that worries many French people. Last summer, a survey carried out by Ifop on behalf of the Journal du dimanche highlighted the fact that 75 percent of those polled felt that Emmanuel Macron’s record on security was negative.

More recently, the Institute for Justice told Le Figaro that it had lodged an administrative appeal with the Ministry of the Interior for the State’s inaction on crime. As reported by our colleagues in an article published on Saturday 19 November, this association wishes, in this way, to force the public authorities to take new actions to restore order.

Germany: Asylum seeker rapes 11-year-old girl

He tried to hide in shame!

A resident of the refugee accommodation “Kornkamp” in Ahrensburg allegedly raped an eleven-year-old girl on Thursday. The Syrian girl, who does not live in the accommodation, was on her way to school at 7.30 am. On a forest path on Syltring, one and a half kilometres from the accommodation, Alpha Ousmane D. (20, from Guinea) allegedly grabbed the child and raped her.

“The girl resisted loudly, so that witnesses became aware of the crime,” says Christian Braunwarth from the Lübeck public prosecutor’s office. The alleged perpetrator then fled.

With two sniffer dogs, the investigators tracked him down to his accommodation. The officers searched several accommodation units and arrested the 20-year-old in his room in container 17C. Alpha Ousmane D. remained silent to the police.

A flatmate told the newspaper BILD: “You could hardly see him, he was reserved. He didn’t have a job.”

In September 2021, an Afghan woman was stabbed to death in the “Kornkamp” accommodation, and her husband was later sentenced to life in prison.

Now the case of the raped girl. The alleged perpetrator was brought before a judge, who issued an arrest warrant. The man, who comes from Guinea, was taken into custody.

Under Britain’s socialized medicine, a cancer diagnosis meets a 3-year waitlist

By Andrea Widburg

For decades, American leftists have been insisting that the way to beat America’s soaring health costs is through socialized medicine. England, Europe, and even Cuba, they assure us, are the models we should look to when it comes to bringing affordable healthcare to everything. However, healthcare in these countries isn’t looking so healthy lately. In England, for example, a 61-year-old man with a cancer diagnosis was just told that he must wait three years (not a typo) to be seen at a hospital.

When it comes to socialized medicine, there are myriad factors involved, all of which dovetail to say that socialized medicine is awful and that the free market—which we’ve never tried in modern America—is the way to go.

When England instituted socialized medicine in 1948, medicine was simple. The doctor had only a few weapons in his arsenal: physical examination, x-rays, biopsies (for diagnosis), newly discovered antibiotics, and fairly simple surgeries (no organ or joint replacements or “gender reassignments”). Under this system, the ability to see a doctor, something poor people couldn’t previously afford, wasn’t too costly.

The system wasn’t meant to deal with what eventually happened: medicine became more sophisticated. Today’s doctor’s examination is mostly a pathway to fancy tests that require costly equipment, followed by treatments with insanely expensive pharmaceutical supplies or sophisticated surgery. The outcomes are much, much better, as reflected in the greater longevity we had right up until COVID madness began. But the costs…wow!

The European systems chugged along for a while, even as medical care got more complicated, only because Americans paid for it by absorbing their defense costs during the Cold War.

In a socialized system, especially when the good times of the Cold War end, these rising costs must be accommodated. The only accommodation is rationing, and socialized systems eventually can afford only to provide only enough care to maintain those workers who pay into the system. If you’re old and sick (i.e., no longer funding the system), you are out of luck. That’s what happened to 61-year-old Andrew Jones:

A cancer-battling granddad has been left flabbergasted after being told he must wait three years for a hospital appointment. Andrew Jones, 61, won’t be allowed to attend the medical facility until it’s almost time for the next World Cup in North America.

[snip]

Mr Jones thought there was a mistake on the letter he received on Saturday but was horrified to discover his appointment is correct, leaving him with nearly 1,000 days to wait.

His confirmation arrived days after a 16-year-old boy was told he wouldn’t been seen for 950-days for his “urgent” NHS appointment for a urology-related problem.

The same article says that the NHS has 6 million people waiting for surgeries for non-life-threatening issues—or 9% of the United Kingdom’s population. If that 6 million number refers only to England’s NHS (as opposed to Scotland’s or Wale’s), then 10.6% of the population is on a healthcare waitlist.

By the way, America’s insurance system is no better because it’s not a free market system either. In our case, employers, to circumvent WWII wage freezes, began providing health insurance as part of their employees’ payment packages. Again, the insurer back then wasn’t on the hook for that much. The real benefit of the system was simply that poor people weren’t destroyed by a medical.

Over the years, though, insurance went from a system to cover emergencies to a purely cost-shifting system. This meant that it destroyed a genuine healthcare marketplace. In a real marketplace, the customer would be seeking the best quality for the lowest fees while the provider would be trying to maximize profit, control costs, and provide quality care. These concerns, plus genuine marketplace competition, would see price-conscience shopping and innovation.

The insurer, however, is not part of either these concerns or that negotiation. An insured consumer doesn’t shop around for a balance of quality and price, and the provider is forced to take whatever the insurance company pays. It’s the opposite of a free market. It drives prices because medical providers eventually charge more and more to offset the constantly lower percentages insurers are willing to pay.

The Democrat solution to this problem is to socialize American medicine, but that will only fling us from the insurance frying pan into the infinitely worse socialist fireplace. The answer to this mess at home and abroad is to let the free market work. Our insurance system, especially thanks to Obamacare, perverts the market, drastically increasing prices, while socialized medicine, as Mr. Jones discovered, simply lets people die.

Sweden: Civil Servants Under Threat of Attack Over Muslim ‘Kidnapping’ Allegations

Threats of attacks on Swedish social services staff have circulated on Arabic-speaking social media as some Muslims allege Swedish authorities have kidnapped Muslim children from their parents.

A social media campaign against Swedish social services spread on social media platforms like Chinese-owned Tik Tok has alleged that Swedish authorities have kidnapped children from Muslim homes and has now seen threats of attacks against the civil servants.

In the city of Gothenburg, authorities are taking the threats seriously and have made police reports over the threats, some of which mention the purchase of guns in Gothenburg and plans for attacking social services, broadcaster SVT reports.

Ing-Marie Larsson, head of the Nordost social administration in Gothenburg, commented on the threats saying, “It’s a threat to democracy,” and added, ” I’d say it’s really serious.”

Earlier this week, SVT noted one Tik Tok video in particular that seems to urge terror attacks. “We talk from sharia. You have to secure, whether you want to or not, you have to secure your wife and your daughter somewhere. Then return here. Look, either you take your children back or die as a martyr,” the individual in the video stated.

The video was part of a live broadcast that included a man who claims to be a father who had his children taken away from him. SVT spoke to the man who stated, “A lot of people talk to me and give me different advice, on Tiktok and other social media. Some say that I should use violence against social services and others advise me to follow the law.”

The kidnapping allegations against Swedish authorities are not new and have been persisting on social media for around a year.

Earlier this year, Sweden denounced the trend as a “disinformation campaign” and rejected claims that Muslim children had been removed from their parents’ care and forced to drink alcohol or eat pork after being placed in Christian homes.
