In East Harlem, it’s gotten so bad even the lefty activists and Democrat pols are voting for Lee Zeldin

In the wokester era, New York City has gone downhill.

Even if we haven’t been there in a while, just the random murders of Columbia University students — such as these two bright, innocent kids — has to be some kind of signal. It sure as heck wasn’t like that when I attended that place even back when David Dinkins was mayor and the locals got so fed up with his inaction on crime they elected Rudolph Giuliani the next mayor in 1993.

It’s worse, way worse, now that wokesters run the show, where drugs are basically legal, drug use is open-air now, predators who should never be paroled are paroled, bail “reform” puts criminals back on the streets, wokester D.A.s refuse to bust criminals, and naked socialists are being elected to Congress.

And upwind of Columbia’s environs is East Harlem, where things are so bad, such a “zombieland” that even the local lefties are praying for Lee Zeldin to win the governorship.

Kid you not. I used to stay with a friend in East Harlem, and it wasn’t bad at the time, but she has since sold her co-op on Madison and 125th and moved away. The Clinton Foundation, also on 125th, fled the place years ago.

The New York Post did some street reporting on what East Harlem has become, and boy, did they get an earful from the local talent among the area’s activists and Democrat politicians:

Here’s a Democrat pol:

“Gov. Hochul opened up the floodgates to the ruination of the state when she signed laws allowing for open-drug use on our streets and subways,” said Councilman Robert Holden, a moderate Queens Democrat.

“Instead of focusing on drug addicts getting the help they desperately need, she allowed them to feed their addictions while destroying the quality of life for New Yorkers. Whether it’s this, cashless bail, Raise the Age [juvenile justice law], the [Humane Alternatives to Long-Term Solitary Confinement] Act, congestion pricing, and others, Kathy Hochul must be held accountable for the 14 months of destruction she caused New York,” added Holden, who is backing Republican Rep. Lee Zeldin in Tuesday’s gubernatorial election.

Here’s a “community developer” the Post interviewed:

“I almost hope a Republican governor wins, so that way they come and knock this all out,” said community developer Derrick Taitt, referring to Tuesday’s general election. “The Democrats have done nothing for us. Nothing!”

Here’s a local artist:

“I’m a lefty liberal from way back when … and I’m so fed up,” said local artist Jenny Scobel, 67, who has recorded several videos along Park Avenue near 116th Street of men passed out while others inject themselves in broad daylight.

The problem seems to be entirely fixable, once they get Zeldin in there.

What is that problem?

Well, cash has been shoveled to a local NGO called OnPointNYC, which runs “overdose prevention centers” in the area which it hopes to expand.

According to the Post:

The centers provide users with paraphernalia to snort or shoot up drugs within its walls and have staff to monitor clients in case of an overdose and to advise on best injection techniques. It claims to have saved more than 500 people’s lives from fatal overdoses in the past year.

But the East 126th Street injection site has been a magnet for attracting drug dealers, who brazenly sell dope and other narcotics to addicts, including those who are running across the street to shoot up under OnPoint’s supervision, residents said.

The staff “don’t supply the drugs for them, so they have to go out and get the drugs,” said Jim Ratti, 70, who lives across the street with his 18-year-old son. “So where are they coming to buy the stuff? In my building.”

In other words, its role in East Harlem is approximately equivalent to that of the Department of Homeland Security on illegal immigration, effectively serving as a handmaid and enabler to organized criminal cartels, rather than a problem-solver. Drug sellers reap big dollars from having OnPoint NYC around, just as Mexico’s drug cartels do, now that Homeland Security serves as the cartels’ transport agency for their illegal human cargo.

Yank the funding from these bounders, or hold them fully responsible and personally sue-able for every crime connected with their junkie “center,” and watch the problem go away.

That’s something a governor can do, but New York’s governor, Kathy Hochul, a hectoring harridan who wonders why anyone should be so concerned about crime, has no intention of doing so — she’s the one who shoveled the cash, after all.

Now we are hearing from the locals, who’ve got to be the bluest locals in America, and they’re going red.

If you’ve got this kind of talk and endorsing going on in deepest East Harlem, what must the rest of the state, with its lower tolerance threshold for chaos and violence, be thinking? The ruling Democrats in Albany and Washington at this point are amazingly out of touch and with no intention of reforming. They are in for a surprise on Tuesday.

Former UK National Union of Students president receives prize from Hamas supporter

Shaima Dallali (Photo: Twitter)

Just days before being removed from her position in response to a lengthy investigation into her antisemitism, the president of the British National Union of Students (NUS), Shaima Dallali accepted an award from an ally of Hamas.

According to a report by the Jewish Chronicle, Dallali can be seen in photographs smiling and cradling the prize for “campaigning on behalf of Palestinians” at an awards ceremony held by the Palestinian Forum in Britain (PFB), which recently launched a campaign claiming that interfaith dialogue is a Zionist strategy to cover up Israeli “apartheid”.

Presenting the award to Dallali was PFB chairman Zaher Birawi, who has been pictured alongside Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh.

Another prizewinner was Daud Abdullah, the former deputy chairman of the Muslim Council of Britain, who caused outrage in 2009 by signing a declaration that the UK government interpreted as calling for violence against Israel and the British Navy.

Dallali was fired last week after a lengthy investigation into antisemitism that lasted months.

In May, Dallali apologized after being called out for a past tweet referencing the Islamic chant calling for “the army of Mohammed” to attack the Jews.

After she won the election, the Union of Jewish Students (UJS) released a statement calling on her to discuss their misgivings over her “extremely challenging views.”

According to the UK Jewish News, in 2012 Dallali posted a tweet that said: ”Khaybar Khaybar, ya yahud, Jaish Muhammad, sa yahud” (“Jews, remember Khaybar, the army of Muhammad is returning”). The chant is used in Islam as a battle cry for attacking Jews.

Weeks after the tweet was reported, the UK government made the unprecedented move of severing ties with the NUS.

“Following the independent KC-led investigation into allegations of antisemitism, specifically into the then-President Elect under the NUS Code of Conduct, an independent panel has found that significant breaches of NUS’ policies have taken place. As per this finding, we have terminated the President’s contract,” the NUS said in a statement.

“We are sorry for the harm that has been caused and we hope to rebuild the NUS in an inclusive way – fighting for all students as we have done for the past 100 years.”

Conservative MP Robert Halfon applauded the NUS’s decision.

“Antisemitism is abhorrent and I welcome this verdict from the NUS,” Halfon said on Twitter. “However, this is only the first step in addressing antisemitism allegations within the organization, and am very keen to see further action that they are taking concerns from Jewish students seriously.”

The Union of Jewish Students questioned “how an individual deemed unfit for office by NUS was elected in the first place.”

“UJS respects the decision of the National Union of Students to dismiss their President. Antisemitism in the student movement goes beyond the actions of any one individual and this case is a symptom of a wider problem,” the organization said in a statement.

‘Influencers had spread false narrative’: Report by UK think tank says Hindu extremism was not behind Leicester violence

Henry Jackson Society report says Hindutva or RSS not behind Leicester violence

On 4th November 2022, the Henry Jackson Society – a UK-based think tank – released their research report on the anti-Hindu riots that took place in Leicester. The report is titled ‘Hindu-Muslim civil unrest in Leicester: “Hindutva” and the creation of a false narrative’. This report has denied any possible involvement of so-called Hindutva extremism or RSS extremism in the Leicester violence, which was alleged by Islamists and left-liberal media houses. After an Asia Cup cricket match between India and Pakistan on August 28, violence erupted in Leicester, UK. Up to 47 persons were detained for their involvement in the incident.

It is notable that the western media broadly blamed the whole Hindu community in Leicester for this violence under the guise of using terms like Hindutva extremism or RSS extremism. Now, the think tank based in the UK itself has come up with the conclusion that no Hindutva extremism in any angle is found responsible for the riots. Not only this, but the report also mentions that a group of social media influencers, some with links to terrorism, peddled this fake narrative to stir up tensions and instigate violence.

Henry Jackson Society’s (HJS) Centre on Radicalisation and Terrorism carried out this research and published the report from their official Twitter handle. The 39-page report is written by Charlotte Littlewood. It mentions that influencers on social media spread a false narrative that “RSS terrorists” were to blame for the violence in order to persuade Muslims from all across the UK to participate in the demonstrations. In a video showing himself leading a group through Leicester, an influencer named Mohammad Hijab with over 800,000 followers urged Muslims to “protect themselves against Hindu fascism” and wrote, “Muslim patrol in Leicester.”

A similar influencer with 150,000 followers propagated false information about Hindus kidnapping a Muslim girl. He had previously bragged on social media about his involvement with Pakistan’s D Company and admired Dawood Ibrahim. Littlewood concluded that the rioting was caused by a “micro-community cohesiveness dispute” involving Muslim and Hindu youngsters in Leicester who “had prejudiced sentiments against one another” and that this dispute had been “falsely portrayed as a problem of organized Hindutva extremism and terrorism.”

This report also noted that another influential person who is regularly provided with a platform by UK media to spread the falsehood that Hindutva was involved in the events in Leicester had previously prayed for the Taliban and the brother of an ISIS member. The demonstrations against the Lady of Heaven movie’s screening were led by one of the main opponents of LGBT education in schools, and she was also instrumental in stirring up the mob that besieged the Hindu temple in Birmingham. Anjem Choudary, a convicted hate preacher, and Hizb ut-Tahrir, a banned organization that seeks to restore the Islamic Caliphate, has also expressly stated linkages between the upheaval in Leicester and Hindu nationalism.

Charlotte Littlewood said in her report, “Evidence of a Hindu nationalist presence in the UK is tenuous. Some organizations have been accused of links to RSS and RSS-linked individuals have visited the UK, this is problematic for community relations and requires further investigation.” She added, “Accusations of RSS terrorists lead to a number of Hindu youth temporarily relocating for their safety. There has never been a Hindu extremist terrorist attack in the UK and the youth in question had no affiliation to RSS.”

An attempt to draw attention to the ill effects of this false reporting was also seen in this report. According to Charlotte Littlewood, it is the Hindu community across the world that had to suffer this negative reporting in some or another way. The accusations of “Hindutva extremism” and “RSS terrorism” in the UK have led to internet hate speeches to violence and anti-Hindu hatred, damage to Hindu temples, reports of assaults against the Hindu community, and individuals who have expressed sympathy for the Hindu community, among other things, she said in the report.

In the concluding part, she also mentioned, “The methods employed have included projections including a false claim of a BJP organized bus, whilst car sharing of anti-Hindutva protestors were in fact taking place; claims of racists, terrorists, extremists, etc; misinformation regarding crimes being committed; attempts to have the uptake of their narrative by the mainstream press and collaborating with political leaders to gain sympathy for their narrative and potentially influence future policy. The successful spread of these claims has led to a security threat posed to the Hindu community and attacks on their places of worship.”

Commenting on how media relied on these Muslim social media influencers for reporting rather than going into the minor details of the incidents, Charlotte Littlewood noted, “The media has at times conflated the issue by regularly relying on influencers included in this report for comment and focusing on an issue of Hindutva extremism and India politics rather than providing nuanced and accurate analysis of the incidents.”

Underlining threats in front of the local community, she further said, “There is a real concern that Majid Freeman is regularly being provided a platform to express his views regarding the presence of Hindutva extremism in the UK and posing as a ‘community leader, meeting with the City of Leicester’s mayor and discussing the future of the upcoming independent review.”

It is notable that the western media portrayed Hindus as the main villains of this violence. Hindus in the UK protested outside the offices of these anti-Hindu media houses. Now that a UK-based research group has published its finding and underlined how Hindutva or RSS had nothing to do with the violence and how it was instigated by Islamist social media influencers, this has exposed the reality of the deliberate anti-Hindu reporting of the incident.

Conservative Euro MP: No ‘Pandemic Amnesty’ for ‘Freedom Deniers’ and ‘Lockdown Abusers’

There must be no so-called “pandemic amnesty” in the wake of draconian lockdowns across the EU, a representative within the bloc’s parliament has said.

Cristian Tehres, a politician within the European Parliament, has rejected calls for a so-called “pandemic amnesty” to be implemented in the wake of COVID-19, saying that “lockdown abusers” and “freedom deniers” must face justice instead.

With many across the continent told they would be excluded from society if they did not take a coronavirus vaccine, Europe over the last two years faced some of the harshest COVID-19 lockdowns outside of Communist China, with compulsory jabs being implemented for many in various countries.

With sentiment worldwide having turned significantly against lockdown restrictions, however, a number of individuals and groups who have previously pushed for draconian rules, especially against unvaccinated people, are now calling for everyone to forgive and forget.

However, calls to implement such a “pandemic amnesty” have been soundly rejected by many who faced the brunt of restrictions, with Tehres writing online that those responsible for the curbs on individual freedom must face the consequences of their actions.

“The lockdown abusers and their enablers now call for an AMNESTY, but without confessing the damage they’ve done and asking for forgiveness,” the Christian-Democratic National Peasants’ Party representative wrote on social media.

Speaking further to Breitbart Europe, Tehres emphasised that Europeans must hold individuals to account for their actions during the pandemic as part of the fight for a more fair and transparent European Union.

“It’s a matter of justice to look back, investigate what happened after December 2019 and make all responsible – politicians, pharma companies, regulatory authorities etc. – accountable at the fullest extent of the law,” Tehres said.

“The politicians who stole our freedoms to work, travel and see our family, must pay a price and be voted, along with their parties, out of any public offices,” he continued, also arguing that both regulators and pharmaceutical companies must be held accountable should they be found to have failed or misled the public.

“The lesson learned from what happened is that we need to demand full transparency and accountability from all involved in the process, so we will avoid in the future a similar situation, where the risks are socialized on people’s shoulders, while some companies are getting only and just the profits,” the European Conservatives and Reformists group member went on to say.

Terhes is one of the latest figures to deride calls for a “pandemic amnesty” to be implemented in the wake of COVID-19, with various figures in the legacy media calling for officials and pundits to be forgiven for pushing draconian measures that turned out to be against the public interest.

Speaking to Breitbart News Daily, Moms for Liberty co-founders Tina Descovich and Tiffany Justice emphasised that coronavirus restrictions had caused serious damage to children, and the fact that the head of the American Federation of Teachers, Randi Weingarten, was backing an amnesty made sense considering that she backed restrictions.

“It destroyed children’s lives,” Tina Descovich told Editor-in-Chief Alex Marlow on Sirius XM Patriot. “The trajectory for children that lost two years of education, when you look at the NAEP [National Assessment of Educational Progress] scores, you know, chances are a lot of these kids are not going to be able to graduate and their future is dismal because of women like her.”

“So of course she wants to put it behind us and forget everything that has happened, but parents are not going to be able to do that very easily,” Descovich went on to say.
