Reuters journalist blames Indian Hindus for Islamist violence against Hindus in Leicester
On Tuesday (October 4), Reuters journalist Rina Chandran blamed the Indian Hindus for violence perpetrated by radical Islamists in Leicester against the Hindu community.
In a propaganda piece published in ‘Context’ (a media platform run by Thomas Reuters Foundation), Chandran alleged that disinformation, which supposedly originated in India, was the cause of Hindu-Muslim unrest in Leicester city in England’s East Midlands region.
“It was a social media storm – mostly cooked up a continent away – that materialised in real life in Leicester, where police made almost 50 arrests and a community was left in tatters,” she alleged.
“Rumour had it that a Muslim girl had been kidnapped and a Hindu temple had sent masked thugs into combat,” she wrote, without mentioning that both these rumours were conceived in Leicester and disseminated by the Islamists living there.
Opindia reported how Islamists had blamed the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) for supposedly trying to kidnap a 15-year-old Muslim girl. A Hindu man was dubbed as a paedophile and his address was leaked on Facebook, as part of the onslaught. Later, it turned out to be fake news.
“Add in local fury over an India-Pakistan cricket match, and Hindu and Muslim men were soon fighting on the streets of central England,” Rina Chandran resorted to false balance despite the fact that it was only the Hindu community that has been at the receiving end of violence.
The ‘brown sepoy’ shrewdly pointed out the fake stories without specifying the group that spread it in the first place. For the fake abduction story of a Muslim girl, she conceded that it was debunked by the police without mentioning that Islamists deliberately spread it to create a foundation for violence against Hindus.
“…Police took to social media themselves, saying they had fully investigated reports of three men approaching a teenaged girl in an attempted kidnap, and found no truth whatsoever to the online story,” she had written.
Opindia had also reported how Islamists tried to mainstream the conspiracy theory that ‘truckloads of RSS workers’ were brought to Leicester by a travel agency named ‘Angel Tours’, with the support of a local Hindu temple.
“Fact-checkers also found no truth to claims that gangs of masked thugs were bussed into Leicester,” Rina Chandran wrote, again without mentioning the community that was at the helm of this fake news.
Bizarre fact checks
She then relied on ‘experts’ who claimed that disinformation that supposedly led to the unrest in Leicester came from India. “Some 80% of tweets with geographic coordinates, or geo-tagged information, were connected to India, Logically said,” the Reuters journalist wrote.
Logically’s claim that ‘fake news’ was manufactured in India was based on the fact that the majority of the tweets about Leicester violence originated from India.
“The ratio of tweets geo-tagged to the UK versus those geo-tagged to India was remarkably high for what, ostensibly, was a domestic incident. The involvement of high-profile figures in India setting the discourse was a key element,” a spokesperson claimed.
BBC made a similar claim based on Indians posting tweets with hashtags such as #Leicester, #HindusUnderAttack and #HindusUnderattackinUK
Given that the Hindu population in India is close to a billion and that the community was concerned about the atrocities committed by Islamists in far-off Leicester, it explains why most tweets demanding justice for Hindus were from India.
A Hindu temple was indeed desecrated by an Islamist, a fact testified by the police and conceded by a Muslim journalist. This however did not Rina Chandran from claiming, “Many of the misleading posts alleging that Hindus and Hindu sites were being attacked came from India, the analysis showed.”
The brown sepoy then went a step ahead and blamed the ruling BJP government for events that unfolded in Leicester in England. “Some commentators and rights groups say India’s ruling Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party has a hand in the social-media warfare that targets religious and ethnic minorities,” she wrote.
Nonetheless, the left-propagandist website Scroll republished her article and further amplified her propaganda piece among its Indian reader base.
Rina Chandran and her contentious views
The Reuters journalist then cited Thenmozhi Soundararajan of Equality Labs and dubious ‘fact-checkers’ such as Pratik Sinha to further her claims.
None of this is surprising, however, given that Rina Chandran has a history of peddling fake news. For years now, Chandran has been using social media platforms to vilify Hindus and make false allegations against them. In April this year, Chandran resorted to scaremongering and spreading fake news alleging that Hindu goons in India were destroying Muslim livelihoods, but without providing any evidence to prove her claims.
On one occasion, she has also equated Hindus with white supremacists, underscoring her hatred for the followers of one of the oldest and most composite faiths in the world.
Rina Chandran is not new to drawing false equivalence or defaming Hinduism at a global level, based on her skewed understanding of faith. She has also cast aspersions on Indian democracy and the autonomy of its institutions through her tweets. And these credentials made her a worthy candidate for leftist rag Scroll to piggyback on the claims made by her and peddle the false narrative that Hindus in India are responsible for the havoc wreaked by Islamists in Leicester.

India: Eyewitness recall Congress leader Arif Sheikh leading the Muslim mob that stone-pelted Hindu event
Days after Islamists pelted stones at a Navaratri Garba event in the Kheda district of Gujarat, eyewitnesses have accused local Congress leader Arif Sheikh of leading the frenzied mob, reported Republic TV.
Sheikh, who contested the civic body polls of 2021 on a Congress ticket, was identified as one of the stone pelters. An eyewitness told Republic TV that a group of men were clicking pictures of Hindu women, participating in the Garba event.
The police were called in and the accused were shooed away. The eyewitness recalled that the men later came back, sat down on a verandah and started touching the women with their legs.
“They were made to move from there also… But after 10 minutes, they started pelting stones,” the eyewitness told Republic TV. He further informed that Arif Sheikh, who was present there at the time of the stone pelting, was seen instigating the Muslim men.
“Arif Sheikh fought the election in 2021 on the ticket of Congress, but the BJP candidate won. He has a first hand in instigating youths… Arif and others were sitting with me. They went away and within 5 minutes the riots started,” the man emphasised.
He confirmed, “Yes. Arif along with others was pelting stones.” The eyewitness pointed out that he recorded his statement against the Congress leader with the police. Republic TV reported that 3 people, including Arif Sheikh, are on the run from the law enforcement authorities.
The Background of the Incident
On Monday (October 3) night, a menacing mob of 150 Islamists laid siege on a Navratri Garba event in Undhela village in the Kheda district of Gujarat.
As per reports, they pelted stones at a Hindu temple, which hosted the event on its premises. Islamists had earlier objected to the conduct of the Hindu religious event by the village sarpanch (Head) under the pretext that a mosque was in the vicinity of the temple.
When the Hindu devotees refused to give in to their demands and went ahead with the Navratri Garba programme, the mob of Islamists came to disrupt the event.
While a total of 43 people were named in the case, only about 14 people could be detained by the police. They were brought back to the village on Tuesday (October 4) and allegedly caned by police personnel for pelting stones at the temple. The accused were also asked to apologise to the public.
Deputy Superintendent of Police VR Bajpai informed, “Police detained 13 persons after the FIR was registered at Matar police station. The village sarpanch (head) had organised Garba at a temple. A mob from the Muslim community tried to stop it from taking place.”
A video of the incident has now gone viral on social media. Islamists and their sympathisers quickly hopped on the opportunity to cast aspersions on law enforcement authorities.

Food, energy, housing: True German inflation is 56 percent
Prices are skyrocketing and we are all getting poorer – everyone feels the price shock, but in statistics it shows up much smaller. Official inflation figures are around 10 percent. But many citizens notice in their everyday life: Prices are rising – in the supermarket, at the gas station – much faster.
The true inflation is much higher: That’s why there is now the inflation radar from pleiticker.de – one can find it updated daily on their homepage. They have calculated price developments in the areas that really matter: housing, energy and basic foodstuffs. With the latest figures, inflation there was a whopping 56,3 percent over the past year – and 11,6 percent over the past week alone. For the average net income of a German household (€3 600), this means a loss in value of €1 296. This is mainly driven by the rise in energy costs. The price of electricity has risen by an unbelievable 344 percent in the past year.
The official figures, on the other hand, are hardly meaningful: The figures from the Federal Statistical Office are significantly lower and not very plausible for the reality of people’s lives for two reasons: On the one hand, it includes hundreds of products in its unrealistic “shopping basket”
On the other hand, the price shock for electricity and gas only becomes visible in the Federal Statistical Office’s inflation calculator with a long delay. Instead of the market price, the current consumer price is used, which reflects even more favorable market prices from the past. The real market price only reaches the end consumer after many weeks.
Germany economy is grinding to a halt
The German economy is slipping as a consequence of the exploding electricity and gas prices and the galloping inflation, which has now solidified in the double-digit range. The former Bild editor-in-chief Julian Reichelt has been documenting the German economic bankruptcy with a new project, called pleiticker.de.
The project is described as follows on the website pleiticker.de: “Every day, companies collapse under the exploding energy costs and file for bankruptcy. More and more people can no longer afford to live. Pleitticker.de documents the crisis that Economics Minister Robert Habeck doesn’t want to see […] The truth is: the wave of bankruptcies has long been here.”
At the beginning of September, the Economics Minister said: “I can imagine that certain sectors will simply stop producing for the time being. Don’t become insolvent.”
This is illustrated on the website not only by the sheer numbers, but also by numerous reports on the effects of the failed policy – for example on already known company bankruptcies, impending waves of insolvencies in clinics and other sectors or the mass terminations of gas customers by the public utility company.
The website also examines actual inflation, because according to Reichelt, the so-called “shopping basket” of the Federal Statistical Office does not reflect the price increases for many everyday products, but, for example, prices for home cinema systems, surfboards, services from domestic staff or visits to the opera. Essentially these are items and services that few avail themselves of.
Reichelt’s new portal therefore calculates the authentic inflation rate in the areas of housing, energy and staple foods.
Journalists who touted ‘climate’ price hikes demand pay rise
Hacks from the German regional public broadcaster WDR, have been demanding inflation compensation for themselves – in order to cope with the price increases that they themselves have demanded
Lorenz Beckhardt, WDR journalist and Quarks editor, called for a “warning strike in WDR” on Twitter: “With a few exceptions”, public service broadcasting is not done by people who “earn top salaries”. He does not offer any details on his own remuneration and whether he counts himself among his “struggling colleagues”.
The journalists want to push through a 5 percent salary hike and inflation compensation – mainly to be able to cope with the massively rising food and energy prices. For this reason they stopped work on Wednesday, October 5.
The irony is particularly biting: Not long ago, Lorenz Beckhardt had personally demanded price increases – for the sake of the “environment”. In July 2019 he appealed to politicians in a comment on: “Make meat, driving cars and flying so damn expensive that we can put an end to it. Please! Quickly!”.
Now that he has got what he wanted, he is whining about money. For the likes of Beckhardt this is obviously not a contradiction.
Totally clueless or complicit politicians?
The next hurdle facing the Scholtz federal government’s energy policy is that nobody in Berlin can say how much gas will actually be available to supply the country in winter. Despite – allegedly – well-filled storage tanks, gas in unknown quantities are not intended for Germany at all, but flows abroad.
Officially, Germany’s gas storage facilities are more than 90 percent full. But that is no reason for relief, because the gas is not reserved for German consumers and companies. The news magazine Focus recently reported on a letter from the Ministry of Economic Affairs to the deputy chairman of the Union parliamentary group, Jens Spahn, which stated: “The Federal Government does not have any knowledge of where the individual stored gas is going.”
The Federal Network Agency told the German weekly Bild am Sonntag: “The stored gas is largely owned by gas traders and suppliers who often operate across Europe.”
Particularly riling is that this also applies to the gas that Trading Hub Europe buys with state aid and has stored under trusteeship of the Federal Network Agency in the former Gazprom storage facility in Rehden. So, although this gas was financed with tax money, it is not reserved for Germany.
It can be purchased by all national and international companies registered on the German gas market to the highest bidder. For German gas customers, whether private or corporate, this is tantamount to a resounding slap in the face: their own government obviously shows no interest in ensuring energy security and giving preference to German customers.
CDU politician Jens Spahn, also criticized this outrage: “The very expensive gas bought in our storage facilities must reach German consumers in winter,” he demanded. In view of the crisis, that should actually go without saying, but in Germany, of course, politicians are pursuing Anglo-Saxon priorities.
Incidentally, neighboring Austria has a similar problem: according to the head of Austria’s largest energy storage company, RAG, a gas storage capacity of 85 percent should be reached by the end of the month. But even there, the country owns just under half of the gas.

India: Muslim student was mentally torturing a Hindu female student and was forcing her to wear a hijab
On Thursday, a Hindu student studying at the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) of Uttar Pradesh was thrashed and mentally tortured by a Muslim student named Rehwar. The Muslim student also threatened him with a gun and forced him to chant pro-Pakistani slogans like, “Pakistan Zindabad”.
According to the Zee news report, the victim Hindu student has been identified as Saket Kumar who hails from Karanvash village of Bulandshahar district. He has enrolled for the Master of Technology course at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) and is in the first year of his college. Saket stated that Rehwar thrashed him and forced him to say, “Pakistan Zindabad”. He also forced the victim to remove the Kalava (religious band) that he was wearing on his hand.
“We were in the Suleiman hall of the AMU. Rehwar was in an inebriated state when he forced me to remove the Kalava (religious band). He also forced me to hail Pakistan and threatened me with a gun”, the victim said. Saket also said the accused had threatened his sister to wear a hijab.
Reports mention that the accused was mentally torturing a Hindu female student and was forcing her to wear a hijab. He also threatened her on social media. The victim had opposed this act of the accused and so was attacked in the Suleiman hall of the AMU. The victim was immediately taken to the Civil Lines hospital after he was brutally thrashed by Rehwar.
The incident was confirmed by Amit Goswami, a student leader associated with a Hindu organization. He said that a Hindu student of AMU’s MTech has lodged a complaint, in which it has been said that a student named Rehwar of AMU had raised slogans of ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ and also forced a Hindu student to praise Pakistan.
“It is highly condemnable to threaten our Hindu sister and force her to wear a hijab. We have just spoken to the police officials. Immediate action should be taken against such persons who target Hindu students by becoming fanatics. Strict action shall be taken”, Goswami stated.
Reportedly, an official complaint has been lodged in the case and the Police are investigating the matter. The victim has attained severe injuries on his head and around his neck. The Police have assured him of strict action against the accused in the case.
German government grows furious as ‘friendly countries’ charge ‘astronomical prices’ for gas
Germany has become extremely reliant on liquified natural gas from the United States to keep its industrial sector and economy afloat, and since the Nord Stream gas pipeline explosions, Germany has become even more dependent.
The pipeline explosion changes the entire geopolitical position of Germany, as it cut off any hope Germany had of restarting relations with Russia and regaining access to cheap gas supplies, which have served as the bedrock of the country’s industrial sector.
Given the circumstances, Germany is growing angry over the “sky-high” gas prices it has to pay from so-called “friendly countries.”
Federal Minister of Economy Robert Habeck has criticized the high cost of delivering liquid gas to Germany. He says that even “friendly countries” have sometimes demanded “astronomical prices,” Habeck told the Osnabrücker Zeitung. He said there is need for further discussion in order to bring prices down.
“I think such solidarity would also be good for curbing gas prices,” emphasized the Green politician with a view to the government in Washington.
The EU must also “bundle its market power and orchestrate a smart and synchronized purchasing practice for EU states so that individual member countries do not outbid each other and drive up world market prices. The market power of the member states is “enormous.”
Besides his criticism of the U.S., Habeck left it open as to which countries he was accusing of price gouging. After Russia stopped being a crucial gas supplier, Germany imported gas primarily from Norway, the Netherlands, and Belgium. Germany’s gas storage facilities are currently 90 percent full, but there are fears that even if the country makes it through the winter with enough gas, prices will rise to unsustainable levels, leading to deindustrialization in the country and a severe recession that could lead to a permanent loss of prosperity.
Zurich University locks out whites
The Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich has declared October “Black History Month”. Here, students can celebrate “the continuing achievements and contributions of black people around the world,” it declared. “It is also a time for continued action to combat racism and ensure black history is represented and celebrated throughout the year.”
To this end, ETH Zurich is dedicating several events to “Black History Month”. However, the events are “deliberately separated for people who are affected by racism and for people who do not experience racism”. Only in this way can people “who feel themselves exposed to racism share their experiences freely and without fear of negative consequences in a safer space”.
Students with white skin are therefore not allowed in these “safe spaces”. However, they are allowed into other rooms to critically question their whiteness: “For people who do not experience racism but want to become allies against racism, we offer the opportunity for a respectful, but possibly controversial dialogue, in a braver room.”
These critical whiteness researchers, for example, in the workshop “How could I have behaved”, are determined to collectively blame all whites: “In accordance with our current respect campaign with the slogan (“Put a full stop when others don’t.”), we will discuss and investigate how, where and when whites can and/or should support BIPoC.” The workshop is already fully booked.
In preparation for “Black History Month”, the ETH has also published a glossary that interested students can use to prepare themselves. “BIPoC is an acronym that stands for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color. The term PoC encompasses all people who are not white and are affected by certain types of racism, e.g. E.g. anti-Asian racism, anti-Black racism, anti-Muslim racism, etc.”

British Muslims Refuse to ‘Affirm Their Loyalty’ to Britain – By projecting Islamic hostility onto Queen Elizabeth
“Muslims should NOT sing the national anthem” is the title and argument of a recent piece by Faisal Bodi of the so-called “Islamic Human Rights Commission” based in London. Written in response to Queen Elizabeth II’s recent funeral, it reveals Muslim sentiment in more ways than one.
First, Bodi engages in the usual: civilizational projection—accusing Britain of mainstream Islamic practices. Thus, he claims that Muslims in Britain “have been beaten into second class citizenship,” when it is Islam, in fact, that openly mandates second class status for non-Muslims living under Islamic rule. The Koran (9:29) goes so far as to insist that Christians and Jews be regularly extorted (via jizya) and continuously made to feel “fully humbled.”
Similarly, after bemoaning how the British “monarch embodies all the cruel atrocities and plunder carried out under the British Empire,” the Muslim living in Britain writes:
Given that this anthem was and is sung as a patriotic ode when Britain has invaded Muslim countries or gone to war with them, it is grotesque to see Muslims belting it out particularly on masjid premises [mosques].
To anyone with an inkling of historical knowledge—true and accurate as opposed to fake and “woke” history—such a claim is beyond misleading. Before any Brit traveled to “Muslim countries”—most of which were violently stolen from Christians—Muhammad’s followers had, for many centuries, been invading, terrorizing, and conquering various parts of Europe in the name of Islam. In their quest to leave no stone unturned, they even plundered the remotest corner of Christendom—Iceland—of its people.
Bodi also argues that “the national anthem is not a religiously neutral song”—it has too many “Christian trappings”—and that British monarchs are “conferred with the title of ‘Defender of the Faith.’ Their principal duty is to preserve the primacy of the Church of England.”
This, for the Muslim “human rights activist,” is also blameworthy—perhaps because it is precisely due to Europe’s “Defenders of the Faith” that Islam could never achieve its goal of conquering Europe, despite centuries of atrocity-laden jihadist campaigns.
The most revealing aspect of Bodi’s argument, at least for those with eyes and ears to see and hear with, is that he does what so many do: invoke “wokist” paradigms to justify their own evil, or in this case, disloyal inclinations.
This especially comes out in the British Muslim’s closing lines: the opportunity for Muslims in Britain to sing the anthem “is being seized on as a chance to affirm their loyalty to the state,” he writes, “which has always been a sine qua non for gaining mainstream acceptance. It’s an embarrassingly demeaning act of servility and surrender and should rightly be condemned as such.”
Although expressing loyalty to one’s country is a perfectly normal expression for most people, there is an unspoken reason that Bodi and other Muslims deem such a pledge “an embarrassingly demeaning act of servility and surrender.”
Far from expressing any loyalty to “infidels,” the Koran calls on Muslims to hate (60:4), fight (9:29), and slaughter (9:5) non-Muslims—“even if they be their fathers, their sons, their brothers, or their nearest kindred” (58:22).
Needless to say, then, expressing any sense of “loyalty” to non-Muslims or their state is anathema for Islam. In Allah’s thundering words, “O you who have believed! do not take the Jews and the Christians for friends and allies…. Whoever does this [befriend or pledge allegiance to any non-Muslim] shall have no relationship left with Allah—unless you but guard yourselves against them, taking precautions. (5:51, 3:28).
Muhammad ibn Jarir at-Tabari (d. 923), author of arguably the most authoritative and mainstream commentary of the Koran, explains what “guard yourselves” means here:
If you [Muslims] are under their [non-Muslims’] authority, fearing for yourselves, behave loyally to them with your tongue while harboring inner animosity for them … Allah has forbidden believers from being friendly or on intimate terms with the infidels rather than other believers—except when infidels are above them [in authority]. Should that be the case, let them act friendly towards them while preserving their religion.
Ibn Kathir (d. 1373), another prime authority on the Koran, writes:
The Most High said, “[U]nless you but guard yourselves against them, taking precautions”—that is, whoever at any time or place fears their evil may protect himself through outward show—not sincere conviction.
As supporting evidence, Ibn Kathir then quotes one of Muhammad’s close companions, Abu Darda, saying “Truly, we grin to the faces of some peoples, while our hearts curse them.”
Nearly fourteen centuries after such faithless words were uttered, an American Muslim, Tarik Shah, who was arrested for terrorist-related charges, boasted: “I could be joking and smiling [with American non-Muslims] and then cutting their throats in the next second.”
In short, Bodi’s real purpose in calling on Muslims to disavow the British anthem has less to do with his projective complaints and everything to do with Islam’s own divisive nature, which requires Muslims to hate—certainly never express (sincere) loyalty to—anything and anyone un-Islamic.
Indeed, if Bodi were more honest, he would drop the grievance mongering and simply reiterate the refreshingly honest words of the Islamic State to the West:
We hate you, first and foremost, because you are disbelievers.… The fact is, even if you were to stop bombing us, imprisoning us, torturing us, vilifying us, and usurping our lands, we would continue to hate you because our primary reason for hating you will not cease to exist until you embrace Islam. Even if you were to pay jizyah and live under the authority of Islam in humiliation, we would continue to hate you.
