Hindu diaspora under attack: The rising trends of global Hinduphobia, attacks by Islamists and propaganda

Recent instances of targeted hate crimes against the Hindu community and its temples by Khalistani and Islamic radicals in Canada, the USA and the UK point towards the worrying trends of rising Hinduphobia in the West.

The everyday instances of discrimination and violence against Hindus due to Islamic extremism are common in the Indian subcontinent. Hindus have endured this suffering for ages. However, recent attacks on them in so-called liberal democracies have time and again proved that there is no escape from this violent Islamic ideology and so-called liberals and Khalistani are useful idiots in this hateful campaign by Islamists against Hindus.

Network Contagion Research Institute, a US-based scientific research organization in its recent report points out that there has been a 1,000 per cent rise in anti-Hindu hate and attacks on the members of the community across the world, including in the USA. The report reflects the dangerous hybridization of hate against the Hindu diaspora particularly in the West. In the words of Joel Finkelstein co-founder of the Network Contagion Research Institute, “We’ve seen that there’s been a growth of over 1,000 per cent and anti-Hindu slurs are stoking fears of replacement mixing with anti-semitic memes, with other forms of narratives, and hatred shared by white supremacists, by Islamists, and others, and creating a toxic atmosphere of hostility”.

This article with the help of independent reports and many recent instances of hate crimes and discrimination against the Hindu diaspora community shows the rising trend of Hindu phobia in countries like the USA, Canada and the UK.

To start with, North America has served as a natural home for Indian talent from various walks of life and Indian Americans particularly Hindus have a huge role in the prosperity of this region. However, in recent times this is increasingly becoming unsafe for American Hindus. Reports of a US-based organisation namely Coalition of Hindus of North America (CoHNA) sheds more light on rising hate crimes against Hindus. This organisation in its statement points out that

Hindus are a vibrant and diverse community that has contributed significantly to American progress, well-being, and democratic values, whether during the COVID-19 pandemic or in the day-to-day things that make the US a great nation”. “Yet, our community is often the target of bigotry and hate, as witnessed in the recent attack on a local temple in New York and the twice desecration of the Gandhi statue on temple premises”.

Similar findings have been pointed out in a historic study done by researchers at Rutgers University on the rise of Hinduphobia and anti-Hindu hatred on social media and other messaging platforms. According to it, there has been a dramatic rise in hate speech and hateful memes directed towards the Hindu community across social media platforms often amplified by Islamists and Khalistani radical elements accusing Hindus of committing genocide of minorities in India. The study finds that Islamists and other extremists are increasingly using genocide memes, tropes and code words to spread Hinduphobia. For example, the term ‘Pajeet’ has been prominently used to describe Hindus in a derogatory manner. Also, deliberate uses of Hindu religious symbols like the Swastika are done for ulterior motives like violence against Hindus and the defacement of Hindu temples. These findings about rising hate crimes against Indian Americans further gets verified by the 2020 FBI data,  according to which hate crimes against Indian Americans are up by 500 per cent. And the irony is that this is despite the fact more than 100 Indian-origin people are occupying prominent positions in the government.

A Delhi-based think tank namely Centre for Democracy, Pluralism and Human Rights (CDPHR) working in the arena of human rights in its recently released report on human rights in the USA has also pointed towards the rampant discrimination and hate crimes against the peaceful Hindu diaspora community. In the words of Dr Prerna Malhotra, head of CDPHR, “Freedom of Religion is one area in which the USA makes much noise, but it fails in practice as it has its own preferred religions. Religious minorities, particularly non-Abrahamic religions, like Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, and Jains routinely face discrimination”. This report also points out that North American Universities have been sponsoring attacks on Hinduism. For example, recently, the University of California at Davis sponsored a Hindu phobic conference which targeted Hinduism and propagated the hateful messages of certain Christian and Islamic fundamentalists. Also, Hindus have been a particular target of the racially entrenched North American political establishment, media and academia.

In North America, Canada is worse as far as hate crimes against Hindus are concerned. Here, with active support from the political establishment to Khalistani radicals, hate crimes against Hindus have seen a rising trend in recent times, particularly during and in the aftermath of farm law protests in India. Hindu temples in particular are targets of these hate crimes. The situation has become so worse that the Indian government is routinely issuing an advisory for Indians living in Canada on many occasions. Chandra Arya, a Canadian lawmaker while speaking in the House of Commons clearly stressed that “The increasingly vocal and well-organised anti-India and anti-Hindu groups in Canada has resulted in increasing anti-Hindu sentiments and Hindu-Canadians are legitimately concerned about rising Hinduphobia in Canada”. This worrying trend gets reflected in the report of Statistics Canada, an official Canadian government agency which points out that there has been a 72 per cent surge in incidents of hate crime between 2019 and 2021 and Canadian Hindus are major victims of this.

Whether it is the sacrilege of Swaminarayan Mandir in Toronto or defacement of another Hindu temple in New York or the recent violence at Leicester in the UK, the role of Khalistani separatists in fomenting anti-Hindu sentiments is increasingly being noticed. These Khalistani radicals often operating hand in glove with Islamists have become a menace to the peaceful Hindu diaspora in the West. They routinely intimidate Hindus on prominent Hindu festivals or on Indian independence or republic day functions. For example, on the occasion of 15th August, A UK-based Khalistani group proudly confessed that they (Sikh radicals) vehemently opposed and pushed Hindus out of Slough city of UK. Similarly, in a disgusting incident at fast-food joint Taco Bell in California’s Fremont, a Sikh radical named Tejinder Singh verbally harassed Krishnan Jayaraman for being a practising Hindu and ridiculed his religious beliefs.

In the Western world, the United Kingdom is another centre of Islamic and Khalistani radicalisation. From being a recruiting ground for ISIS to Jihadi grooming gangs at home, it has become a major hotspot for hate crimes against the successful Hindu community. Its political establishment has allowed this disease of Islamic radicalisation to foster in the name of multiculturalism and in pursuit of appeasement politics. UK Home Office data shows hate crimes against Hindus have gone up from 58 in 2017-18 to 166 in 2020-21, a rise of almost 200 per cent in just four years. These crimes involve racial abuses, violent attacks on Hindus and vandalism of their properties and temples.

A recent incident of a Muslim mob vandalising a temple and several properties belonging to members of the Hindu community in Leicester city of United Kingdom summarises the constant fear under which Hindus are forced to live in the Western cities with significant Muslim and Khalistani demography. These recent targeted attacks against Hindus come after the defeat of Pakistan in the Asia Cup cricket match on August 28 between India and Pakistan. Though for Islamists mere existence of Hindus is a grave provocation but minor instances like loss at a cricket match provide them an opportunity to vent out their hatred against Hindus.

The spate of hate crimes against Hindus has significantly increased during and after the farm laws and CAA agitation in India. The rising trend of Hinduphobia in the UK is also reflected in the recently released report of the Centre for Holistic and Integrated Studies (CHIS) which observes that “An incisive study of the cases of Hinduphobia in the UK show that Muslims and other adversaries have attacked Hindus time and again over issues which are central to Hindu culture. For instance, on many occasions, Hindu festivities have been disrupted, their temples vandalised, their deities mocked, and religious symbols destroyed. This reflects the deep-seated hatred and fear that Islamists hold for Hindu civilisation. In the last one-year, religious hate crimes have increased by 9 per cent in the UK. As observed on the ground, Hinduphobia has risen severely”.

The above description of a worrying trend of Hinduphobia clearly exposes the inhumane Hinduphobic propensity of Western liberal democracies. However, what is worse is that despite being the victim of these violent attacks, Hindus are painted as aggressors thanks to the total narrative control by Islamists, Khalistani and liberals including brown Hindu sepoys. Western media with support from their Indian counterparts have played the role of whitewashing the crimes of Islamists and Khalistani radicals.

For example, Pratap Bhanu Mehta in his article (Exporting division, IE, September 23) blamed the Modi government being in power as the reason for the recent Leicester riots and called on MEA to issue a statement instructing Hindus in the UK not to chant “Jai Shri Ram” in so-called “Muslim Areas”. Today anti-India protests in these countries are synonymous with anti-Hindu sentiments. Hindu diaspora, for most of the time, has shown reluctance to speak against this hatred but they can no longer afford this silence. Despite being at key political, administrative and business positions, being painted as an aggressor shows the narrative slipping out of the hands of successful Hindus and that’s why it is necessary for the community to raise their voice on all platforms against the unholy alliance of Islamists-Khalisanis and liberals particular brown sepoys. At the same time, it is the civilizational duty of the Indian government to protect the interests of the Hindu diaspora and mere routine condemnation via MEA will not do much now.

Trump and Orbán among conservatives to throw weight behind Vox’s Santiago Abascal at Madrid rally

Thousands attended a Madrid rally for the conservative VOX party on Oct. 9, 2022.

Conservative leaders across the world have offered full-throated support to Spanish conservative party, Vox, and its leader, Santiago Abascal, in video messages played at a conservative rally held by the party in Madrid on Sunday.

The prime ministers of Hungary and Poland, Viktor Orbán and Mateusz Morawiecki, the de facto next Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, and former U.S. President Donald Trump, all offered messages of congratulations and support for the party that continues to make electoral gains across the country.

Speaking via video message from a private airplane, former U.S. President Donald Trump praised the Vox party for continuing to promote conservative values and thanked its leader, Santiago Abascal, for the “incredible job that he does.”

“It’s a very unique situation that we’re all in, but we have to make sure that we protect our borders and we do lots of very good conservative things,” Trump said, adding that “Spain is a great country and we want to keep it a great country.

“So congratulations to Vox for so many great messages that you get out to the people of Spain and to the people of the world, and, again to Santiago, I’d like to congratulate you, and thank you very much for the incredible job you do,” Trump added.

Thousands of Vox supporters turned out to support the rally in the Spanish capital, waving Spanish flags and chanting as numerous conservative political allies, including former Colombian President Álvaro Uribe and U.S. Republican Senator Ted Cruz, offered their support for the party.

In a pre-recorded message, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán addressed the attendees of the VIVA ’22 rally, saying it was a “good custom that every year you meet under Spanish flags.

“We also do it in Hungary because it is good for our hearts and souls, and also, because it causes a heart attack for globalist liberals,” Orbán added.

He urged fellow European conservatives to continue to fight the challenges facing Europe. “We have to continue fighting for national interests. We must defend against bureaucrats in Brussels, and keep our customs and sovereignty.”

The Hungarian prime minister said European conservatives “cannot allow millions of illegal immigrants to invade the states of the European Union,” and called on his political allies to “watch over our way of life and our culture, defend our children and our families from globalist ideology.”

“The train from Rome has just arrived in Brussels,” Orbán hailed, referring to Giorgi Meloni’s electoral victory in Italy last month, “and the Madrid train, led by my friend, Santiago Abascal, will leave very soon,” he predicted.

Meloni herself pre-recorded a near nine-minute address for the Spanish audience, who she urged to “go ahead with humility and truth, and people will understand.”

“We are not monsters, the people understand that. Long live Vox, long live Spain, long live Italy, long live European patriots,” Meloni said. “Only by winning in our countries can Europe become a political giant that we want, and not a bureaucratic giant,” she added.

Poland’s Morawiecki, who physically attended the rally, also used the opportunity to heavily criticize the current trajectory of the European Union, accusing the bloc of “turning its back on tradition” and Brussels bureaucrats of “expanding their powers to create a transnational beast without true and traditional values, and without a soul.”

“For years, there has been a silent war in Europe against the values on which our civilization was built,” Morawiecki said.

“We are all children of Christian civilization, we must not forget it. I will not apologize for the fact that I am a Pole, that I am a Christian, that I am someone attached to such supposedly outdated values as truth, freedom, solidarity and law and justice,” he added.

Breaking news: Russia responds to attack on Kerch Bridge

One of the alleged targets was the Ukrainian secret service building in Kiev. Twitter

A meeting of the Russian Security Council is scheduled to take place on Monday after a series of Russian strikes on Ukrainian infrastructure which have continued from the early morning. Kiev authorities have warned of interruptions in communications, electricity and water supply, urging citizens to charge phones and stock up on water.

“The Kiev regime has long been using terrorist methods,” said Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to the proposal of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and according to its General Staff, a massive strike was carried out with long-range precision weapons on energy facilities, military command and communications of Ukraine.

If attempts to carry out terrorist attacks on our territory continue, Russia’s responses will be tough and equal, no one should have any doubts about this,” the Russian leader added.

The strikes come in the wake of an attack on the Kerch Bridge linking Russia to Crimea. In 2018, FWM reported that the bridge could become a flashpoint.

Two major American news outlets, the New York Times and the Washington Post, claimed that the attack on the Kerch Bridge had been orchestrated by Ukraine’s intelligence services. Russian authorities have concurred with their assessment.

The powerful explosion damaged the bridge on Saturday morning, killing at least three civilians and resulting in a blaze on a parallel railway span where seven fuel tanks caught fire. The explosion led to a temporary halt of both road and rail traffic, although both had resumed by Saturday evening.

India: Islamists raise hateful calls to behead non-Muslims  in Jodhpur during Eid procession, one person arrested

Roshan Ali was arrested by Pipad Police for raising Sar Tan Se Juda slogans during procession on Prophet Muhammad’s birthday (Image: SS from viral video/ANI)

On October 9, a procession was taken out in Pipad town of district Jodhpur, Rajasthan, in which the participating Islamists raised ‘Sar Tan Se Juda’ slogans on the occasion of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi. The video of the incident went viral on social media, following which the main accused that instigated the mob to raise the slogans was arrested. Identified as Roshan Ali, the accused was reportedly involved in communal violence in the past as well.

Notably, All India Muslim Jamaat had issued a decree on October 8 in which they had asked not to raise ‘Sar Tan Se Juda’ slogans during the procession on the occasion of Prophet Muhammad’s birthday. The decree was issued for Muslims across the country. However, the Islamists in Jodhpur did not pay heed to the decree and raised ‘Gustakh-e-Nabi ki ek hi saza, sar tan se juda, sar tan se juda’ slogans while passing through Nayapura Subhash Colony, a Hindu-dominating area.

Residents of the Colony filed a complaint at Pipad police station regarding the slogans. The complaint mentioned that the slogans were raised to disturb social harmony and create fear among the Hindu community.

SHO Premdan Ratnu, Pipar Police Station, said in a statement, “A procession rally was being taken out during which we received info that a man, identified as Roshan Ali, has raised objectionable slogans. The accused was arrested and is being questioned.”

The police added that Roshan Ali had been involved in communal incidents in the past. Pipad town is considered communally sensitive, and several communal clashes have happened there in the past.

The ‘sar tan se juda’ slogan and the murder of Kanhaiya Lal

It is noteworthy that ‘sar tan se juda’ is not just a slogan but a violent and hateful call to behead non-Muslims who, as per the Islamists, have ‘disrespected’ Islam. The call for death has been used to kill people over social media posts and settle old scores. Islamists have acted upon the slogan and killed several innocent people in the past for merely posting about Prophet Muhammad or showing support for those who have said anything about the Prophet.

On June 28, a Hindu tailor identified as Kanhaiya Lal was brutally murdered by Islamists identified as Mohammad Riaz and Ghaus Mohammad for allegedly posting in support of former Bharatiya Janata Party spokesperson Nupur Sharma who was dismissed from the party for allegedly giving objectionable remarks against the Prophet during a debate on Times Now.

The Islamists had entered Kanhaiya Lal’s shop on the pretext of getting clothes stitched and attacked him with sharp weapons. Later, the accused shared videos of the murder, saying Kanhaiya Lal was killed to avenge the insult of Islam. He also threatened Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The accused were arrested by the police, and the case was transferred to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) by the Union Home Ministry. It was revealed during the investigation that the accused had got training in Pakistan.

Another Hindu businessman identified as Umesh Kohle from Amravati, Maharashtra, was also brutally murdered by a group of Islamists for supporting Nupur Sharma.

The Anti-White Lie Behind Multiculturalism

By Geoffrey Clarfield

Like America, Canada is a nation comprised of people from around the world. And like America—perhaps even more than America—Canada is wearing racial blindfolds that make the government incapable of seeing that, just as “people of color” represent many different races, lands, and cultures, the same is true for “pale faced” people. This blindness erases Canada’s rich ethnic history.

As an anthropologist who spent 17 years living and working in Sub-Saharan Africa, where Black lives really matter and where everyone belongs to a tribe with which they identify, it pains me that I must explain to fellow Canadians (and Americans) that pale-faced people are not all the same. Are they just one thing — that is, one ethnic group in contrast to the myriad of “others”? No.

Canada’s government allows residents to choose from the following menu as a form of self-definition: White, South Asian, Chinese, Black, Filipino, Arab, Latin American, Southeast Asian, West Asian, Korean, Japanese, and First Nation. I found the most interesting category, “White.” No, there is no such thing as just “White.” Let us consider for a moment all those founding Canadian citizens—the “pale faces”—who were either born here or moved here from abroad.

The first group of Canadian pale faces is the French-speaking citizens of Quebec and other parts of Canada whose ancestors came from France and settled here. They have a strong provincial government that protects and encourages their language, literature, music, poetry, film, scholarship, historical monuments, and all those other things that make a culture distinct.

The Quebecois, as they call themselves, are an ethnic group with a clear sense of who belongs and who does not belong. This week they elected a government that wants to limit immigration and protect the descendants of the founding population.

Then there are the descendants of the Protestant English and the Protestants of Northern Ireland, who founded the area of Upper Canada and conquered the Quebecois, allowing them to retain their culture and religion but insisting that England and things English be the beau ideal of the state.

They knew who was in and who was out. In Ontario, until WWII, there was little chance of a government job if you were not Protestant. British subjects hired British subjects and their children. They intermarried and kept apart from others. In slang, they are called WASPS, and their elites ran the country politically, economically, culturally, and religiously until the 1960s, with some elite Quebecois input.

Canada has many Celts: Irish Catholics, the fourth largest ethnic group in the country, who came from Catholic Ireland (the Republic), and the Catholic communities from Ulster. They are family-oriented, have a deep historic identity, and a culture of song, dance, and literature that they often justly feel may be better than the English speakers who call themselves English. Some of them still speak kinds of Gaelic.

Next come the Scots, lowland Protestants, highland Catholics, and later splinter groups like Presbyterians—but all of them feel Scottish and, similarly, there are the Welsh.

Other pale faces have arrived since these founders. There are Central European pale faces, such as the Dutch, Belgians, Germans (who were once a majority in Kitchener, Ontario), Scandinavians and, of course, the non-conformist Protestant German-speaking Amish and Mennonite religious communities that have flourished here. The same region sent Czechs, Poles, Slovenians, Slovaks, Bulgarians, Serbs and Croats, Ukrainians, Russians, and other Slavs who have been here as Orthodox, Catholic, and Evangelicals for more than one hundred years. Every one of these groups is ethnically distinct and has its own culture.

There are also the “second class” pale faces, such as Catholic Spaniards, Portuguese, Italians, and Orthodox Greeks, all Mediterranean peoples. Although Canada’s Anglo-Canadian-Celtic founders recognized them as some sort of second-order European, these same founders often felt that they just had too many swarthy members and, therefore, were second class. That’s why places used to have restrictive signs about Jews, Catholics, and Blacks.

And what about those Jews? Who are they? Sometimes they look German, Ukrainian, or Sicilian. Still, the constant is that other pale-faced Canadians have always treated them as second-class citizens who must “prove their loyalty.” Like the Jews, the Roma are treated as White, too, despite their Indian subcontinent origins.

Until long after WWII, most of these “pale face” groups were endogamous, and many still are, statistically speaking, meaning that they married, lived and, often, worked among each other and not members of other ethnic groups.

So why are all the pale faces, and almost pale faces, these days lumped together as Whites on a government census? This is very bad anthropology. It is not science-based. It is not empirical, and—God forbid! —it’s not evidence-based either. Also, remember that some pale-faced groups hate and persecute other pale-faced groups, a key aspect of many “ethnic boundaries.” Consider the war in Ukraine! This is just one example.

The madness of this census and its broken categories comes down to one thing: political correctness and Critical Race Theory, which, when taken together, must invent a category of “White” so proponents can blame everyone else’s suffering on this social construct. This ignores the fact that pale-faced ethnic groups are as diverse as people of color. If we were to take the CRT acronym of DIE (“diversity, inclusion and equity”) seriously, then these groups and the individuals who comprise them should be allowed to self-define.

Since we now live in a society that allows us to choose our pronouns, why can’t we choose our ethnicity as our fundamental defining feature, for it realistically includes things like neighborhoods, religious affiliation, and a way of looking at the world (not to mention good food)?

Should not, according to this twisted logic, the next government census reflect this multicultural truth? Can I again quote singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen (deceased member of one of Canada’s transnational minorities) because the truth is, “Everybody knows.”

These Canadian census categories are very bad anthropology. They are unbalanced, and they are used to reduce hiring in the private sector and the government by those who are naïve enough to check off their category as “White.” The newspapers here are full of examples, and the policies are not hidden. Affirmative action based upon these bogus anthropological categories is totally out of control in this once fine country.

Canada and Canadians are at their best when they reject the politicization of personal identity; when they abide by the shared traditions of Anglo-American law and the Judeo-Christian tradition; and above all, when they are judged by the quality of their character, not by the color of their skin or ethnic identity.

Canadians, like Americans, must reject the politicization of ethnic labels. Give the study of ethnicity back to the anthropologists, for that is where it came from. Let us once again become individuals, equal under the law.

AfD achieves electoral success in Lower Saxony, FDP falls out of parliament

In Lower Saxony, the conservative Alternative for Germany (AfD) party succeeded in re-entering the state parliament with 11 percent of the vote, almost doubling its result compared to the 2017 election, the Junge Freiheit news outlet reported.

The Social Democrats (SPD) won the ballot, according to a projection by Infratest dimap at 9:47 p.m. With their top candidate and current Prime Minister Stephan Weil, they won 33.4 percent of the votes, while SPD thus lost around 3 percent.

Weil’s challenger, the Christian Democrat (CDU) candidate Bernd Althusmann, obtained 28.1 percent of the votes, a significant loss. The Greens came in third with 14.5 percent, making record gains of around 6 percent.

Grand coalition could continue to govern Lower Saxony

The Free Democratic Party (FDP) fell out of parliament with 4.8 percent, and with just 2.6 percent, the Left Party also failed to clear the 5 percent hurdle.

That means that the grand coalition of SPD and CDU can continue, but a red-green coalition is also an option for the election winner, Weil.

FDP Vice-chairman Wolfgang Kubicki did not want to entertain a personal discussion about party leader Christian Lindner in view of his party’s poor performance on election night, telling the ARD broadcaster that it was not appropriate on such an evening.

Chrupalla praises the AfD election campaign in Lower Saxony

Federal Labor Minister Hubertus Heil (SPD) was concerned about the electoral success of AfD. According to him, right-wing extremists exploit people’s fears, while social democracy, on the other hand, stands for social cohesion.

AfD boss Tino Chrupalla, however, was delighted with the outcome of the election.

“We acted as a united federal and state party,” he said, praising the local election campaign in Lower Saxony and emphasizing that his party had identified the right issues. Again, he criticized the sanctions against Russia as harmful to Germany.

The federal chairman of the Greens, Omid Nouripour, assessed the election result as a vote against the grand coalition in Lower Saxony and a vote for a red-green state government. The Greens’ top candidate, Julia Willie Hamburg, also advocated this at her party’s election party.

Election winner Weil looked back on an “unpleasant election campaign” in his evening speech. According to him, the voters were only going to give SPD a government mandate and no one else.

Swiss child emergencies have increased by more than 50 percent

Pediatrics Switzerland has warned of supply bottlenecks if the situation in pediatric emergency care continues to deteriorate.

Children’s hospitals in Switzerland sounded the alarm after the number of child emergencies increased by more than 50 percent in the first half of 2022 compared to the previous year. Pediatrics Switzerland, the specialist organization for child and adolescent medicine, expects the worst.

The emergency stations are increasingly reaching their limits, according to a statement, as reported by the Tages-Anzeiger. It is assumed that the situation will continue to worsen during the cold season.

Rural regions with few established paediatricians are particularly affected, says Claudia Baeriswyl, Secretary General of Paediatrics Switzerland. But even in big cities like Bern, Geneva and Zurich, paediatric sections are heavily burdened.

“We are afraid of what is to come,” said Katja Berlinger, Managing Director of Swiss Medi Kids. At the three locations of the children’s permanence network – in Zurich, Lucerne and Winterthur – 200 to 500 children are examined every day. The rush is particularly high at the moment. Because of the measures against Covid-19, the children’s immune systems have been weakened and many have fallen ill even before the cold season has begun.

At the same time, there is a lack of medical professionals. “The situation is desperate,” said Berlinger. The staff is “excessively challenged even before the high season”.

Swiss Medi Kids could even soon be forced to reject non-life-threatening cases.

The situation in children’s hospitals is also tense. “Caution: overcrowded emergency station” warned the children’s hospital in Eastern Switzerland on its website. Waiting times of up to 6 hours can currently occur. Seriously ill and seriously injured patients have priority. “We are very busy,” spokeswoman Fabienne Stocker told the Tages-Anzeiger.

At the end of September, the NZZ am Sonntag reported on the problem of overload in children ‘s emergencies. The newspaper also addressed the lack of skilled workers, which is the central problem for some experts.

“The Corona pandemic has accentuated this deficiency again,” said Didier Plaschy from Bern’s Inselspital. According to Plaschy, the Inselspital in Bern had to record significantly more staff resigning during the pandemic. “People didn’t just change departments; they have definitely left the profession and are now working in other sectors.”

According to a survey by Swiss Nurse Leaders, the association of nursing managers, 2 300 positions are currently vacant; In 2021, 1476 positions remained vacant. According to the survey, 9 out of 10 nurses stated that the basic care of the patients was only possible if the staff worked overtime.

BIG PHARMA AT WORK: Twitter Censors Florida’s Surgeon General Dr. Joeseph Ladapo for Recommending Young Males Refrain from Receiving COVID Vaccine
