German government plans to make immigration easier to fill 1.7 million vacancies

Bureaucracy and formalities should no longer prevent German employers from hiring skilled foreign workers in the future, according to the German federal government.

As reported in Germany’s Handelsblatt newspaper, the German government wants to lower the formal immigration requirements for entry into the country, a move that will apply above all to the recognition procedure for professional qualifications.

“Industry, trade, healthcare: We urgently need more skilled workers in many areas. We have to pull out all the stops to leverage the potential at home and abroad,” Interior Minister Nancy Faeser and Labor Minister Hubertus Heil wrote in a guest article for Handelsblatt on Wednesday.

Given the 1.7 million vacancies in Germany, which companies are increasingly having problems filling, President of the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce Peter Adrian believes that policy adjustments on immigration are overdue.

“We have to compensate for the demographical loss of 4 to 5 million workers over the next 10 years,” he told the publication.

It is, therefore, important that the immigration of skilled workers also works in practice. This starts with functioning diplomatic missions, visa offices, and immigration authorities.

“”It’s unacceptable that employers must chase the immigration office, which is responsible for granting work permits,” said Adrian.

A new migration package will come

“The shortage does not only exist for highly qualified specialists but in almost all professions and for most qualifications,” said the president of the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW), Marcel Fratzscher. “Therefore, Germany will need 500,000 additional employees annually over the next 10 years.

The federal government has already presented a first migration package that intends to give foreigners living in Germany for many years a permanent situation. Faeser and Heil also want to launch a second migration package.

Specialists, who have professional experience and a degree from their home country, and who have successfully applied for a job in Germany, will be allowed to come and work. The employers will have to finance the recognition procedure that runs parallel to the work.

With the Skilled Immigration Act, came into force in March 2020, the immigration of professionally qualified people has already become easier. However, before foreign nationals can arrive and work in Germany, they usually must prove that their qualifications are comparable to the professional qualifications required in Germany. This costs “valuable time,” wrote Faeser and Heil, and money that the applicant pays.

“We are doing away with a migration policy shaped by the CDU and CSU,” continued Faeser and Heil.

Many consider recognition of professional qualifications a big hurdle and bottleneck for immigration, if only because procedures by many competent authorities are not easy to navigate for interested parties from abroad.

According to the Federal Statistical Office, the competent authorities or chambers processed around 59,000 recognition procedures in 2020, and 44,800 professional qualifications obtained abroad were recognized in full or with a few exceptions.

The traffic light coalition wants to make the process easier

Faeser and Heil’s plans go even further. Under current proposals, experienced professionals would be allowed to enter Germany without an employment contract to look for a job, subject to two conditions: They must still apply for recognition of their qualifications from abroad at a responsible office in Germany and have them certify that their qualifications are at least partially comparable to German ones.

They must also prove that they can support themselves. They can then seek work in Germany, catch up on the knowledge they need to be recognized as a skilled worker, and acquire a residence permit.

The traffic light coalition wants to facilitate the immigration of skilled workers with already recognized qualifications as well. In the future, this would enable employment in a non-specialist profession. A trained carpenter could then take a job in sales, for example, if he has a professional qualification recognized in Germany.

“Our immigration system is still too sluggish, too bureaucratic, too dismissive. As a traffic light coalition, we have set out to change that,” wrote Faeser and Heil. “If you have a recognized professional qualification, you can work in all jobs.”

In addition, the earnings thresholds will be lower for university graduates who come to Germany via a so-called Blue Card. There is currently a minimum salary limit of €56,400 per annum.

So far, Germany has witnessed a huge influx in migrant labor as a result of the European Union’s freedom of movement principle. However, the migration balance with other EU countries peaked at 382,000 in 2015 and has been declining since.

With immigration from the European Union stabilizing, migrants from third countries are now being targeted by liberal governments to fill job vacancies.

At the end of 2021, the Federal Statistical Office counted around 70,000 holders of a so-called EU Blue Card, which applies to skilled foreign nationals with a university degree. That is a new high; however, the pandemic has also significantly slowed down immigration per this route.

The pandemic temporarily inhibited mass immigration

Overall, the annual number of migrant workers from non-EU countries more than doubled between 2010 and 2019 – from around 30,000 to 64,000. Since 2016, the so-called Western Balkans regulation, which was originally introduced to relieve the asylum procedure, has also contributed to this.

Citizens from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, the Republic of North Macedonia, Montenegro, and Serbia are allowed to accept any employment in Germany, regardless of their qualifications, except for temporary work.

The annual quota is limited to 25,000 immigrants. The regulation, particularly popular in the construction industry, is limited until the end of 2023. The SPD, Greens, and FDP have agreed per the coalition agreement to extend it indefinitely.

The coronavirus pandemic has also slowed migrant labor from third countries. In 2020, despite the new Skilled Immigration Act, only 30,000 people who received a residence permit for gainful employment officially entered Germany. Immigration alone will not solve the labor problem, believes DIW President Fratzscher.

The economist warned that the focus should be more on women’s employment than relying on migrant labor to fill gaps in the German workforce. More than half of the women in Germany work part-time. Many would like to work more if the financial, family, and bureaucratic conditions were better.

“Therefore, the federal government must finally focus on removing employment obstacles for women,” said Fratzscher, calling on reform and massive investment in daycare centers and schools.

Norway: Three years in prison for stating a man can’t be a mother?

Norwegian prosecutors are investigating “hateful” tweets by feminist Christina Ellingsen directed at a man claiming to be a lesbian woman. If convicted, Ellingsen faces up to three years in prison.

“You are a man. You can’t be a mother,” feminist Christina Ellingsen said on Norwegian national television. She was responding to comments made by “Christine Marie” Jentoft, representative of the trans activist group Foreningen FRI. As CNE News reported, Jentoft is a biological male who identifies as a lesbian.

Amnesty International Norway accused Ellingsen of “harassment” because of this. Ellingsen tweeted: “Normalising the idea that men can be mothers is a defined form of discrimination against women.”

Ellingsen wanted to know why the FRI was teaching young people that men can be lesbians. “Isn’t this conversion therapy?” said Ellingsen. She later wrote how “crazy” the FRI was, an “organisation that supposedly protects the interests of young lesbians”.

Now the Norwegian Public Prosecutor’s Office is investigating Ellingsen. The charge: hate speech. In the worst case, she faces three years in prison. According to CNE News, the accusation has to do with the fact that the concept of gender identity was added to the Norwegian law paragraphs on insult and hate crimes in January 2021.

The fact that the police are legally able to investigate and prosecute women who advocate for women’s rights is worrying, Ellingsen explained: “This is new territory in Norway, so the outcome of the investigation is important.”

According to her, women in Norway are not protected against so-called hate speech. “But men who claim to be both lesbian and a woman are protected on the basis of both their gender identity and their sexual orientation,” Ellingsen notes.

In an interview with Tucker Carlson on Fox News, Ellingsen said that she had received a lot of support from different quarters, but also a lot of criticism. She was accused of calling for genocide, being a fascist and a Maoist. Ellingsen was not surprised by the invective, saying it was to be expected.

“If you can’t talk about biological reality, it’s inevitable,” Ellingsen said.

Previously, she had been sympathetic towards radical feminism, Ellingsen explained. She also used to vote for the left. Now, on the other hand, she is much more critical of what they actually say. Ellingsen concludes: “All parties in Norway support this pseudoscience”.

CNE News reported that in 2021 a Norwegian man was already convicted of “insulting” and “misgendering” a transgender male on Facebook. He was sentenced to 21 days in prison and a fine of around 1500 euros.

A similar ban on “hate speech” is also being devised in the Netherlands to protect gender identity from “insults”, according to CNE News. The issue is also being discussed at the European level. At the end of 2021, the European Commission proposed to add hate speech to the existing list of “EU crimes”. A decision on this is to be taken soon in Luxembourg. According to Bas Tichelaar, director of CitizenGo in the Netherlands, it is “… a tactic of the radical left to censor any criticism of their ideas worldwide. By changing the definition of freedom of speech, freedom of expression is endangered. When it is suppressed, the system of government turns into a totalitarian tyranny.”

CitizenGO launched a petition in the beginning to stand up for freedom of expression in Europe. “We see more and more how laws against hate speech can be misused to persecute people with a different opinion,” Tichelaar said.

Another major problem is the lack of a clear definition of alleged hate speech and hate crimes.

British Anne Frank Trust Invited Islamist Who Called for Murder of Jews

The real lesson of the Holocaust is killing Jews.

Nasima Begum, who used to work as the spokeswoman for the Muslim Council of Britain, does not like Jews very much. Past tweets include heartfelt thoughts such as “Death to you Zionist scum”.

This didn’t stop her from getting work with the BBC or being brought on board by the Anne Frank Trust UK to train the “youth” in the arts of tolerance.

Despite the name of the murdered Jewish girl, the Anne Frank Trust UK was seeking trustees with “lived experiences” of “anti-black racism, disabilism, homophobia and transphobia” and was “particularly keen to address anti-black racism as a priority” as “highlighted by the Black Lives Matter movement”. Those merely concerned about matter of anti-semitism need not apply.

Organizations with Anne Frank’s name, but having nothing to do with her, Holocaust victims or the Jewish community have proliferated around the world. These organizations, generally not even Jewish, have instead served as incubators of antisemitism in exactly this sort of way.

The Anne Frank Foundation in Switzerland funds BDS hate groups. An Anne Frank center in Frankfurt Germany compared ISIS terrorists to Jews. At the Anne Frank Center in Berlin, a Muslim guide compared Israel to Nazi Germany. The Anne Frank House in Amsterdam removed references to Anne’s Jewishness, banned a guide from wearing Jewish clothing and attacked Israel. An exhibit placed a photo of former Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon side by side with one of Hitler.

And yet this may be the first time an Anne Frank organization invited a speaker who had called for the murder of Jews. So many Anne Frank groups had tiptoed around it, but the Anne Frank Trust UK actually went out and did it.

“We are excited to welcome performance poet, producer and creative practitioner, Nasima Begum, to our special workshop this evening.” the Anne Frank Trust UK announced.

Begum’s job was “youth empowerment”.

Not surprising when the Assistant Director for Youth Empowerment at the Anne Frank Trust is Amna Abdullatif who tweets enthusiastic support for antisemitic politician Rep. Ilhan Omar.

Under pressure, the British organization announced that Begum “may have views that are not consistent with our values” and promised that it would launch an investigation even though controversies over Begum had already been aired in the past and would have been known to it.

There is a reason that this keeps happening at organizations named after Anne Frank.

Anne’s story was hijacked early on with a play, The Diary of Anne Frank, by Lillan Hellman, a Hollywood Stalinist, who turned it over to Albert Hackett and Frances Goodrich, the Communist-linked married couple who purged most of the Jewish references.

Since then, Anne Frank has been reinvented in the form of various races, most recently as an illegal alien hiding from ICE, and another production which sought a “multi-racial cast representing many heritages.” The elimination of Anne’s Jewishness, much like the universalization of the Holocaust, presages antisemitism. Once the Jews have been replaced in their historical role, it becomes all too easy for antisemites to turn Jews into the new Nazis.

And their killers, whether the PLO, Hamas or ISIS, into the new Jews.

Nasima Begum claimed that Israel’s resistance to Islamic terrorism was “the Holocaust all over again” with “Palestinians” as the victims and “Zionism scum” as the perpetrators.

The Anne Frank Trust UK may find this sort of explicit wording vulgar, but it’s no coincidence that the same ideas have manifested themselves at the Anne Frank centers in Berlin and Frankfurt, at the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam, and now in the UK. It’s what happens when the story of the Holocaust is reframed in terms of general principles detached from the Jews.

Or as the Communists who rewrote Anne’s story had her say in the play, “We’re not the only people that’ve had to suffer.” The fictionalized version of a dead Jewish girl declares to applause. “Sometimes one race, sometimes another.”

Transforming the Holocaust into a general story about intolerance and prejudice all too easily becomes a partisan story whose broader lesson is the moral supremacy of leftist virtues.

And those virtues are routinely used to call for the death of Israel and the murder of Jews.

Rewriting the Holocaust as a struggle between the Left and the Right is itself Holocaust revisionism because it ignores the Soviet mass murder of Jews, the Hitler-Stalin pact and the collaboration of western Communists, including Lillian Hellman, in that Communist crime.

Hellman, had defended the Hitler-Stalin Pact and participated in the Communist-front “Keep America Out of War Committee”, making her a Nazi collaborator, and yet was allowed to play a role in transforming the story of a murdered Jewish girl into leftist agitprop.

While Hellman was suppressing Anne’s Jewishness, the Soviet Union was suppressing the Jewish elements of the Holocaust. True Jewish commemorations of the Holocaust were banned in the Soviet Union. Any discussion about the mass murder of Jews was tightly controlled. Even while it was covering up the Holocaust, the Soviet Union launched a propaganda campaign against the newly reborn State of Israel whose key elements, including the apartheid smear, are still widely in use among leftists, including those operating at Anne Frank centers, today.

Before Islamists were shouting, “Death to you Zionist scum”, Communists were shouting it.

The Soviet regime’s favorite taunt though was slurring Zionists as “fascists” or “Nazis”. A Communist regime that had massacred Jews and collaborated with the Nazis originated the smearing of Israel, of Zionists, and of Jews as Nazis. The latest such incident at an Anne Frank Center is the long legacy of the leftist hijacking of the Holocaust to justify the murder of Jews.

Italian premier Draghi set to resign as call for unity fails

Italy’s Prime Minister Mario Draghi seemed set to quit on Wednesday after a confidence motion crucial for the survival of his coalition government failed to win enough support in the Senate, as three main parties shunned the vote.

Two right-wing ruling parties – Matteo Salvini’s League and Silvio Berlusconi’s Forza Italia – decided not to back the motion in favor of Draghi’s leadership, and were joined by the dissident 5-Star Movement, which was responsible for sparking the political crisis last week.

The confidence motion passed with 95 votes in favor and 38 against it: a weak and unacceptable outcome for Draghi, who in his Senate speech had earlier issued a call for national unity as a condition for staying in place.

The embattled premier is now expected to meet President Sergio Mattarella on Thursday morning and tender his resignation again. Mattarella had rejected Draghi’s first offer to resign last week, asking him to assess the political situation in parliament.

Now, the president will not be left with many alternative options. The most likely decision would be to dissolve chambers and call early elections, most probably in early October.

Draghi made clear in his Senate speech that he was willing to stay in his role only if the parties in his broad coalition threw their full support behind his leadership.

He highlighted the challenges that Italy is facing, naming the war in Ukraine, soaring inflation, the energy crisis, and widening social inequalities.

His call for a new “pact” between the litigious partners of his right-left coalition, however, crashed against the conflicting requests of the parties and their crossed vetoes.

The end of Draghi’s 18-month-long government deals a blow to Italy’s credibility among international investors and risks to unsettle financial markets.

The new phase of political uncertainty comes at a crucial time for the highly-indebted country, which needs to meet the necessary conditions to receive its €200 billion share of the EU’s recovery fund.

Italian court finds vaxx likely dangerous, questions legality of mandates as Nazi, restores blacklisted psychologist

This is an important story. It seems an Italian court found in favour of the law, and superseded what is increasingly obviously corrupt state health ministries.

Quoting from RAIR: “During a Thursday evening television interview, Italy’s left-wing Minister of Health, Roberto Speranza, whose educational background is in political science rather than medicine or biology,…”

Canada’s minister of health at the start of the Pandemic was Patty Hajdu who was trained as a graphic designer, and no medical background. The following minister, and current one is Jean-Yves Duclos, an economist who graduated the communist think tank, Fabian Society’s own university, the London School of Economics. No medical background there either.

Please do read the details at RAIR

Iraqi man abused and raped his Austrian second wife and forced her to have an abortion after she had attended a church service

A 38-year-old man was sentenced to four years in prison for several offences – including aggravated coercion and rape – at the Feldkirch Regional Court on Friday. Despite the defendant’s protestations of innocence, the senate believed the victim, who was awarded 6,000 euros in compensation. The verdict is not legally binding.

The 38-year-old, who originates from Iraq, met the 30-year-old Vorarlberg woman in 2020 in a bar in Dornbirn. At that time, he was already married to a woman from his home country, with whom he has five children. The 30-year-old woman converted to Islam and wore a headscarf on his behalf. A wedding according to Muslim rites followed, the 30-year-old became the second wife of the Iraqi.

According to the woman, he repeatedly told her what to do and oppressed her – even by force. There were slaps in the face, beatings, threats. In spring 2021, the woman from Vorarlberg became pregnant. Because she had entered a Catholic church in the course of a baptism celebration among acquaintances, her husband demanded that she terminate the pregnancy, according to the indictment. He threatened to abduct her to Iraq and kill her. The woman gave in and had the pregnancy terminated.

Only a little later – in the summer of 2021 – the 38-year-old forced his wife to have sexual intercourse against her will in their shared flat in the district of Bregenz, according to the court’s findings. Nevertheless, the 30-year-old did not report the perpetrator until he had gained access to her flat in an unknown manner after the relationship had ended.

The jury did not believe the statements of the suspect, who insisted on his innocence. He was sentenced to four years’ imprisonment, the verdict is not final
