The Covid fear factory is trembling
By S.R. Piccoli
Hard times are coming for vaccine fanatics and fear-mongering lockdown enthusiasts, or at least that’s what we can reasonably expect after reading the news coming out of South Africa and the U.K. about the Omicron variant. As a matter of fact, the data out of South Africa after five weeks of Omicron spread and out of the U.K. in the first full week after Omicron hit the country suggest that the new Covid-19 variant should be a cause for celebration and relief, not fear and alarm—yet that’s not the direction in which the American media and many politicians are heading.
What we know now is that Omicron’s symptoms are considerably less severe than the Delta strain. Of course, further investigations using larger data sets are needed to confirm this trend. Scientists and health authorities need all the data they can get from the U.S. and other Western countries about Omicron, but the initial premises are encouraging.
At this point the question naturally arises: Why is it that the public health establishment and the media are working hard to generate a tide of public hysteria around Omicron? Before trying to answer the question, though, let us look in detail at why it makes sense to pose the question in the first place.
To begin, as South African Health Minister Joseph Phaahla explained at a press conference, even when his country was recording its highest number of cases since the spread of the pandemic, only 1.7% of identified Covid-19 cases were hospitalized in the second week of Omicron infections, compared with 19% at the same point in the cycle during the Delta wave.
Moreover, according to Discovery Health CEO Ryan Noach, on average, fewer of the infected people in South Africa who did end up in the hospital required oxygen and ventilation, and the proportion who required intensive care, or ended up in the ICU, dropped to about 13% from 30%. Perhaps even more importantly, excess deaths, the number of deaths above the historical average, are below 2,000 a week, an eighth of their previous peak. In addition, 91% of those infected with Omicron have already recovered.
As for the United Kingdom, the Daily Mail reports that Covid-19 was behind just one in 16 deaths in England and Wales in the first full week after the Omicron variant hit Britain, and virus fatalities hit a two-month low. This means that just 764 of the nearly 12,000 fatalities recorded in the two nations were linked with the virus in the seven days up to December 10.
Everything seems to suggest that Britons who fall ill with the Omicron variant are less likely to become severely sick than those who contracted Delta. That’s what British-American surgeon, professor, and author Marty Makary—who is one of America’s leading healthcare experts—had to say on December 16’s “Brian Kilmeade Show.”
“We’re seeing this massive new wave of fear that is fueling our second pandemic after Covid-19, which is a pandemic of lunacy, which is omicron. Now I call it omi-cold,” Makary said. The Omicron variant, he explained, “stays superficial in the nose and bronchus. So that’s why we’re seeing a common cold-like illness.” He added, “This new scientific data from the lab explains the epidemiological data and the bedside observation of doctors that this is far more mild… and that’s why I call it omi-cold.”
In the light of the above, I think we can guess the answer to our question, and New York Times bestselling author Heather Mac Donald sums it up: “The official response to the Omicron variant provides a case study in the deliberate manufacture of fear.” Mac Donald offers six key strategies in play. The following are just a few highlights from her summary explaining how the official response to Omicron is exploiting it to further its own aims:
- “The media want you to believe that everyone around you is scared out of his mind, and thus you should be, too. Man-on-the-street interviews quote Nervous Nellies exclusively.”
- “The only public health experts whom the media quote are those determined to put the most dire spin on Omicron. They stress worst-case hypothetical scenarios and dismiss actual good-case evidence. At best, they may grudgingly admit that Omicron symptoms are disproportionately mild, but rush to assert that there are still many as-yet unrealized grounds for worry.”
- “The media intone repeatedly that much remains uncertain about Omicron, including how likely it is to cause severe disease.”
- “Bury both good news and dissenters from the bad news. [snip] Just as we are supposed to believe that everyone around us is universally spooked, so we should believe that there is an unbroken expert consensus about the likely disaster that is Omicron.”
Mac Donald’s descriptions accurately reflect our real-life experiences. It’s not by chance that the media is obsessing about case count. Case counts are one of the most deceptive measures of pandemic severity when symptoms are mild to non-existent in the majority of the infected.

Vaccination rate in UK appears significantly lower than official reports
The British people have been misinformed about vaccination coverage for months. According to the government, it is 89 percent for people over 12. However, a new report showed that the actual jab rate was 62 percent, according to data analyst Daniël van der Tuin on Substack.
In the United States a similar faulty figure has been communicated. Millions of first shots were wrongly registered there, Bloomberg reported.
The British report, published by the UK Health Security Agency, revealed that there were not five million, but at least 15.3 million unvaccinated people. If children are included, this is actually 23.5 million people, said Van der Tuin. The total population of the UK is about 56 million people, of whom 47.8 million are older than 12 years.
“The new information […] explodes any conclusions about hospital admissions by vaccination status,” explained the data analyst, adding that it was likely that this also applied to other countries, including the Netherlands.
There are millions of unvaccinated people
According to the Corona dashboard of the Dutch government, some 85.9 percent of the population have been fully vaccinated. However, the Our World in Datawebsite, which is maintained by researchers at the University of Oxford, indicates that only 67 percent of the Dutch population is fully vaccinated.
Investigative journalist Patrick Savalle responded: “Another wappie [derogatory term in Dutch for a vaccine skeptic] conspiracy theory coming true. We have always said that the vaccination rate was at a maximum 60 percent, not 85 percent. In Britain this now appears to be true. That will be no different in the Netherlands. We are millions of unvaccinated. So persevere.”
The UK’s vaccination rate is significantly lower than previously stated. This is according to a report from the British government which put the rate at 62.2 percent and not 89 percent. The numbers are not correct in the US either. Conclusions about Covid cases and Covid deaths are therefore completely unreliable.
Bloomberg reported that the United States falsely registered millions of first injections ignoring the important role of reliable data in guiding responsible public health decisions. There have been growing signs that governments have been juggling the numbers for political ends. After the scandals about unreliable PCR tests, adjusting causes of death and the incorrect presentation of hospital figures by RIVM in the Netherlands, “blunders” have surfaced in the United Kingdom and the United States.
When a very high vaccination rate was reached in September, Patrick Vallance told the British public that there were only 5 million people left who were still unvaccinated. Patrick Vallance who is the UK government’s Chief Scientific Adviser, was previously president of the pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline.
Denouncing the ‘small’ unvaccinated minority
The faked high vaccination rate encouraged some British administrators and journalists to denounce the unvaccinated as a small obtrusive minority. This is remarkable, because it was already clear at the time that the effectiveness of the vaccine was declining, that British vaccinees had ended up in hospitals and that the vaccine did not prevent transmission.
In the Netherlands, pharmaceutical adviser Ab Osterhaus was allowed to tell the Dutch Public Broadcasting that unvaccinated people should be banished to an island, journalist Fransisco van Jole wrote that unvaccinated Christians should die and the outgoing minister De Jonge said he had “zero respect” for the unvaccinated people.
US officials admitted on December 18 that authorities had been overstating the number of first injections by millions. The explanation is that millions of booster shots were registered as the first or second shot. This means that there are actually millions more unvaccinated in the United States.
The new information about inflated data from the United Kingdom, combined with the reports from the United States, implodes all conclusions about hospital admissions by vaccination status. Western governments evidently have been acting in concert under the influence of supranational organizations such as the European Union, WHO and all kinds of commercial stakeholders to present politically adjusted figures.
Injections have zero effect on on healthcare admissions
Official figures from the UK also showed that the vaccinated population was responsible for the majority of Covid admissions since at least August 16 and some 63 percent of Covid admissions were vaccinated. This percentage reflects the actual vaccination rate of 62.2 percent quite accurately. It also means that injections have had no effect whatsoever on healthcare pressure.
There are more deaths among British vaccinees
The vaccinated British population, from August 16 to December 5, have suffered more deaths. There were only 3.1 thousand Covid deaths among the unvaccinated, while there were 12.1 thousand Covid deaths among the vaccinated population. This means that almost 80 percent of Covid deaths had been vaccinated. This high percentage is related to the higher vaccination coverage among the elderly. And despite the injections, they can still die from the Coronavirus.
The vaccinated population thus accounted for four out of five corona deaths in the last four weeks, although the group at risk had already received their “booster” in September and October.
This also coincided with the figures from Lower Austria from the beginning of December, as Wochenblick reported.
While Germans are desperately looking for a flat, left-wing state governments are giving flats to Islamist terrorists, even if the latter do not live in Germany anymore
In Hamburg, people are desperately looking for flats. But a radical Islamist family who emigrates to Morocco keeps their flat from the municipal housing association SAGA?
That is exactly what happened with the family of terror suspect Abdurrahman C. (20), who allegedly wanted to kill people with a nail bomb.
The flat is in a plain grey building: three rooms, 69 square metres, 650 euros per month.
The names of family father Hamid C. (51) and his wife are displayed on the door – even though the couple and their four children left Germany five years ago.
How can this happen? Is rent being paid? Is the flat sublet? SAGA does not want to answer any questions – data protection.
One thing is certain: the flat was searched in the course of the investigations against the terror plotter because he was staying there.
Father Hamid – an Islamist who is said to have contacts to al-Qaida – was accommodated there. Reason: He visited his son in custody.
Christian Democratic Union (CDU) justice expert Richard Seelmaecker: “It is significant that it is possible for Islamists under the Social Democratic-Green government to go underground and live unmolested in a flat of the municipal housing company.”
Belgium: A clash between about 40 Afghan refugees and Turkish locals broke out in Genk last night. Nineteen people arrested, two injured
Two people were injured by two knife wounds in the centre of Genk on Saturday evening at around 8 pm, after two groups with a total of forty youths clashed.
Afghan youths from the asylum centre in Lanaken and Turkish youths from Genk sought to confront with each other. Two knife attacks occurred during the skirmishes. In the first stabbing at the train station in Genk, an 18-year-old from Genk was slightly injured.
In the Klokstraat, an 18-year-old young man from Genk was also stabbed with a knife. The young man was given first aid and was then taken to hospital. The young man was seriously injured, but his life is no longer in danger. The group of forty youths then made their way to the district of Kolderbos (Genk). The local police were immediately on the scene with several patrols. The police were able to arrest a total of 19 youths aged 15 to 25 from Lanaken in the Kolderbos district and on the Augustuslaan and Bilzerweg in Zutendaal. The youths from the asylum centre were taken to the police stations in Genk, Bilzen and Hasselt for questioning. The forensic laboratory carried out a thorough examination of the traces at the crime scene. After identification and questioning, 18 youths were released.
A 17-year-old suspect from Lanaken is still being questioned. The Limburg public prosecutor’s office will decide on his possible arrest at a later date. The police in Carma are conducting further investigations, it was announced on Sunday.
France: Muslim disrupts Christmas service
On Friday December the 24th, at around 6.30pm, police officers intervened in the Rue Albert-Tomey in Carcassonne after an incident at the Saint-Vincent church.
According to information from L’Indépendant, a drunk man stormed into the Christmas service and shouted to everyone that he was a Muslim.
The 52-year-old Moroccan was very quickly arrested by the police forces deployed to secure the places of worship during the holidays and taken to police headquarters for the necessary sobering up. No charges were filed.
South Africa drops quarantine for asymptomatic Covid cases
The South African Ministry of Health has announced that it has suspended all quarantine measures for asymptomatic Covid-19 cases with immediate effect, official broadcaster SABC News reported. This applies to both the unvaccinated and vaccinated people.
In addition, contact tracking will be discontinued – except in cases of so-called cluster outbreaks.
According to a statement by the ministry, people with a positive Corona test but without symptoms would no longer be obliged to self-isolate.
There is also no longer the obligation to submit a negative Corona test before resuming work after an isolation period of eight days. All infected people should be able to return to work after eight to ten days without presenting a test.
The majority of new cases are incidentally in the Western Cape, which is also the most vaccinated province. Overall, South Africa has a low vaccination rate of around 20 percent.
