European Commission withdraws new language guidelines

After a storm of outrage, the EU Commissioner for Equality, Helena Dalli, withdrew an internal guideline on inclusive language, Junge Freiheit reported.

“We are looking into these concerns with the view of addressing them in an updated version of the guidelines,” she announced.

The purpose of the directive was to sensitize Commission members to the linguistic nuances of the “diversity of European culture.” This included the different religions and life paths of EU citizens.

The guide that Dalli presented in October criticized, among other things, the term “Christmas period,” which leaves out EU citizens of other cultures. The term is often used to refer to the holidays in December, but not only the birth of Jesus is celebrated in this month, as Jews celebrate Hanukkah as well.

Likewise, when choosing a name, the Christian tradition is often used. In fictional examples, the guideline suggested using names like Malika and  Giulio instead of biblical first names such as Mary or John.

The document also warns against using words that are not gender-neutral and advises that special gender pronouns be used for people who do not identify as exclusively male or female.

The authors of the guidelines also had a problem with addressing women in English with Miss or Mrs., depending on marital status.

Furthermore, the guide called for language to be more considerate when referring to disabled people. Instead of “John Doe is disabled,” it should read “John Doe has a physical impairment.” The document also advised against the formulation “bound to a wheelchair.” A better expression is “wheelchair user,” the guideline states.

France: Shops accused of Islamophobia banned by Bordeaux city council!

Commercial planning commissions are usually supposed to prevent the siting of overly large shopping centres to the detriment of city centres.

I have never really understood the benefit of this, except that it gives a lot of power to local politicians, with the risk of corruption being very high in view of the effort…

A major retailer will lobby the French Chamber of Commerce (CDAC) to prevent a competitor from moving in. The CDAC has a lot of room for manoeuvre. Cash still exists; what guarantees us that a boot full of banknotes will not be placed in the boot of a CDAC member to say “no” to a settlement project? Many cases are anything but clear-cut!

It is very pleasant to be able to reach shops without having to pay for parking spaces in the city centre, without having to endure traffic jams, bumps, small roundabouts and other incursions that plague the life of the ordinary citizen.

A wide road, a driveway, a huge car park, a department store – that’s the dream of the ordinary Frenchman with his diesel. Probably too staid!

So they implemented this rather questionable “trick”, which from now on introduces extraneous considerations into the logic of the supposed harmony of the French nation’s territory. This was already not very convincing from the beginning, but now it becomes downright outrageous.

So now, according to the CDAC of the Gironde department, in order to obtain a permit for a commercial extension, one would have to be an Islamophile and in particular express one’s support for the “Uighurs”, the Chinese Muslims.

One wonders what this has to do with commercial URBAN CONSTRUCTION, i.e. the good organisation of French cities in the name of the general interest, especially aesthetics and spatial balance – answer: NONE!!!

Once again, I am fed up with an international issue interfering in national affairs. Especially in an era beset by borderless Islamic terrorism.

When it comes to urban planning and aesthetics, there is a lot of good and not so good here too. It did not bother many MPs to build mosques in traditionally Christian landscapes, as in Poitiers with its highly visible minaret, and at the same time to step on the toes of ordinary citizens when they want to change the appearance of a building that is within the perimeter of a historical monument.

Bordeaux residents are thus deprived of the expansion of the Zara shop, which is suspected of profiting from the forced labour imposed on “Uighur” Muslims, although the company denies this “accusation”.

A decision, moreover, that violates Chinese sovereignty. Who are we to tell the Chinese how to punish the Uyghurs? This is a typically controversial question, with the radical left defending the Uyghurs as much as the “Palestinians”. One knows these people well by now and knows how little one can trust them.

It is high time to put these aberrations in order!

Anti-semitism among Arab journalists of the German state broadcaster “Deutsche Welle”

Several employees of the Arabic editorial office of the German public broadcaster “Deutsche Welle” have made anti-Semitic statements in posts on the internet in the past. This is what the newspaper “Süddeutsche Zeitung” reports in its Wednesday edition, citing an extensive analysis of a large number of social media posts and articles published in Arabic media.

One editor, for example, called the Holocaust an “artificial product” on Facebook and wrote that the Jews would continue to control “people’s brains through art, media and music”.

Another employee wrote columns in an Arabic-language newspaper before her time at the German foreign broadcaster, which is financed with almost 400 million euros of taxpayers’ money, and wrote there, among other things: “If the Islamic State were fighting for liberation in Palestine, I would revise my judgement of it, its men and its financiers. And if it kicked the Israelis out of the Holy Land, I would be in its ranks.” One of the channel’s correspondents wrote of a “barbaric war machine” in a tweet suggesting a reference to Israel, while a freelancer from the Deutsche Welle Academy, which works independently of the editorial office, tweeted: “The Holocaust is a lie #FreedomOfSpeech”.

The two journalists stated that their remarks were to be understood as advocacy for freedom of expression or taken out of context, reports the newspaper. A spokesperson for the broadcaster also wrote the latter in a statement in relation to Facebook posts by an employee, which, according to information from the newspaper, were pointed out to the editorial management at least twice by internet users. As a result of the newspaper enquiries, some affected employees deleted their accounts or individual posts on the social media. But too late: According to the newspaper, it was able to secure the statements in question and many others in advance via screenshot.

Deutsche Welle (DW) is the foreign broadcasting service of the Federal Republic of Germany and a public institution. However, it is not financed by broadcasting fees, but by taxpayers’ money. Most recently it received around 400 million euros per year.

Is this perhaps only the tip of the iceberg? What about the other state broadcasters? The Office for the Protection of the Constitution should take action here and investigate the ARD and ZDF broadcasters to see how it is that so many anti-Israel reports are allowed to be published.

Dozens of German doctors are calling for the end of all Corona measures

On November 24, around 50 medical professionals published a letter demanding the lifting of all government anti-Corona measures in Germany. The criticisms of the illogical political course are mounting.

The signatories in the advertising paper Südthüringer Rundschau include twelve doctors, including Volker Heinbuch, chief physician in geriatrics at the Hildburghausen Clinic, which specializes primarily in senior citizens.

The undersigned come from different medical fields: gynecology and obstetrics, general medicine, pediatric and adolescent medicine as well as internal medicine.

“We stand up for the right to physical integrity and we firmly oppose the discrimination against people who have not been vaccinated against Covid-19,” the frontpage letter stated.

With a vaccination rate of just over 60 percent, Thuringia ranks third from the bottom (behind Saxony and Brandenburg). The vaccination rate is particularly low in the Hildburghausen district. Only 47,3 percent of the people there are fully vaccinated.

Three senior physicians from the Regiomed clinics in Hildburghausen and Coburg are among the signatories.

The management of the Regiomed clinics quickly distanced itself from the signatories. The employees are obliged “to align their work with the latest scientific findings and to observe and implement the protection against infection and the prescribed hygiene measures,” it said.

However, it is not clear which scientific findings are referred to by the management.  And whether the management, consisting of people with no medical qualifications, is in a position to evaluate the “scientific findings” in the same way as a chief physician can, is an open question.

Thuringia’s Minister of Health Heike Werner from the leftist party Die Linke said on November 25 at the Thuringian Hospital Forum in Erfurt: “It is counterproductive when medical staff stand behind calls to end all measures and to rely on personal responsibility.” Clearly leftists rely not on personal responsibility but rather on mainstream media lies as illustrated by the tweets below.
