Muslim riots over pork on German children’s ward – he is acquitted despite many previous convictions

This trial was pretty weird! Because a little boy (8) did not want to eat his Christmas goose, his father (36) was now in court.
What happened?
On Christmas Day 2018, the son of industrial worker Ilker Y. was hospitalised in the children’s ward of the Diakonie hospital in Bad Kreuznach (Rhineland-Palatinate). They had Christmas goose for lunch. But the eight-year-old did not want it. His father refused an alternative menu (pork) for religious reasons.

The disaster took its course.
Because the nurse had to take care of another chronically ill child after serving food, the boy remained hungry. His father went berserk, shouted at the nurses and called one of them a “Nazi”.
Nurse Berna D.: “It got louder and louder, so I locked myself in the ward room with a colleague and a doctor out of fear.” Patients and visitors panicked.
When the police arrived, Ilker Y. stormed towards the officers with his fists raised, according to the newspaper “Rhein-Zeitung”. They tried to calm him down, and a new argument broke out.

The father refused to leave the clinic, so the police officers forcibly pushed him into a lift and took him away from the clinic premises.
Nurse Berna D. told the newspaper BILD am SONNTAG: “Later his wife came and said: ‘You always see each other twice. Then we were really scared! After work we always went to our cars as a group.”
Ilker Y. was charged with resisting law enforcement officers and was sentenced to a fine of 5,000 euros at the local court. He appeals.
On Friday, the surprise came at the Bad Kreuznach district court: The judge dropped the case because of minor culpability! Y. has several previous convictions, including insulting behaviour, bodily harm and driving without a licence.

Islamic education in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia: Islamists and Turkish influence agents pull the strings

The infiltration of the public school and education system in North Rhine-Westphalia by Islamist influence agents controlled from abroad is becoming more and more dramatic: after it became known that the Düsseldorf state government had also appointed the mosque association Ditib, controlled by the Turkish Erdogan regime, and a successor/cover organisation of the banned “Millî Görüş” to the advisory board on state-run Islamic education, further suspect networks are becoming known.

The newspaper “Welt” reports of a “hot line from the Islamic association Ditib to the Ministry of Education” – in person of an influential advisor to the Ministry of Education, Ahmet Ünalan, a political scientist at the University of Duisburg-Essen, who is an expert on Islamic religious education. He was heavily involved in the inclusion of Ditib in the state’s lesson planning, which is now causing nationwide outrage.

After all, the Federal Prosecutor General’s Office was already investigating several Ditib imams for alleged espionage for the Turkish secret service, and, according to the “Welt”, there have been frequent cases of Ditib congregations spreading war propaganda and anti-Semitism. This is precisely why Ditib had to vacate its position on the advisory board, the predecessor of the new commission, in 2017. Now, however, due to an officially “new statute” of Ditib and the self-sacrificing lobbying of Ünalan, among others, it has been reinstated – by the FDP-led Ministry of Schools and Education.

Ünalan vehemently denies having a leading function in Ditib, but his connection to the Erdogan-run association is beyond question: according to the register of associations, the Institute for Turkish-European Relations, which he was one of the founders of, operates at the same address as the Ditib mosque in the Wahmeimerort district of Duisburg – and he maintains close contacts to the Turkish government, whether to the religious authority Dyanet or to the AKP lobby organisation UETD, is unclear.

20,000 pupils are currently attending Islamic lessons in Germany’s most populous federal state, and the number is growing every year; all the more ambitious, therefore, are the attempts of the Turkish regime in Ankara to gain influence over the German and foreign Turks as the largest group of Muslims living here and thus to establish a “fifth column” in the Federal Republic – with far-reaching Islamisation aspirations for the future. It is a disgrace how naïvely the state government watches this goings-on and willingly tolerates it.

Escaped from IS militias and allegedly accidentally shot dead by her husband in Germany while she was sleeping

In cold blood or a tragic accident?

A man has been standing before the Göttingen Regional Court since Tuesday for having shot his sleeping wife in Einbeck (Northeim district) in April 2020. After the bloody deed, Cemal A. (49), completely drunk, called 911 and declared that he had accidentally shot his wife Besma († 27) while cleaning his pistol. The accused possessed the gun illegally. Unusually, he had not removed the magazine, among other things, before cleaning his pistol.

The prosecution considers the accident version a cheap excuse and assumes murder.

Bitter: According to Kurdish women’s rights activists, the Yazidi woman had fled from the ISIS militias to Germany. Here, the mother of three apparently became a victim of her violent husband. It is suspected that she wanted to separate from him.

The trial will continue on February 8.

Canada ignores COVID restrictions for pro-Hamas protests

By Andrea Widburg

May and June 2020 in America witnessed a very bizarre phenomenon: The same jurisdictions that had locked down completely, banning church services and shopping for flower seeds, all to prevent COVID’s spread, announced that massive BLM rallies, riots, and eventual looting were inconsequential when it came to COVID. This May, Canada has done something similar. The same nation that’s been fanatically hostile to liberty because of COVID has dropped its regulations for pro-Hamas rallies. It’s the magic of leftist “science” all over again.

Canada has gone crazy (there’s no other way to put it) when it comes to the quixotic effort to stop COVID’s spread. Despite its low COVID death rate, Canada has made every effort to stop religious worship within its borders, going so far as to arrest a pastor for daring to hold services. It’s been pursuing anti-maskers with KGB-esque vigor and just recently ticketed dozens of people who attended an anti-lockdown protest. It’s also extorting people who had the temerity to travel abroad and then return home, mandating that they stay in select, and often very expensive, hotels for three nights to “quarantine.”

In other words, Canada is still living like America in spring 2020. And just like America in spring 2020, Canada has an exception to all the rules. In America, the exception was for BLM protests. The same people who had been telling us that salvation lay with stopping the economy and embracing solitary confinement for every American, suddenly announced that BLM rallies and riots weren’t too big a risk. Then, magically, when President Trump announced he would resume rallies, the Democrats’ so-called “scientists” again fretted about crowds and COVID.

In Canada, the exception is Hamas. A large pro-Hamas rally in Edmonton attracted hundreds of people, none of whom seem to have been bothered by the COVID police or disapproving journalists. Instead, we get this supportive reporting:

This isn’t the first large-scale rally supporting Palestinians in Edmonton in the past week. People from all walks of life have been out offering support, according to Mousa Qasqas.

“There’s been so much outreach from the community saying, ‘We want more, we want to hold our politicians accountable.’”

Calgary also had large rallies which met with the approval of Canada’s state media, the CBC:

Around 400 demonstrators met at Calgary’s Olympic Plaza, before marching through downtown.

[snip]

It was the latest after at least three other large protests in support of Palestinians held in the city.

On Friday, Tucker Carlson devoted an entire episode to the degradation of science under the aegis of leftists. Whether it’s transgenderism, climate change, or COVID, scientists no longer follow the scientific method, one that sees them propose a theory, subject it to rigorous testing, and abandon it if the scientific method proves it untrue.

Nowadays, scientists in all woke Western countries, including America, subscribe to the “political method” – they determine which outcome will support their political ideology and then retrofit the “science” to fit, no matter how brutally they must mutilate the facts. We have returned to the science of the Dark Ages, before the Renaissance and the Enlightenment brought rigor and honesty to the process.

Macron tells Africans ‘France has no fixed identity’

Emmanuel Macron concluded his two-day visit, to Rwanda and then to South Africa, on a very political note. Praising, in a speech to the French community in South Africa, the “partnership” that he wants to forge with the countries of the continent, the president said he aimed to “change views and minds” on France’s relationship with Africa. For France the message was also very clear: Macron declared that “France has no fixed identity”.

Speaking to the “millions of young people” in Africa who are linked to France “through their families, through generations” Macron promised them a future. “We will stop telling them:  It’s a problem and you have to integrate yourself . We are finally going to tell them: You are an opportunity for France and you are going to help us develop this common history”.

In Rwanda, in Kigali, the French leader admitted “the extent of France’s responsibilities” in the genocide of the Tutsis.

In the mind of Emmanuel Macron, the three spectres of the young African tomorrow will be jihadist temptation, the absence of an economic horizon and flight. “I say it with lucidity, if we are complicit in the failure of Africa, we will be accountable but we will also pay dearly, especially in terms of migration”, he asserted. “It will be a face-to-face, with the Mediterranean as the theatre. Few people imagine what it will look like. If this African youth does not have an economic opportunity, if we do not train them, if we do not have good health systems in Africa, then they will emigrate. The fact of migration is therefore a signal of failure in our official development assistance policies. We have to review everything, otherwise we will not solve it.”

But the French president is faced with an immediate fixed-identity dilemma back home: A study produced by the French Observatory for Drugs and Drug Addiction (OFDT) in partnership with the National Institute for Health and Medical Research – Inserm, pointed to the direct involvement of certain African tribes in massive drug trafficking affecting the daily life of hundreds of thousands of inhabitants in the French capital Paris.

The problem is so huge that the report has proposed that in Paris and in Seine-Saint-Denis several inhalation rooms be set up for crack addicts, as well as rest areas and reception structures. This would naturally also greatly help dealers if their victims are taken off the streets since it would hide the extent of the problem. These are the main recommendations of the authors of the study on crack in Île de France, carried out jointly by the OFDT and Inserm.

The role of the Senegalese Mouride Islamic diaspora in the trafficking of crack in Paris was highlighted in the study. The money from the crack sold in Paris is sent to Senegal and funds the Mouride community.

The powerful Mouride brotherhood, long confined to the city of Touba, has greatly expanded its influence to the heart of Dakar, the capital of Senegal. On September 27, 2019, after 10 years of work, it inaugurated its great mosque, built on a former six-hectare swamp land in the popular district of Bopp, donated in 2009 by former president Abdoulaye Wade. Its name,  Massalik ul Jinaan (The Paths of Paradise), is inspired by one of the poems of the 19th century founder of Mouridism, Cheikh Ahmadou Bamba Mbacké, a Sufi preacher established in Senegal.

The religious building covered with marble has five minarets, the highest of which rises to 78 meters, and prayer rooms that can accommodate 15 000 people, as much as its esplanade. It is adorned with monumental chandeliers and decorations made by Moroccan craftsmen. With a total capacity of  30 000 places, the mosque is smaller than the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca, Morocco but still the largest in West Africa.

The Mourides has introduced Islam the traditions of the Wolof tribe. Other brotherhoods, sometimes more numerous but less powerful, exist in Senegal, in particular the great Tidiane brotherhood. The cost of this huge building alone largely exceeded 30 million euro, affirmed the coordinator of the works Mbackiyou Faye, without counting the Islamic institute, a residence and a museum nearby.

This large sum, in a country where poverty affects at least 40 percent of the population, was collected from the faithful, religious leaders, political figures and large companies as well as the Organization of Islamic Conferences (OIC) based in Saudi Arabia, which met in Dakar in May 2008, at the invitation of President Abdoulaye Wade.

Conservative commentator Eric Zemmour pointed out the result of the study on CNews: “All crack traffickers are Senegalese,” he said. Soon after his remarks were aired, the Senegalese government called on the chairman of the Board of Canal + in Africa, to have Zemmour banned.

In South Africa, the French leader focused on the production of vaccine products. But Macron’s “health” concerns amounted to a boost for the monopolist Aspen Pharmaceuticals to produce vaccines at the cost of the taxpayer, as it had done with HIV drugs.

Only one percent of South Africa’s population of 59 million have been vaccinated – most of them health workers and people aged 60 or above. The immunisation effort failed because South Africa purchased AstraZenecaproducts and then sold them to other African countries following safety fears. Then, after it started inoculating health workers, using the Johnson & Johnsonproduct, it was paused mid-April over blood clots that had been reported.

French Judiciary Frees Extremist Antisemitic Murderer

Paris, April 4, 2017. 4:00 am. A man breaks into the home of Sarah Halimi, a 65-year-old retired Jewish physician and educator. He beats and tortures her for over an hour while reciting verses from the Quran and repeatedly shouting, “Allahu Akbar!” [Allah is the greatest!”]. He uses anti-Semitic slurs and calls her “Sheitan” (Satan). He throws her from the balcony of her apartment and she falls to the ground, three floors below, dead. The police arrest him.

What happened was an unspeakable antisemitic murder. It was also the start of a process that brought to light once again the many serious and shameful dysfunctions that mark today’s France.

The murderer, Kobili Traore, an immigrant from Mali who became a French citizen, is a recidivist criminal who had already been arrested and sentenced by the courts 20 times for violent assaults. He was nonetheless free. His only known professional activity is, in two words: drug dealer. He told the officers who arrested him that he is a drug addict and had smoked marijuana in the hours before the murder.

As a drug dealer, convicted time and again for violent assault, he was free to reoffend. This time, however, he committed murder.

The testimonies of Sarah Halimi’s neighbors revealed that the police arrived at the scene of the murder while she was still alive. The police officers apparently went upstairs to her apartment door, heard her screaming and another voice shouting in Arabic. What did they do? They went back downstairs and waited for reinforcements — until the victim was dead.

They left the murderer alone with his victim. Why is this not a clear case of dereliction of duty? Yet, no investigation has been carried out to determine what, if anything, was the responsibility of the police.

The neighbors’ testimonies also revealed that Traore had met Dr. Halimi and her daughter several times in the stairwell of the building where he had threatened them and had called them “dirty Jews”. Her neighbors added that Traore had often visited an Islamist mosque. Three days after the murder, on April 7, Paris prosecutor François Mollins nonetheless publicly declared that all the elements at his disposal showed that the murder of Sarah Halimi had “no antisemitic motive”.

How could he have said that when so many elements available at the time showed exactly the opposite? The lawyers for Dr. Halimi’s sister and children fought for more than six months before, on January 23, 2018, the antisemitic nature of the murder was recognized by French department of justice.

Irregularities took place that were even more scandalous:

  • The murderer, under the influence of an illicit substance, was immediately sent to a mental institution, not to prison. Who decided that? Usually, a person arrested after a crime and found to be “under the influence” is arrested, placed in a cell to sober up, then charged by a judge. Why was this case not treated the same way? Who made that decision and why?
  • The judge who conducted the investigation, Anne Ihouelou, is a member of the “Syndicat de la magistrature” (Magistrate’s Union), a militant left-wingorganization with a record of supporting the actions of Islamic organizations, including those of the Collectif contre l’Islamophobie en France (CCIF, Collective against Islamophobia in France), created by members of the Muslim Brotherhood (the leaders of the CCIF decided to dissolve the association in November 2020). Why, in the name of justice, would anyone entrust an investigation into the murder of a Jewish woman by an antisemitic Muslim to a member of an organization like that?

In addition, during the investigation, Judge Ihouelou repeatedly violated the most basic rules of her profession by behaving in a strikingly biased way. First, she refused to allow any reconstruction of the crime. She ruled that reconstructing the crime would be “traumatic” for the criminal. She also refused to meet the lawyers of the victim’s sister and children to hear what they had to say. She still has never met them. She has also never responded to letters they sent her presenting their arguments. She did, however, ask a psychiatrist, Daniel Zagury, for his expert opinion. His report stated that even though at the time of the incident the killer was under the influence of marijuana and in a state of “acute delirium”, he could nonetheless be held responsible for his actions.

Six months later, in April 2018, Judge Ihouelou requested a second expert opinion. This time, she chose a group headed by another psychiatrist, Paul Bensussan. His report concluded that the “acute delirium” made the murderer not responsible for his actions, implied that Traore was not guilty and therefore could not be tried. Ihouelou requested a third report, from a third psychiatrist, Roland Coutanceau, who did not decide one way or the other. Eventually she selected the conclusions of the Bensussan report, and, on July 12, 2019, in agreement with two other judges, declared the murderer not guilty and cleared of all charges.

The file was immediately sent to the Court of Appeal. On December 19, 2019, its decision stated that the Traore had indeed committed an antisemitic murder, but it validated the decision of Judge Ihouelou, and said that he was not responsible for his actions at the time of the murder and could therefore be granted his freedom.

How could a Court of Appeal validate an investigation in which a reconstruction of the crime never took place; in which the lawyers for the family were never heard, and at the end of which, the decision was rendered solely on the basis of a psychiatric report written months after the facts; based mainly on the statements of a murderer, and contradicted by another psychiatric report?

The Court of Cassation (the highest Court in the French judicial system) was called on to make a final decision. On April 14, 2021, it validated the decision of the Court of Appeal. The murderer will walk free.

The French Jewish community, for four years, was virtually alone in demanding justice for Sarah Halimi.

For six weeks after Halimi’s murder, the mainstream French media did not even mention it. The French presidential elections were close. “Two weeks before the elections,” university professor Sarah Cattan said on the French public radio channel, France Culture, “the government did everything to prevent publicity on an antisemitic murder”. So, apparently an antisemitic murder, committed in Paris, was hidden from the French public for political reasons.

After May 7 and the second round of the French presidential elections, France’s mainstream media continued to remain silent about the murder. The first article about it, published on May 23, 2017, in the daily Le Monde, asked, “Was Sarah Halimi killed ‘because she was Jewish?'” Its answer seemed to be no. On June 1, 2017, a statement signed by 17 intellectuals was published in the daily Le Figaro: “Let the truth be told about the murder of Sarah Halimi”. The text spoke of “rare barbarism” and said that the murderer had shouted “Allahu Akbar”, but the words “Islamic antisemitism” are nowhere to be found. “Denouncing far-right antisemitism is very easy in France,” said geopolitical analyst Alexandre del Valle, “denouncing Islamic antisemitism is almost impossible. Attempting to do so immediately arouses heated reactions from Muslim organizations, and the mainstream media and political leaders prefer to avoid any trouble”.

The decision of the Court of Appeal has caused immense outrage in the French Jewish community. “A Sarah Halimi jurisprudence has just been created”, saidFrancis Szpiner, the lawyer for Halimi’s children: “any person declared to be suffering from a delusional puff because he took an illicit substance dangerous for his health will be exempt from criminal liability”. Gilles-William Goldnadel, lawyer for Sarah Halimi’s sister, called the finding an “ideological decision”.

The ruling of the Court of Cassation again caused outrage in the French Jewish community. Joel Mergui, president of the Israelite Central Consistory of France, wrote:

“[T]his decision risks significantly eroding the confidence that the Jews of France have in the justice of their country and in its capacity to protect them…. The judiciary considered that the murderer did not have enough discernment to be judged, but, according to the same judiciary, he had enough discernment to choose his victim, remember their religion, and commit a murder recognized as anti-Semitic”.

“Deciding to take narcotics and then ‘going mad’ should, not in my view, remove your criminal responsibility”, said French President Emmanuel Macron, addingthat the French laws needed to be changed.

Meyer Habib, the Member of Parliament representing the Eighth Constituency for French residents overseas (elected by French citizens residing in Cyprus, Greece, the Vatican, Israel, Italy, Malta, San Marino and Turkey), commented that even if the laws were changed, the murderer of Sarah Halimi would be free anyway.

Demonstrations were organized — in Paris and other major cities such as Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, London, New York, and Los Angeles — to demand justice for Sarah Halimi. Sadly, those who demonstrated were almost all Jews. The protests are unlikely to change the situation. Legally, the decision of the Court of Cassation cannot be reversed.

An Algerian author, Boualem Sansal, wrote a courageous article in which he explicitly denounced:

“all those who in one way or another made it possible that one day, in France, in Paris, an Islamist enters the home of a woman, an neighbor in this case, of the Jewish faith, tortures her and throws her out of a window while shouting Allahu Akbar, and is now free, free to continue his miserable existence, honored and congratulated as one would suspect by his own for having fulfilled a founding commandment pronounced by Allah against Jews and Christians, [and] repeatedly recalled in his sacred book, the Koran … The murderer is officially authorized to continue his work of hatred and death”.

Nili Naouri-Kupfer, president of the organization “Israël is Forever” wrote:

“The French government and justice department are afraid of the Muslim voters, afraid of the Muslim street. They think it doesn’t matter if a few Jews are killed if peace can exist in their cities. They choose to sacrifice Jews rather than face the Muslim threat, therefore there never again will be peace in France! “

“I no longer trust the justice of my country”, wrote a lawyer, Gilles-William Goldnadel. He filed a complaint against the murderer, invoking Article 13 of an Israeli procedural law stating that in the event of an assault on the life of a Jew committed abroad, Israeli law applies. Francis Szpiner, a lawyer currently serving as the mayor of the 16th arrondissement in Paris, joined in the complaint.

A radio commentator, Raphaël Nisand, on the French station, Radio Judaïca, wrote in the weekly Tribune Juive:

“[T]his affair is… the illustration for those who might still need it, of the vital utility of Israel so that justice is done to the Jews all over the world. This evidence, inaugurated with the Eichmann trial, unfortunately regains all its force due to the failure of French justice”.

A renowned French psychiatrist, Charles Melman, founder of the International Freudian Association, observed that a verdict based on an “acute delirium” leading to no longer being responsible for one’s actions is medically unacceptable, because cannabis does not induce delirium, but only suspends inhibitions:

“[T]he murderer clearly discerned the reference text which could guide his action, and far from creating confusion in him, cannabis only helped to lift ordinary inhibitions. The poison did not alter his behavior and his judgment, it magnified them.”

Sarah Halimi is now part of the long list of Jews murdered in France by people imbued with Islamic antisemitic hatred. Sebastien Sellam, 23, was stabbed to death in November 2003 by his neighbor, Adel Amastaibou, who told police, “I killed a Jew. It was what Allah wanted”. He had smoked cannabis. A psychiatrist said that he had committed a “delusional act”. He was declared not responsible for his act by the court and quickly released. Ilan Halimi, 23 as well, was kidnapped, tortured and murdered less than three years later by a group led by Youssouf Fofana, who claimed that he had acted in the name of Allah. The atrocious attackon a Jewish school in Toulouse on March 19, 2012 by Mohamed Merah left four dead: three children and the father of two of them. The attack on a koshersupermarket near Paris also left four dead, all Jews. Mireille Knoll, an 85 year-old woman who had survived the Holocaust ,was murdered in Paris by her neighbor, Yacine Mihoub, a few miles from Sarah Halimi’s apartment, on March 23, 2018, less than a year after the murder of Sarah Halimi.

Every year in France, dozens of violent physical attacks against Jews take place. The French Service for the Protection of the Jewish Community states that 44 attacks occurred in 2020, some extremely serious. Sammy Ghozlan, president of the National Office for Vigilance Against Antisemitism, remarked that attacks against Jews in France are far more numerous, but that their victims are often afraid to file a complaint.

Commenting on a report on anti-Semitism in eleven European countries, investigative reporter Judith Miller wrote on February 17, 2020: “The most dangerous place to be a Jew in Europe is France”.

“Without French Jews”, said former French Prime Minister Manuel Valls after the attack on the kosher supermarket, “France is not France”.

On April 25 in Paris, Sarah Halimi’s brother, William Attal, addressed a crowd. Once again, he explained in detail the atrocities suffered by his sister and added that a country where an antisemitic murderer can be freed by a questionable decision of the judiciary is a fallen country. “Is France,” he asked, “still France?’

WATCH: Anti-Semitic uprising of the Islamist Hizb ut-Tahrir militia in Hamburg, Germany

Once again shameful scenes of hatred against Jews on German streets – watched by the state power!

These are anti-Semitic excesses that we have seen again and again in German cities since Hamas terrorists bombed Israel’s civilian population over many days and Israel retaliated with air strikes. Mostly young Muslims take to the streets in Germany and demand the destruction of the Jews and their state.

The latest crime scene: Hamburg. There, dozens of Islamists gathered on Friday for a march of the haters in the St. Georg district, not far from the main railway station. A pro-Palestinian demonstration was announced. In fact only a pretence!

The police report reads plainly: around 200 demonstrators were peacefully protesting against Germany and Israel on Steindamm. The chants were mainly in German, but also in Arabic. There were no criminal charges. According to the police, “about 30 officers” were on the scene.

But it was not as harmless as the police said!

The Twitter video of politician Ali Ertan Toprak shows what really happened. Coffins were placed on the street and the demonstrators chanted: “Israel – child murderer”, implying that the Israeli army was deliberately murdering children.

Again and again, a man with a megaphone gives the slogan, the rest shout it: “Out of Aqsa, forever” and “From the Ummah, for the Ummah!”

By Aqsa, the Islamists mean the area of the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. Among other things, the al-Aqsa Mosque, the third most important sanctuary of Islam, is located there. But for much longer, it has also been home to the Wailing Wall, the last surviving remnant of the Second Temple and the most important site of Judaism. For the Islamists, who propagate an ideology of superiority and do not regard Jews and “infidels” as equal human beings, it is the task of the Ummah, a supposed community of all Muslims, to expel or kill the Jews from this place.

The state chair of the Hamburg Christian Democratic Union (CDU), Christoph Ploß, and Toprak issued a joint statement:

“We are stunned and appalled by this Islamist and deeply anti-Semitic as well as anti-Israeli march on Hamburg’s streets. There must be a clear response to this: There is no place for Islamists, enemies of the constitution and anti-Semites in Hamburg. The militia-like, martial appearance, which is meant to intimidate and frighten, is alarming. We must never allow anti-Semites and enemies of Israel to abuse our civil liberties for their disgusting purposes. Jewish life is inextricably linked to our city. It belongs visibly and safely in the centre of our city.”

The openly displayed hatred of Jews is an attack on everyone. And further: “When anti-Semites want to spread fear and terror, it needs a strong response from the rule of law. Words and statements alone are not enough.”

On Saturday afternoon, the police announced that they were evaluating the Twitter video for possible criminal offences.

According to information from the newspaper BILD, the Islamist group Hizb ut-Tahrir is behind the demonstration. The organisation advocated the “liberation” of Muslims from supposed oppression and aimed to establish a worldwide caliphate. For reasons of “self-defence”, “Hizb ut-Tahrir” also approves of violence.

Since January 10, 2003, however, the organisation has no longer been allowed to be active in public in Germany. The then Federal Minister of the Interior, Otto Schily (SPD), issued a prohibition order.

Nevertheless, “Hizb ut-Tahrir”, according to the report, carries on its recruitment work online. In social networks, the initiatives “Reality Islam” and “Generation Islam” are said to be ideologically part of it.
