16-year-old Chechen youth arrested for a planned terrorist attack: He allegedly tried to obtain weapons and scouted out the synagogue in Le Mans, France

The National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor’s Office (PNAT) confirmed on Tuesday the opening of an investigation against a minor born in 2008. The teenager was arrested, charged and remanded in custody last week in France for a plot that the judiciary considered to be terrorism-inspired, according to sources close to the case who told AFP news agency on Tuesday.

A source familiar with the case confirmed in particular that the minor, who comes from western France, had been arrested and taken into police custody last week for a planned act of violence in the country.
