Police officers were astonished when they checked an overcrowded car on the federal highway B168 in Pinzgau in Salzburg on Friday evening. The vehicle was occupied by eleven – instead of the permitted nine – passengers. Four children were playing in the boot of the car during the journey. Moreover, no one in the car was wearing a seat belt, and a 15-year-old boy was driving.
The young holidaymaker had replaced his 43-year-old father as the driver. The excuse of the vehicle hirer was that he was overtired.
The Arab family was temporarily banned from continuing their journey. They also had to pay bail. The police wrote several charges.
