The PGA Tour Latinoamerica, which has already suffered the death of a caddy, was struck again by tragedy last week when another caddy collapsed on the golf course and died in a hospital in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico.
On Friday, the organizers of the tour issued a statement on the sudden death of Mexico City’s caddy Alberto Olguin. Olguin collapsed on the ninth tee caddying for his player, Venezuelan Manuel Torres.
The drama took place as Torres was playing the final hole in the first round of Thursday’s Dev Series. According to a tour press release, “rescue workers performed a cardiopulmonary resuscitation and brought Olguin to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead”.
In June, a Colombian caddy also died from sudden cardiac failure during the second round of the Latinoamerica’s Holcim Colombia Classic. “Following second-round play at the Holcim Colombia Classic presented by Volvo in Bucaramanga, Colombia, Jose Edgar Preciado, a Colombian caddie, suffered a fatal heart attack. Preciado was inside the onsite hotel at the Country Club of Bucaramanga when he collapsed. Paramedics responded and administered emergency treatment, but Preciado was pronounced dead,” a statement from the organizers read.
Curiously, there were no other details communicated about this unexpected death either.
The high incidence of myocarditis resulting from the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 mRNA vaccine is underscored by two reports from Israel. For patients in Israel’s largest healthcare system, Clalit Health Services, the estimate is 2,13 cases per 100 000 jabbed people, reaching an alarming high of 10,69 cases per 100 000 in men and boys ages 16 to 29.
Both studies were published online in the New England Journal of Medicine. Some studies have estimated a higher incidence of post-vaccination myocarditis rates, at 16,2 per 100 000 in boys ages 12 to 15 and 9,4 per 100 000 in boys ages 16 to 17 based on US Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) data.
