Libyan serial offender lives in Germany for 7 years, 5 of them in prison

Mansour H. (30) arrived in Germany in 2014 and has since been in prison for five and a half years, among other things for extortion and drug trafficking. He was supposed to be released on July 24, but on Friday he was given an additional year in prison because H. had assaulted a female prison officer.

Sandy B. (26, name changed) delivered the mail on the day of the crime in Bautzen Prison. According to the indictment, Mansour H. was expecting the letter from his girlfriend, but it was addressed to a prison buddy.

“I did not hand over the letter to the actual recipient because I still had to check it,” says Sandy B.. At that moment Mansour H. came along, snatched the letter from her, pushed her, hit her and disappeared with the mail.

The letter and its possibly illegal contents did not surface again. Mansour H. told the court: “I’m sorry, I just want to go home to my family in Libya.”

“After the prison sentence,” said Judge Dirk Hertle (58), “with me there is a clear line when it comes to attacks on officers.”
