A few months ago, French Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin asked the European Commission to cancel a financial contribution to Alliance citoyenne. The reason: the association puts pressure on the authorities to adopt “regulations compatible with Sharia”. As a partner of political Islamism, this association promotes a sexist and regressive view of women and gender relations. These pro-burkini and pro-veil campaigns in sport are the implementation of this strategy.
“At the same time”, Camille Galliard-Minier, LREM deputy for the department of Isère, gives credibility to the Alliance citoyenne by inviting it to a theme day on the disabled (in parallel to its Islamist-inspired political-sexist actions, the AC also carries out actions on the subject of disability).
Inviting the Alliance citoyenne alongside other associations working for disabled people gives it respectability, improves its image and makes it less disreputable.
