A shock. This is how one could describe the incident that occurred on Wednesday July 14 on a train from Menton to Marseille, according to Actu17. An aggressive man was waving a knife and making insulting remarks. In particular, he shouted: “The French are all sons of bitches, you have plundered us for 25 years, you will pay for what you did in Syria”. And finally: “I will make France bleed”. When the train stopped for a few minutes in Nice station, several passengers got off to alert SUGE (railway security officers). The suspect was then arrested without difficulty and the 15-centimetre blade he was carrying was confiscated. The police arrived shortly afterwards to take him into custody.
The man was then taken into custody. He is already known to the police. Miraculously, no one was injured or killed, but obviously many passengers were very shocked by this traumatic incident. The public prosecutor’s office has asked for a psychological report before deciding which direction to take in the investigation. An investigation has been launched and entrusted to the Justice Assistance Group (GAJ) of the Nice police station. His motives are currently completely unknown.
