“I am a member of a satanic sect and I will avenge my Muslim brothers!” : A man glorifies terrorism in front of a church in Cannes, France

A man who had been loitering outside a church in Cannes, Avenue du Prado, for several days unsettled the parish priest by his threatening statements, especially towards the children. This went so far that he had closed the front door of the building to keep them safe when the person declared, “Watch out, I have a gun!”.

The homeless Léonce B., a 36-year-old man from Cannes, continued his rampage on September 13 when he shouted to the crowd: “I am in a satanic cult and I will avenge my Muslim brothers! The prosecutor demands six months imprisonment followed by custody for the accused, who has four records in his criminal record for violent offences and theft. In the interest of his client, lawyer Jeanvrain pleads for acquittal because “Léonce suffers from severe personality disorders and the glorification of terrorism is not proven”. The court listens to the defence’s arguments and acquits the accused. Nice-Matin
