Germany: Turk shoots ex and her brother to death

Shooting in the city centre of Espelkamp (25,000 inhabitants, district of Minden-Lübbecke)!

According to the newspaper BILD, the perpetrator (52) shot his ex and her brother (48). Afterwards he fled – probably armed.

The police surrounded the house of the alleged perpetrator Ercan K. in the district of Nienburg. After a police team had talked to the attacker to convince him to give up, he could finally be arrested. He was slightly injured. The man lives in Diepenau, a town in the district of Nienburg in neighbouring Lower Saxony – about ten kilometres from Espelkamp.

The first crime happened there on Thursday morning at around 11.15 a.m., the second shortly afterwards. Eyewitnesses stated that four shots were fired, and a neighbour said she called the police.

“The alarmed emergency forces found a 48-year-old man killed and a seriously injured woman at the crime scenes, who died on the spot due to the severity of her injuries, despite the resuscitation measures initiated,” a police spokesperson said. The ” Bischof ” homicide squad is investigating.

One of the places where the bodies were found is in a house opposite a bus stop in the quiet terraced housing estate, the other in a small side street not far from the first crime scene – about 100 to 200 metres away.

According to BILD information, Ercan K. had been stalking and threatening his ex-wife Sati K. for some time after their separation. That is why Sati’s brother Muharrem K. is also said to have been in their flat. This is where the first shots are said to have been fired, killing the brother.

Sati K. then fled into the street, screaming loudly and in panic for help. According to BILD, the ex-husband caught up with her after about a hundred metres and shot her in front of a house.

At first it was said that K. had killed herself, but the police denied this.
