What a nightmare! A female resident (78) from the Vogtland region was abused by her carer (21). As she suffers from dementia, she was defenceless against her tormentor.
The young man has now been sentenced to imprisonment at Zwickau District Court for rape and sexual abuse of people in need of help.
Nursing assistant Nancy W. (32, name changed) still cannot believe the sight. “He was standing in the bathroom directly behind her with an erect penis. When I came in the door, he quickly pulled up his pants,” she says.
Without her accidental intervention, the perpetrator might not have let go of the pensioner. Perpetrator and accused Khatab A. (21) is Syrian and was sent to the retirement home in Bad Elster by a temporary employment agency. “He also wanted to massage me again and again. When I cautioned him, he stopped,” said Nancy W.
Due to DNA traces and the witness, the burden of proof is overwhelming. Khatab A. also made a confession. “I was a weak person for a moment.” He had raped his victim with his finger and had no previous sexual experience, he said. “In our culture, there is no sex before marriage – theoretically.”
How the 78-year-old experienced and processed the crime is completely unclear. “She is completely cognitively impaired,” the nurse said. She could not be questioned in court.
