The police report:
On Tuesday evening ( August 24) at around 9 p.m., the police were called to an altercation in the Reichenberger Street in Groß-Gerau. In the course of the arrest, firearms were used against one of the suspects. The suspect was seriously injured and died in the course of emergency medical care. The reasons for the altercation are still unclear. The public prosecutor’s office in Darmstadt and the Hessian State Criminal Police Office in Wiesbaden have taken over the investigation of the case. During the crime scene investigation, the area around the crime scene was cordoned off. Out of consideration for the ongoing investigations, no further information on the facts of the case can be given at this time.

According to the police, several other people were seriously injured and taken to hospitals. A spokesperson said that there was no longer any danger to others after the police operation.
