Germany: North African gangs fight over a woman

Several people were injured in a physical altercation between two groups in the city centre of Karlsruhe at around 9:45 pm on Monday.

According to the current state of police investigation, the groups first got into an argument about a woman in the Schlosspark. An unknown man from the other group hit a 19-year-old man with a bottle, slightly injuring him.

In the further course of the incident, the opponents apparently clashed again at the underground stop Marktplatz. Here, several people were injured by kicks and punches as well as an alleged stabbing weapon by several men of the attacking group.

The perpetrators of the group of four were described as follows:

All appear to be between 16 and 25 years old, with slim figures and are probably of North African origin.

Two of the men were wearing black sweatpants, black T-shirts and white shoes.

Another man was dressed in black sweatpants, a light-coloured top and white shoes.

The fourth man was wearing white sweatpants, a white top, a black short waistcoat and light-coloured sports shoes.

The police are asking witnesses and especially the woman who was probably the subject of the altercation to contact the Marktplatz police station by calling 0721/666-3311.
