Germany: Mob of 250 migrants attacks police officers

According to the Federal Police, a female officer was injured during a riot at Nuremberg Central Station.

The woman was attacked by a man early on Sunday morning when she addressed him, the federal police said on Monday. She was punched in the face.

According to investigators, the commotion was preceded by an operation at the main railway station: Shortly before sunrise, two quarrelling men from Eritrea had been separated by a patrol on the spot. However, one of them refused to show his documents and punched and kicked the police officers.

He was then overpowered and “brought to the ground”. Another man, who had disturbed the action, was also handcuffed and both were taken to the police station with the “use of immediate force”.

In the meantime, about 250 people in the main railway station had shown solidarity against the officers and “shouted loud hate slogans” against the police. Attempts to ” settle the incident by means of speeches and expulsions” were unsuccessful.

It was initially not possible to find out how many police officers were involved, as the press office of the Nuremberg Federal Police could not be reached. In addition to federal police officers, officers of the state police were also on duty.
