The children (2, 7, 11) had to watch everything. The Afghan Mohammad H. (63) from Delmenhorst confessed on Friday to having killed his wife Raheleh (28). With 64 stitches and cuts!
The man has to answer for murder before the Oldenburg Regional Court. Again and again he bursts into tears: “I can’t remember the crime…”.
According to the indictment, the father had picked up the eldest daughter from school on March 24 and thus gained access to the flat of the still-wife. There was a court order that he was not allowed to approach her. There is talk of violence and quarrelling.
“I kissed her hands and begged her to let us get together again,” said Mohammad H. But she did not want him anymore and allegedly beat him with her fists.
That’s when he freaked out! “He took the kitchen knife he had brought with him and stabbed the woman’s upper body and head 64 times. Finally, he cut her throat up to her spine,” the prosecutor explains.
Emergency chaplain Barbara S. (74) told the newspaper BILD: “It was the worst case I have ever witnessed. Everything was full of blood, including the stairwell. In between there were the children, who were screaming and crying heartbreakingly.”
The siblings have been placed with a family of carers. The trial continues on Tuesday
