Fears that the Muslim Brotherhood plans to build a large mosque in Bochum, Germany

Is the “Islamic Cultural Association Bochum” (IKV) close to the extremist Muslim Brotherhood?

At least that is what the current report of the State Office for the Protection of the Constitution of North Rhine-Westphalia suggests. Among other things, the Islamist Muslim Brotherhood aims to infiltrate the state and establish Sharia law.

That is why Bochum’s politicians are now alarmed. Because: The IKV is planning to build the “Green Mosque” on 13,700 square metres on the Constantin Colliery site. The council factions have now suspended further support for the IKV by the city of Bochum.

“All doubts must be cleared up,” says the head of the Social Democratic Party (SPD) parliamentary group, Burkart Jentsch, when asked by the newspaper BILD. The Christian Democratic Union (CDU) also does not consider the conditions for supporting the project to be met “because of the insufficient clarification”.

The association rejects this, “expressly distances itself from any extremism” and wants to promote the ” prevention of any extremist influences and tendencies”.

The parliamentary group leader of the Greens, Barbara Jessel, doubts this: “The newly elected board of the association has obviously not succeeded in distancing itself from Islamist forces”.

By the way, the IKV is busy soliciting donations for the mosque project on the internet. The donations account is at the Savings Bank in Bochum. The BILD enquiry as to whether the Savings Bank intends to draw conclusions from the report on the protection of the constitution remained unanswered until yesterday evening.
