Three people were injured, one seriously, in a knife attack on Monday at the Schuman metro station in Brussels, just a few hundred metres from the seats of the European Commission and the European Council. Police did not comment on the motives of the attacker.
Three people were injured in a knife attack late Monday afternoon in a Brussels metro station. According to the federal police, one of the injured is “in a critical condition”.
“Knife attack in Schuman station: the cooperation with the different police services (âŠ) has enabled the rapid arrest of the perpetrator,” tweeted Brussels Mayor Philippe Close. The police did not comment on the motives of the attacker. The federal prosecutor’s office said it had not been involved “at this stage”. According to a source familiar with the case, the person arrested was “already known for a previous conviction”
The attack happened at around 6pm at the Schuman metro station, which is just a few hundred metres from the seats of the European Commission and the European Council.
