Attack in the French town of Romans: Abdallah Ahmed-Osman complained of “living in a country of infidels”, for his lawyer “his crime has nothing to do with religion”

The testimony of the lawyers of Abdallah Ahmed-Osman, suspected of having carried out the attack of April 4, 2020 in Romans-sur-Isère, has caused strong reactions among the joint plaintiffs.

Did Abdallah Ahmed-Osman carry out a terrorist attack in Romans-sur-Isère? On April 4, 2020, he killed two people with a knife in the middle of the city centre and injured five others. While an anti-terrorism judge is in charge of the investigation, the lawyers of the suspected terrorist assured the newspaper Le Dauphiné Libéré on December 7 that ” his crime was neither due to religion nor motivated by it”. This statement caused a strong reaction from the lawyers of the joint plaintiffs.”The claim that his actions had no terrorist background is a lie,” say lawyers Alain and Guillaume Fort. They explain: “From the beginning of the investigation, the investigators stressed that Abdallah Ahmed-Osman was psychologically vulnerable, but that this vulnerability was accompanied by a religious inclination that suggested a form of radicalisation with a terrorist background. The psychiatric experts are perfectly clear in the conclusion of their report: Abdallah Ahmed-Osman exhibits psychological disorders, but legitimises his crimes because of hatred for infidels, a hatred borrowed from radical Islamist ideology”.

The lawyers point out: “Although Mr Osman was recognised as a political refugee, handwritten notes were found in his flat complaining about living in a country of infidels. When he was arrested, he uttered prayers. Finally, some of his friends stated in the trial that he was in favour of the full application of Sharia law.”

Alain and Guillaume Fort would like to recall the horror of this April 4, 2020. “Julien Vinson was stabbed 22 times in the head and chest and murdered in front of his 13-year-old son. Jean-François S. was also cut down with a butcher’s knife and owes his life only to pure chance. Mrs Breyton had to witness the murder of one of her customers in her butcher’s shop, just a few metres away from her. The families of the victims are still in shock from the horrific images Abdallah Ahmed-Osman inflicted on them”. Le Dauphiné
