Pope Benedict, speaking from the grave?

By Monica Showalter

Pope Benedict XIV is dead but apparently has left behind a book to be read, highlighting a Church near “collapse,” its seminaries gay “clubs,” and plenty of criticism for the man presiding now over it all, Pope Francis.

According to Robert Spencer at PJMedia:

When Pope Benedict XVI died on December 31 at the age of 95, it turns out that he had a completed book ready for publication upon his death. Written in Italian, that book, Che cos’è il Cristianesimo: Quasi un testamento spirituale (What Is Christianity: Almost a Spiritual Testament), is full of explosive revelations and trenchant criticism of his woke successor, Pope Francis. Could Pope Benedict begin a counter-revolution within the Roman Catholic Church from the grave? Stranger things have happened, although it would take any one of us a good while to think of one.

Pope Benedict explains that he did not want the book published while he was still living because of the furious reaction his writings inspired: “For my part, in life, I no longer want to publish anything. The fury of the circles against me in Germany is so strong that the appearance of my every word immediately causes a murderous shouting from them. I want to spare myself and Christendom this.”

It’s easy to see why this book would inspire “murderous shouting” from some corners of the Roman Catholic Church. Benedict writes that the Church is close to “collapse” and paints a picture of seminaries in the United States as centers of promiscuous homosexuality and perversion. “In various seminaries,” the pope explained, “homosexual ‘clubs’ were formed which acted more or less openly and which clearly transformed the atmosphere in the seminaries.

All of this has been known for years by the Catholic faithful. I remember observing how many obviously gay priests there were as a student at the Jesuit University of San Francisco as early as the 1980s. With gayness came advocacy of the gay lifestyle. A then-“scandal” I covered for the university newspaper, The Foghorn, as a cub reporter was the leasing of the St. Ignatius cathedral, to the Gay Men’s Chorus for a concert. Someone made that decision and at the time, it drew controversy. I doubt it would draw controversy now.

Since then, we have seen problems with this bowing to the gay lifestyle — the first I noticed was that all the young straight young men in my circle, who sought to become priests, a heckuva lifetime commitment, were being dismissed from the seminaries as not suited to the priesthood. Maybe so, but not based on the character of the young men I knew. There was a growing suspicion that they weren’t part of a sort of gay “club.” It was strange how many of the devout they rejected.

When the pedophile scandals broke, there were an inordinate number of gay incidents among the perpetrators. I personally knew one of the pedo priests, the Rev. Donald McGuire, S.J., who taught at USF. He was into sex with young boys, particularly those who were new to the Church. Any moves to hose out these kinds of people? Seems he had been shifted again and again from assignment to assignment every time a scandal broke. To be fair, there were hetero perverts, too, but the gay component in these scandals was out of proportion to its numbers.

Now we have open advocacy for gay causes, with Pope Francis coming out with sympathetic statements for gay causes, and making that very odd statement that a priest in confession should forgive a sinner who has no intention of ending his sinning. Andrea Widburg wrote about that sudden shift in Church teaching in this post here. What else could that be but a green light to the gay lifestyle?

We also have a Synodal messages from our cardinal, Robert McElroy, wondering about the “demonic” rejection of parishioners of gay advocacy in the Church. McElroy is a nice guy and I hate to single him out, but his stance is one that doesn’t seem to be necessary, given that the Church laws are exactly the same for gay and straight people, that sex is for procreation, so no sex outside marriage. As for “rejection,” Catholics reject bad acts, not people. Why the sudden emphasis on this “inclusion” of gays, given that everyone knows that they aren’t excluded? Why the activism? Most Catholics know a few gay Catholics who have full understanding of Church teaching and do all they can to follow it. I know one gay Catholic who is a deep devotee of the Latin mass, now being repressed by the Church under Pope Francis. He joined the Church to get away from the gay lifestyle, I haven’t talked to him in awhile, but I doubt he wants to see it following him in. The ‘inclusion’ thing, in any case is kind of a weak argument coming from McElroy, who famously says he would give abortion-promoting Joe Biden communion, while Joe himself excludes little babies in the womb from a basic right to life and favors of cutting them up and selling them for spare parts at a profit. If an unrepentant Hitler wanted into the Church, would McElroy let him in, too,  in the name of ‘inclusion’? The moral disorder here is obvious.

The Gay Men’s Chorus in the cathedral was the ‘scandal’ of the ’80s, but now that the lavender mafia has gotten entrenched in the Church, we are seeing scandals like this:

NEWCASTLE, England (ChurchMilitant.com) – The Vatican is investigating a homosexual “sex party” at an English cathedral after its bishop quit and the cathedral dean, who organized the event, killed himself following allegations of abuse.

Individuals complained about the party and said “the cathedral had become a laughing stock.”

The party, which reportedly featured a drag queen, was held in the presbytery adjoining St. Mary’s Cathedral in Newcastle during the COVID-19 lockdown.

Father Michael McCoy, the cathedral dean abruptly appointed by Bp. Byrne to replace the popular previous incumbent Fr. Dermott Donnelly, is said to have approached several worshippers in the diocese and asked them if they would like to attend the party.

On April 10, 2021, Canon McCoy’s body was found hanging in an apartment on City Road in Newcastle, four days after Northumbria police informed the priest that they were investigating “a non-recent allegation” of child sex abuse against him.

Open that story with caution, you may feel you need a shower after reading it.

And this, which I wrote about in 2018:

Was the man who who’s widely believed to be the next cardinal for the Washington archdiocese, Cardinal Joseph Tobin of Newark, bunking with a houseboy?

It looks like it, given the reporting of the indefatigable George Neumayr.

Well, where do these events come from, other than a long downhill slide into tolerance for the gay agenda (notice I didn’t say ‘gay people’ which is a separate matter) being promoted by activists, and then an embrace of it, slowly, then quickly, by what Pope Benedict called a gay ‘club’ within the Church leadership.

The book is a bombshell for Pope Francis, and it follows from two other books also critical of his papacy.

Some observers call it chaos or civil war within the Church, and there are those who see it coming from a couple of directions — not just the conservatives upset that traditional Church teachings are being replaced by intolerant wokester ideology, but from the far-left, too, among the crazed German Church leadership which seems to be in opposition to all Church teachings. It may be overcalling it, but Pope Benedict did warn that the Church was looking at a potential collapse. It’s obviously a sign of trouble. And it may be a sign that the Church needs some new leadership.

Ireland is Full: Open Borders Government Takes to Twitter to Beg Migrants to Stay Away

twitter

Ireland’s pro-open borders government has begged on Twitter for migrants looking to claim asylum in the country to stay away.

Despite having initially insisted it would take in a limitless number of refugees and asylum seekers from Ukraine and beyond, Ireland’s open borders government is now desperate for migrants to refrain from coming to the island nation, with the country even now taking to social media to repeatedly beg would-be arrivals to stay way on social media platform Twitter.

The new social media campaign represents a new low in the country’s ongoing migrant crisis, which has seen local resources and housing supplies overwhelmed amid the tens of thousands of arrivals flooding into the country of only around five million people.

According to a report by state-owned broadcaster RTÉ, authorities are now saying that they will no longer be able to offer accommodation to non-Ukrainian adult migrants seeking to claim asylum in the country.

“The response to the ongoing migration crisis has now entered an extremely difficult phase, with insufficient accommodation available nationwide for international protection applicants, and the outlook for accommodation for people fleeing the war in Ukraine is also challenging,” a statement from the country’s integration department reportedly reads.

“As a result of this, it has now become necessary to pause the provision of emergency shelter for IP (International Protection applicant) adults arriving into the Transit Hub at Citywest,” it continues, with the department adding that: “IP applicants who are not provided with accommodation upon arrival or when applying for International Protection at the international Protection Office will have their contact details taken and be contacted as soon as accommodation becomes available.”

With the country’s government no longer able to house asylum seekers, authorities are now begging migrants to refrain from coming to the country for the time being at least.

As part of this effort, the country’s integration department has now repeatedly posted on Twitter in multiple languages begging for would-be asylum seekers to stay away, warning that the country can no longer house them.

“The Irish Government asks those who are considering seeking refuge in Ireland and are currently in places of safety not to travel to Ireland at this time and to defer making travel arrangements to come to Ireland,” one post by the department on Monday reads. “This is due to a severe shortage of available accommodation.”

Meanwhile, it appears that the government is struggling to properly handle the large numbers of migrants already in the country, with a violent “public order incident” breaking out at one of the country’s main migrant processing hubs in Citywest on Monday night.

According to reports in the Irish media, three men were injured with at least two being taken to hospital after a “disturbance involving a group of males” broke out at the centre around 6.30 pm last night.

It represents the second major incident of violence at one of the country’s asylum centres this month, with four individuals previously being hospitalised after a mass stabbing eventat a migrant hotel in Killarney.

No arrests by the police have reportedly been made in relation to the incident on Monday evening.

Two people have been killed and several others injured after a man launched a knife attack on a train in Germany today.

A man, who is said to be Syrian, attacked the passengers with a knife shortly before the regional train travelling from Kiel to Hamburg arrived at Brokstedt station at around 3pm today before he was arrested.

The suspect, who has not been named by police, launched the knife rampage just before the train arrived at Brokstedt station near Neumunster, a town in northern Germany.

Two people were killed in the attack and several others injured, including one person who is in a critical condition, reports Bild.

The man was arrested at the scene by police officers, who have since closed the train station, reports Spiegel.

Two people have been killed and several others injured after a man launched a knife attack on a train in Germany today.

An eyewitness told KN-online that people in his train carriage panicked when three girls ran in and told them a man with a knife was on the train.

Several ambulances are now at the scene to treat the injured passengers.

Police did not give out any information on the suspect’s identity and said his possible motives were under investigation.

Regular people compelled to make sacrifices for the energy crisis in the UK

By Rajan Laad

Just yesterday households across the UK were paid to use less electricity from 17:00 and 18:00 GMT. This was part of a scheme to conserve energy.

The scheme is called Demand Flexibility Service whose stated goal is to prevent an overload of the electric grid. An overload and an eventual collapse could leave most of the UK in darkness.

total of 26 energy suppliers have signed up for the service. According to National Grid’s electricity system operator, more than a million households and businesses have signed up to refrain from using high-consumption appliances such as ovens, washing machines, dishwashers, etc.

The scheme has been extended to today, the targeted hours this time being 1630 to 1800 i.e., 30 minutes longer than yesterday.

Some people across the UK could receive up to $24 for drastically reducing their electricity usage yesterday evening.

This is perhaps the first time in the history of the UK that practices have been put in place.

This is occurring at a time when parts of the UK experienced their coldest night in 12 years on Sunday night (January 22) as temperatures dropped to as low as -8.4C in some parts.

Simultaneously three coal-fired power plants in the UK have been ordered to be prepared for emergencies.

The National Grid insists that there are no chances of blackouts, but the fact that they are urging consumers to cut down on consumption for two consecutive days and are asking coal plants to be prepared shows that the crisis is grave.

Back to the power saving scheme: the National Grid’s website claims that the scheme “will allow consumers, as well as some industrial and commercial users (through suppliers/aggregators), to be incentivized for voluntarily flexing the time when they use their electricity.”

Some are predicting that similar energy-saving events could become a regular feature of winters in the UK and is likely to run until March when spring begins and the mercury rises.

So why is the UK on the brink of such an energy crisis?

Quite simply the overreliance on alternative/green energy and abrupt abandonment of conventional energy.

Last year, various media outlets including the BBC carried reports on an Oxford University study that stated switching from fossil fuels to renewable energy could save the world as much as $12tn by 2050

This is the standard modus operandi for climate change advocates. They make predictions about a very distant future that are unverifiable but compels people to fall in line for a ‘better tomorrow’.

The UK government has invested heavily in wind turbines.

The National Grid claimed a record amount of wind-powered electricity in 2022. The BBC reported that more electricity came from renewable and nuclear power sources than from fossil fuels gas and coal.

The problem is these renewable sources are not dependable.

Strong winds can provide electricity to most of the UK. But when the conditions are calmer, i.e. the way it has been for the past week, there is no power generation at all.

There seem to be no mechanisms to store the excess power generated for times when there are no winds.

On Saturday, the calmer conditions provided less than a quarter of Britain’s electricity. Since the weather was very cold, it caused more natural gas to be used to keep households warm.

Forecasts say that the UK isn’t going to be very windy in the subsequent weeks. This is one of the causes of the emergency that prompted voluntary Demand Flexibility Service, which has been in the pipeline since last year.

A country cannot depend on anything as arbitrary as wind for its energy which is its lifeblood.

What about other alternative energy sources.

Nuclear electricity is regarded as a low-carbon source of energy for the UK, but currently, it provides only 15% of the UK’s electricity. Besides, there are serious objections regarding safety risks and the cost of building and maintaining nuclear power plants.

Solar energy is out of the question because of the usually cloudy weather for most of the year in the UK.

Some in the UK are blaming Putin for it, as all Western governments seem to do whenever they find themselves in a bother for which they are to blame.

Ever since the war in Ukraine, Russia has reduced energy supplies to Europe in response to punitive economic sanctions imposed on it by the West.

Nord Stream 1, Russia’s largest gas pipeline to Europe, was closed indefinitely last September after an unexplained explosion.

Nord Stream 1 would normally supply European Union states with about 35 percent of all the gas they import from Russia.

But the UK was never dependent on Russia for oil and gas.

Yes, any disruption to the EU – or international supplies on the does affect Britain, but the impact isn’t considerable.

In the end, the fault lies with the powers that be in the UK who not only jumped on the alternative power bandwagon but terminated sources of conventional energy.

Each year there are on average about 10,000 excess deaths caused by an inability to afford to heat homes. Yet nobody seems to care.

Each and every coal mine was shut down even before the alternative was proven to be reliable.

So why did the powerful in the UK jump without looking?

Are they such true believers?

Perhaps relentless indoctrination has caused some to become devotees.

It is more likely that alternative energy producers donated generously to parties and powerful individuals in the UK to further their agenda. Even UK conservatives such as Boris Johnson supported these green initiatives.

The alternative energy producers and advocates have close ties with the media to push their message.

The result is the UK finds itself on the brink of a crisis.

This Demand Flexibility Service is being promoted as a grand idea where citizens are contributing to a better future.

But in reality it is a cynical move to exploit those struggling to make ends meet as a result of the massively inflated price of fuel, food, and electricity. They know that these people have no option but to accept any scheme that boosts savings.

In the coming weeks, expect large-scale publicity stunts to give the impression that everyone is making sacrifices. Perhaps all of the UK will be asked to turn off all lights for 10 minutes and a big deal will be made out of it on social media with selfies in the dark.

After that, regular people struggling due to the economy will make sacrifices while the policymakers and the ‘elite’ remain unaffected.

It seems unlikely that there will be mandates because it will compel the ‘elites’ to make sacrifices and compromises.

If the Democrats have their way, this is what they will do in the US. In fact, there are signs that this may be happening in California

As always millions of regular people will be compelled to do the heavy lifting for the follies of a few.

This is once again it is a reminder of how big government works.

Trump predicted this years ago.

Austria demands tougher EU migration policy, easier deportations

screen grab youtube

After struggling with a record-breaking number of asylum applications last year, Austria is demanding the EU tighten its immigration policy and ease deportation rules.

In a recent statement, Austrian Minister of Interior Erhard Karner said that it should be allowed to expel illegal immigrants at the EU level, even without an asylum procedure.

Karner said data shows that more and more Tunisians and Indians were applying for asylum in the EU. He said that these citizens have practically no chance of being granted asylum, but they have the right to have the procedure carried out.

The number of asylum seekers has risen dramatically in recent months. In 2022, Austria had nearly 60,000 asylum applications, which was triple what the country saw in 2021. However, adding to the burden are tens of thousands of Ukrainian refugees who are not required to file for asylum. Many towns and cities say they have run out of accommodation options for the migrants.

Anti-immigration sentiment remains high in the country, and currently, the country’s Freedom Party (FPÖ) is the most popular in the country, polling at 28 percent.

The country’s current coalition government of the Christian Democrats (ÖVP) and the Greens is under increasing pressure to address the migrant crisis. Now, the interior minister is asking for the EU to allow countries to deport those clearly ineligible for asylum, according to Hungarian news outlet Mandiner.

“Those who would have no chance of a positive decision should be expelled immediately,” said Karner.

In total, 923,000 asylum applications were lodged in the EU in 2022; however, this procedure does not apply to war refugees from Ukraine, who are considered persecuted under EU rules.

According to the latest data from EU border agency Frontex, approximately 330,000 illegal border crossings into the European Union were recorded in 2022, the highest figure since the migration crisis of 2016 and an increase of 64 percent from the previous year. More than 80 percent of illegal migrants recorded were adult men.

Germany: Trial begins for man who stabbed 7-year-old girl fives times in the head during breakfast at her school

The Katharinen school in Esslingen, Germany https://www.katharinenschule-esslingen.de/

The trial for a 25-year-old unemployed man with a migration background who stabbed a girl five times with a knife last June has begun in Esslingen, Germany. The man said he targeted the child because he thought an adult would be more able to resist his attacks.

On June 10, the 7-year-old victim had just taken off her backpack and was planning to take a seat for breakfast at the Katharinen School in Esslingen when the man stabbed her with full force five times in the back of the head. The kitchen knife the man used featured a blade 20 centimeters long and penetrated all the way through the girl’s skull.

A hero caregiver, Svetlana D., responded by rushing to the girl’s rescue, dragging the badly injured little girl into another room and locking them both inside. In the process of trying to save the girl, the 61-year-old suffered multiple stab wounds.

The attacker then fled the scene and called the police himself.

The suspect, Kirijan K., is being described as an unemployed “Dutchman” by most news outlets, and although the man has Dutch citizenship, he features a migration background.

The prosecutor in the case said that Kirijan K. “wanted to kill some person.” While being interrogated by police, the suspect indicated he was “socially excluded” and frustrated.

“The accused expected an adult to resist. Therefore, he chose a child to attack,” said the prosecutor, according to the German tabloid Bild.

The suspect may face no prison time at all. As is often the case, many migrants are deemed to be psychologically unfit for prison and are instead placed in a psychiatric ward.

“The defendant suffers from a combined personality disorder with a strong ego orientation,” according to authorities. He now faces life in prison or permanent detention in a psychiatric facility.

Pope Benedict Unleashes Posthumous BOMBSHELL on the Catholic Church

In a seminary in southern Germany, candidates for the priesthood and candidates for the lay office of pastoral referent lived together.”

The corruption was more or less out in the open. “During common meals,” Benedict noted, “the seminarians were together with married pastoral representatives, partly accompanied by their wives and children and in some cases by their girlfriends. The climate in the seminary could not help priestly formation.” He said that a “bishop who had previously been rector had allowed seminarians to be shown pornographic films, presumably with the intention of thereby enabling them to resist against behavior contrary to the faith.”

Will the Bundeswehr special fund be increased to 300 billion euros?

M1A1 Abrams practicing an offloading from amphibious craft – public domain, Wikipedia

In the spring of 2022, in response to the war in Ukraine, the German government launched the so-called “Bundeswehr special fund”. For the sum of 100 billion euros, the Bundeswehr was going to be modernized and decades of neglect in equipping the troops would be corrected.

But months later there is still nothing happening. It was only at the beginning of January that the Federal Ministry of Defense announced that eight procurement and modernization projects had now been launched, but it will take years for them to be implemented.

At the same time, it has long been apparent that the 100 billion euros set by the government will not be nearly enough. The current Parliamentary Commissioner for the Armed Forces, Eva Högl (SPD), is therefore going all out: She wants the “special fund” to be increased from 100 to 300 billion euros. With revealing openness, Högl also let the Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung(FAS) know what the money should be used for: not for the modernization of the Bundeswehr, but for even more support for Ukraine, and which “cannot be done without new production capacities”.

Högl is thus passing on the official NATO course unfiltered to German taxpayers. Only recently, NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg emphasized that armaments production must increase “in order to replenish the Allies’ stocks and to ensure that we can continue to supply Ukraine for a long time”. The conflict “is consuming a tremendous amount of ammunition and devouring our stockpiles”.

German Leopard tanks to Ukraine

With its reserved position on the issue of German main battle tank deliveries to Ukraine, the German government under Chancellor Scholz has aroused the intense displeasure of its alleged NATO “partners”. In Washington, in particular, there is open indignation. According to one report, a meeting of the US Secretary of Defense at the Chancellery was “tense”.

During Lloyd Austin’s visit to Berlin and the US Air Force base in Ramstein on Thursday and Friday, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin tried in vain to persuade Germany to at least grant export permits for third countries. This was reported by the Süddeutsche Zeitung, citing an internal report from American government circles. According to the report, Austin got into a heated argument with Chancellor Wolfgang Schmidt during his visit to the Federal Chancellery.

The meeting came about because the new Defense Minister, Pistorius, was only sworn in on Thursday and the arms export decision is being made in the Chancellery and by Chancellor Olaf Scholz anyway. The meeting between Schmidt and Austin was “tense”. The media report was denied by government circles. “We cannot confirm the report – neither in tone nor in content,” said Reuters information from Berlin.

Reports that the German government would only be willing to supply Leopard tanks to Ukraine if the US in turn supplied Abrams main battle tanks, are said to have been the last straw.

According to the report, Austin received this information on the way to Berlin. The White House then intervened with unusual severity: US Security Advisor Jake Sullivan called the Chancellery and spoke to Scholz’s foreign policy advisor, Jens Plötner. According to the Süddeutsche Zeitung, Sullivan read the Germans the riot act – a formulation that describes a particularly harsh confrontation in diplomatic circles.

The American side confirmed that there could be no joint delivery of Abrams and Leopard main battle tanks, citing a “delay”. Austin pointed out that moving and operating the Abrams would be too costly and time consuming. In this context, the US Secretary of Defense also emphasized that the US had already delivered far more armaments than Germany, including explosive devices that could hit Crimea.

Why the gender-obssessed West turned its back on Afghan and Iranian women

by Giulio Meotti

“Denying the two sexes in humans is the most striking example of how ideology mistreats science.”

Thus speaks a biologist at the University of Chicago Jerry Coyne, in the French magazine L’Express. The situation in the West would be comical if it weren’t tragic.

We read from the Telegraph that the famous Science Museum in London had to remove an exhibition entitled “Boy or Girl?” which featured quotes describing the transition from the “wrong body,” gender as something “hard to pin down” that “may not match biological sex”. It had been accused, rightly so, of “propaganda”.

Meanwhile, in Western universities it has become impossible to defend the classical and traditional (as well as scientific) vision of sexual difference. At McGill University, the most important venue for higher education in Canada, student protests have just canceled an academic conference on gender and sex. It happens everywhere, in Brussels as well as in Berlin and Paris.

And the “transgender Traviata” also arrived in Italy. Poor Verdi, the accusations of racism were not enough, they had to destroy his opera.. In recent days, at the Théâtre du Nord in Lille, one of the most important theaters in France, Molière’s Don Giovanni, which has become the emblem of “violent masculinity” was staged.

And while a European country, Scotland, is discussing whether to allow eight-year-old children to change their sex after passing a law that cancels the biological woman, this petty ideological movement is also rampant in literature. There are the “sensitivity readings”. Readers who clean up the novels to be published from any prejudices about race and gender. Le Monde recounts: “Officially or not, all the major publishing houses use it and specialized agencies are multiplying”.

But the West is an increasingly small, isolated place, crowded into its own “ship of fools,” as French philosopher Michel Onfray calls it, where it also has “progressives for the burqa like in Orwell, where chains are freedom” writes Pascal Bruckner in the Swiss newspaper Neue Zürcher Zeitung.

This week in China there is the worst demographic data since 1961, when the terrible famine caused by Mao Zedong’s “Great Leap Forward” led to massive deaths. In 2022, for the first time in sixty years, China’s population began to decline and deaths outnumbered births. China has an increasingly aging population, to which is added the “one child policy” carried out for decades that caused crazy gender imbalances so that today in China there are over 30 million more men than women.

“At best, China will lose a fifth of its population; at worst, two-thirds,” Niall Ferguson wrote in the Washington Post in August. “In 2018, there were 5.9 million more boys than girls aged 0-4, and 112 men aged 15-29 for every 100 women in that age group. This imbalance will only increase over the next 10 years.”

At birth, the “natural” sex ratio is approximately 103-107 males to 100 females. In China it is over 110 males, with peaks of up to 120 in some provinces. Translated: 30 million girls are missing in China.

But if boys and girls do not exist, as the Western establishment repeats, where have the Chinese girls gone? What do we need them for?

And if we put “woman” in quotation marks, why did Iranian women take to the streets to demand respect?

“The year in which women were erased”: thus Ayaan Hirsi Ali, who was infibulated in Africa and escaped a forced marriage and who lives in America iunder threats like Salman Ruhsdie does, wrote a few days ago in UnHerd.

In the West, the word “woman” no longer has a meaning.

Only a society that has become completely unencumbered by reason could devote so much energy to the ideology of gender. Only a society that has become completely myopic could speak of “women with penises” even if real women – without penises – in Afghanistan and Iran are beaten and murdered for wanting fundamental rights.

Is it really a coincidence that, in the same year that the West forgot what it means to be a woman (The Lancet now calls them “bodies with vaginas”), we decided it was acceptable to turn our backs on Iranian and Afghan women?
